Adorable anime characters, charming music and background art, gotta love Japan for beautiful games like this! Just makes me (or anyone) import game hungry thinking about it!

I thank Japan for testing out America's nuclear bombs.
Bit late on the response...but Nintendo Switch Online's SNES library has the original version of Panel de Pon among it (and no, not the Tetris Attack reskin)
Panel de Pon is finally releasing worlwide for nintendo switch on their snes online service. Yasss!!! The legendary Gunpei Yokoi created this epic game. Thank You Gunpei for creating strong females: Samus Aran, Palutena, Princess Daisy and Lip. Very badass characters. RIP. Gone too soon.
@@GardevoirBoy That's right! We can finally enjoy the original product Panel de Pon worlwide on nintendo switch and NOT that censored version released by nintendo of america years ago. They butchered Gunpei's Panel de Pon when nintendo of america shoved in all those lame yoshi characters.😡😤 But now we can enjoy the True experience of Panel de Pon as it is and hopefully we get the Gamecube version released worlwide soon as well. Plus New sequels to expand the franchise. We can now fully be mesmerized by Lip, the fairies and the Magical Forest. This Masterpiece created by Gunpei Yokoi is magnificent. Hopefully Princess Daisy is no longer Censored by nintendo, Tanabe and shigeru Grinch miyamoto!!! STOP shoving peach down our throats! Especially with those Abominations called peachette and pink gold peach.💩 Daisy Deserves to be included in main console games, luigi mansion, mario & rabbids, and have her own games series taking place in her empire Sarasa Land. Take care. 😘
@@irmaramirez5873 Enough with this grinch Shigeru Miyamoto! I don't ever want to hear you call Miyamoto a grinch again! I understand you dislike Tanabe, Miyamoto, and Nintendo for not having Daisy appear in many mainline titles. I get that you don't like it when Nintendo trolls us with Peach characters and force us to love Princess Peach. I understand you didn't like Nintendo of America back in the day when they replaced Panel de Pon with Yoshi characters due to culturism hypocrisy. I get that. Wanting revenge against Nintendo for not giving you enough Daisy and replacing Panel de Pon with Yoshi characters may not make things easier. Listen! I know what it's like to have your favorite thing that's almost perfect getting censored. I was upset that Daisy didn't make many appearances in the 90's after people accused Daisy of stealing Peach's identity. Peach is very iconic to Nintendo and I understand you don't like it when Peach gets all the glory and they get too protective of Peach's identity. To be fair, Nintendo is very serious of how their games and characters are handled and I respect them for it. I didn't expect Nintendo to be perfect. Sure, their game and character handling may be a bit extreme sometimes and I get that, but we can't always get what we want.
@@GardevoirBoy Let's just hope that both of these men make better decisions and listen to what fans want to see in mario games. They cannot play def forever to fans' demands because people will eventually get tired of it and stop buying many of the mainline games. I cannot put my hands over fire and defend miyamoto because we don't know the whole truth. But I will pray to God that miyamoto leaves the hatred, resentment and jealousy out of his heart. I hope that he values Princess Daisy's potential and sees that she is worth a lot!! Daisy has not had it easy but that is why she is also soo relatable. Because life isn't easy. xoxo 🌼
Natrafiłem na tę grę kilka dni temu gdy przeglądałem gierki na switchu, a konkretnie gry ze snesa, które nintendo udostępnia w ramach abonamentu. Na pewno jest to jedna z najlepszych gier tego typu. Przyjemna muzyka i wciągający gameplay.
Confirmed this will be coming to the Switch SNES library next week! Used to play this game so much with my family growing up and I couldn't be more pumped. Let's gooo !
I have Tetris Attack, yet strangely want to get this game as I tend to love playing games in their original form. Didn't know all those years ago that this game was yet another puzzle game reskinned for western audiences.
