@@octopuscal428 yeah i guessed it, most speedruns i've seen use just "A" for all the names so this is a good strategy i probably haven't seen before (maybe i haven't watched much EB speedruns though) while it's indirectly also more creative xd

I notice a whole bunch of random inputs, probably for rng manipulation. I don't know the exact mechanics of the RNG for this game but I'm guessing based on the amount of manipulation that is done that it doesn't update every frame and therefore RNG manipulation tricks aren't framed perfect.
We use earthbounds bad Collision mechanics to glitch out of bounds. Because all of Earthbound is on one giant map we can then walk to the fourside side of the tunnel out of threed, but it looks like twoson because the palette wasn't updated. Entering the tunnel then Works us to threed because that's what it's programmed to do if you enter at that point (either st that story position or there's a flag for it).
We activate some cutscenes to ~~advance the story to the point where we go to winters. I don't yet know why this is necessary~~ get into one room in threed because it has broken collision and is near a whole bunch of other rooms that have warps to various parts of the game.
