All the classic villains you encounter in this game: The Joker, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, The Penguin, Catwoman, Two Face, The Scarecrow, The Riddler, Clayface, & Manbat. It's just a shame we didn't get Mr. Freeze, Bane, Killer Croc, or Batgirl, though, but we do see Barbara Gordon. That would've made it complete, but the game is still really cool none the less.
The four overlapping layers of parallax scrolling in the first level look so cool! The whole game is loaded with nice graphics and sounds, almost like an early PS1 game!
Yea, clearly much better than the Sega game (it's different, they only share the same title and developer, Konami). The Sega game isn't bad, but it has less to do with the plot of the Batman series and it's very repetitive and stressful...
I just love all the references and callbacks to specific episodes from the show (esp. in the Riddler level), and the look and soundtrakc of the game do a great job nailing the series' atmosphere as well.
Batman and Robin in MD is also a superb game, different and difficult as hell but that captures better the action of the show. Sadly this version gameplay is a bit boring.
It’s too bad that Konami didn’t do Batman Forever. They would have used the digitized actors and graphics from their game Lethal Enforcers and would have made a better game.
Great memories of this game..I'll always remember when I beat this game for the first time and was treated to that epic closing soundtrack theme with the cast images. 1994..good times.
this game next to super mario bros and batman returns on the snes was my favorite game back in the 90s i had lots of fun playing this as a kid this was defintly the best batman game before arkham asylum
I love when a bad guy gets hit by a batarang and they stand there stunned for a second. You know in their head they are thinking, "The ef did you just throw at me, Braj?!"
This is Batman Arkham game in 90S(1994) era for me o o. I completed the game back in my younger days. Love Penguin and Riddler stages a lot 👍. Like how Cobblepot fight us with his giant machine shooting at us in the third stage 🤣. Still, remember the feel for the first time reach the final and meet Joker with his jetpack machine from "Mask of Phantasm 1993" animated movie 😆👍👏. Great playthrough by Parazzing and great video posted from World of Longplay youtuber.
Wow. I'm surprised... For a game in 94, this wasn't bad at all! Especially the transitions to Mode Seven. I knew the SNES was capable of a lot, but this was a leap from its predecessor . And wasn't the the Penguin's chopper supposed to go down after he was beaten? The Riddler's stage looked awesome!
I don't know about this one being the best before the Arkham series, but it was really good. Nothing beats Batman Returns on SNES. It was the best game on the console...
@@rootykazooty351Or just as fun for different reasons. In one of them, you can plow through enemies to your heart’s content, while the other requires a bit more brains to get through, but both represent their source material faithfully.
I agree, but the difficulty on that version is just damm criminal. A thing that a lot of developers did during the 90s is make their games really difficult so they could not be finished when rented.
This game is great. So hard, but fun, with a great replay value. I love it. Beating a level on this game is just as satisfying as watching an episode of the show.
@@jimbodeek Both voice are awesome. But....er I am not sure if they are willing to do it again in the present day 😅. Like, Mr.Mark Harmil from what I heard he have enough of Joker voice acting(Love his voice in Batman Arkham Universr ^0^ Arkham City is my favourite ^0^). Whelp, correct me if I am wrong about what I am saying somehow 👍.
The Best Batman Game prior to the Arkham games...followed by another SNES Classic...Batman Returns...which was basically Final Fight with Batman...FANTASTIC! Also really love the Batman 89 games on NES and Genesis! But this one beats them all!
Why are some of you comparing the genesis version to this? That's like apples and oranges. They are both great games, but outside of the source material, they are completely different.
@@louiskeiflin5858 agreed, it tried to combine two genres, beat thrm up and shoot them up, but result was pretty poor. Hovewer, I still like bootleg version of genesis game, it gives you unlimited gun power.
If only the gameplay for the Sega Mega CD version were like this... that game had brilliant music and cutscenes, but it was just a typical vehicle based title. Imagine this with slightly better graphics, voice acting, fully animated cutscenes and the fantastic music by Shirley Walker and Burke Trieschmann. ...HD remake, anybody?
Fun Fact: Poison Ivy, Two-Face, and the Riddler are the only bosses in this game that are not fought in hand-to-hand combat. None of these bosses are re-fought in the Final Stage.
I remember needing to call the Nintendo hotline because I just could not figure out how to get past the king and queen on the chess board Riddler level. Turns out you can jump off of the pieces. After that it was smooth sailing, :)
I really enjoyed how they utilized the Batarang. When a thug had a gun 🔫 you could throw it at him and knock the gun 🔫 away. They did a great job with the animation and the controls. Everything was fluid and smooth. Yeah there were some hiccups but overall this was a really well made game.🎮 👌 👏 Konami really took the series and made it playable. I LOVED the show, and this was a great compliment to it!
I see a lot of "comparisons" between the SNES and the Sega Genesis version. Granted this is a older video, but the war is over guys. Both systems had merits. Both systems had pluses and minuses. I loved the sports games the Genesis could do. I also loved what the SNES did as well. This was a great game, period! Whether you had one system or if you lived for video games like me and whose paychecks went towards systems and games. Both were decent. And yeah I owned both games for both systems. I was so sad. LOL!
In my opinion both SNES and Gens are good games. They just offer diffrent thing in diffrent way. SNES version has smooth graphics with music + dialogs, looks more like animated cartoon. Batman uses some serious staff and have to beat more main villians. Genesis version has better special effects, diffrent but not worse soundtrack (fits better to this gun' and 'run style) is more dynamic and challenging and furthermore has better bosses. Important note in Gens version you can play 2 players at once. I think that Gens>SNES. But talking that this 2nd is trash game, whatever it is in your opinion, is just trash talk.
I like more snes version. Yes, genesis version has great visual, but it is unbalanced. It tried combine two genres, shoot'em up and beat'em up, and it werent the beast decision.
Im playing this game for the first time in my snes. Is it normal that everytime I die I start from the begining of the level and not from the begining of the area? This started to happen since level 2
Just came back from listening to the Genesis/Megadrive soundtrack. It has a loud and obnoxious timbre, but is otherwise just passable EDM, which doesn't really fit the art borrowed from the animated series at all. I was actually a bit shocked that the SNES version hit closer to the source material. Funny how the '90's console war rages on even today...
*Secret Dialogue* happens in Catwoman's stage if you go into the Apartment Rooms @ 35:25 in order to find Isis which is Catwoman's cat, and then defeat Catwoman at the end of her stage~
i dont understand why mine is slow as hell i mean enemies are OK in speed but batman movements are too slow than this video , m i playing a different version or wat ?
adding in the fact that you can't fire while moving. i hate the genesis for ruining my childhood although i loved road rash and i think there was a baseball game called george clementa or something.