Now it's on switch! and Yeah NA made a lot of ports like Mean Bean machine Kirby Avalanche and Tetris Attack, the originals are better, and tbh they should have called this Yoshi Attack, this is very different from tetris.
@@MementoDespair Well Tetris was a name Nintendo knew North America gamers were familiar with, so they branded this one as a Tetris game, even if it plays nothing like Tetris. I still see people call other puzzle games, Tetrislike, or a Tetris clone, even if the games nothing like Tetris.
I got the Tetris Attack when I was a kid (we actually kept it all these years and our SNES). I loved that game and it felt a little weird to find out it was a remake from this one. I love it, though. I just wish it was THIS the one who made it on US ver, but I guess I kinda get why it didn't make it if not as Yoshi's theme (which I believe is not even so claimed or remembered as many other Nintendo titles IMO).
Man, it's such a trip seeing this version of the game after getting used to the version with Yoshi. :P I prefer the Tetris Attack version, myself, though. Those characters are a lot more memorable for me, I guess.
Angel Chavez This is actually the original game, but it got the same treatment as Puyo Puyo by being reskinned with more familiar characters in the hopes of appealing to Western audiences. However, despite not being related to Tetris, Nintendo of America cannot release Tetris Attack due to bearing the name. And Tetris Holding, the licensor, prevents them from releasing it.
They didn't know how a video game with something foreign to gamers outside of Japan could sell in the west, so it was rebranded to something that gamers were familiar with. And Panel de Pon plus Puyo Puyo were the two games to get that treatment.
Completely wrong, Nintendo rebranded this in the west with characters gamers in the west recognized and Nintendo knew would sell copies of this game. Sega and Compile did the same thing with Puyo Puyo 1, rebranding it with characters familiar to gamers on whatever matching it was replaced with, either Sonic, or Kirby in the case of the SNES. Had absolutely nothing to do with the gender demographic of gamers back in the 90's.
As much as I'm sad we didn't this version, I am glad that the international version did not get a re-release. Tetris Holding did the right thing to not re-release Tetris Attack because the game didn't look as appealing with Yoshi characters.
Gunpei Yokoi created this great game Panel de Pon. I am very Thankful to Gunpei for creating very strong female characters like Samus, Palutena, Princess Daisy, Lip, Nana and more.😍 He had a wide range of creativity and gave us very diversified characters which include: Bounty hunters, Godesses, Badass princess, Fairies, climbers, etc. Some of his male characters include Mr game & watch, R.O.B., Tatanga, famicom wars, etc. The majority of his characters are part of Smash bros. We only need Lip and Tatanga to be fighters in the main roster. A true Legend gone too soon.😢 ^ And Panel de Pon finally released for switch 2 months ago. Hopefully we get the Gamrcube version released internationally too.
@@irmaramirez5873 I'm sorry if cultural hypocrisy and identity theft ruined Princess Daisy and this game for the 1990's. It wasn't easy living with video games after having bootlegged versions of games localized from Japan to America after what Atari has done to the video game industry back in the Early 1980's. Nintendo didn't want to start another crash which fortunately didn't happen, but games at the time were dominated by kids before Nintendo Power. Despite this, the heavy censorship for third party gaming was only to prevent another video game crash. Deep down, they were being careful for what they release and didn't want to offend the American gamers cause of so much doubts. We can send them requests, but they many answer all of it. I'm feel sorry for you and myself to live without Princess Daisy in video games for one decade after that silly Daisy stealing Peach's identity excuse. In fact, I don't believe that Daisy is Azalea even if Daisy's redesign emulated Azalea and didn't steal Azalea's identity.
I find it somewhat disgusting we didn't get, in Tetris Attack, da final boss battle music! Even if it didn't fit Bowser, it woulda been a nice song 2 do a battle wit...
I kinda wish this became its own series rather than just having the game be slapped on to more iconic Nintendo characters. It’s kinda sad, because I feel like Nintendo’s kinda running out of ideas for new Switch games these days. I think having a new Panel de Pon game with its respective characters would be a breath of fresh air.
Also,if Sonic Team took advantage the Puyo Puyo franchise after Compile giving them the licenses,to highly improve it with a bunch of characters and a simplistic yet cute art style,Nintendo can also do the same thing with Panel de Pon it would make a great competence, like the good old times.
@@MissJackietheLakester Well,i had a similar crossover idea but with nearly every Puzzle game(including spinoffs, such as Pac-Attack,Panic Bomberman, and Puzzle Bobble),teaming up in a similar way to Marvel's team ups such as Secret Wars and Infinity War.
Dude. The stage clear I just skipped it after 1-2 cause it just bugged me a little (I mean, maybe because I move little faster than that and do 10x chains), so I watch just the very end and it was like a heart attack cause I really thought it was a lose XD But seeing the puzzles being solve so smoothly that's actually cool. TBH I just finished them yesterday with my brother and OMG we actually had a hard time. We were like "Was this really meant for kids? DAMMIT it actually feels harder than that" (The game's actually rated K&A if I recall it right)
Yoshi and Lip version dont forget Pokemon version either for me all three are perfect games in their own way but i wish Lip was in more games like an adventure game like games
Diego Lamentablemente, era muy japonés para nuestra audiencia de América. Solo se puede esperar que sea una nueva edición o incorporado en una compilación, ya sea en Switch, como una aplicación móvil o alguna consola futura.
Coming to SNES Online, I'm surprised they include this version instead the Yoshi version in the international version of the SNES Online. Edit: This is also the 2nd Japan exclusive title to be released in the international version of SNES Online. The first being Super Puyo Puyo 2.
Maybe nintendo wants to make new games with their IP Lip & Panel de Pon. Lip is a spirit in smash bros ultimate aawell!! I am happy they went with Panel de Pon for the international release instead of yoshi. NEW fans will love it & playthrough videos will arise. I'm glad nintendo is using more and more of the legendary Gunpei Yokoi's game creations!! He gave us Metroid, Kid Icarus, Super Mario Land, Panel de Pon, Mr Game & Watch, the D pad and more. RIP Gunpei
+Lord Oshawott indeed, but yeah this one is the original then tetris attack came by using nintendo character because it was more North america oriented and then pokemon puzzle league on the n64.
I have sent my ideas for Panel de Pon ponification for the Nintendo Switch to Hasbro Spark. I have sent pictures of Panel de Pon and the localization of that game, plus a gameplay video of Panel de Pon, so Hasbro can get the idea of what the game will look like. If anything good comes up, I will let you know.
DragonEye I guess it’s not what NoA was thinking, even if it’s true. My guess would be: “Ok, how can we sell this?”. It was too japanese for the west, where even commercials from Nintendo were different between America and Japan, whereas Japan had quirky and silly commercials, having puppets for a Zelda game ad, here we were graced with a fat man exploding and a game ad on a book that literally stunk, which endured through the 6th generation of consoles, but tamer.
Marketing Demographics is how it was rebranded. In the mid to late 90s gaming in America was widely considered a boys hobby (and by most metrics, it still is today). And most boys hobbies had to be "xtreme" in the 90s. So marketing execs probably thought, "how can we get this game to see more sales when it's A puzzle game with a very girly aesthetic? (2 things that was guaranteed to make a game get overlooked in the states, just look at PuyoPuyo) Put a less girly animal (a pre existing mascot say) on the cover and change the title to something more edgy. Why they chose to license the word Tetris (besides brand recognition) seems dumb to me since they could have called it Yoshi's Panel (grabbing the Yoshis Cookie fans) and saved on licensing costs.
Well, panel de pon is finally releasing worlwide for switch this year 2020. nintendo is using more and more IPs by the legendary Gunpei Yokoi. And that's great. Gunpei created Samus Aran, Palutena, Princess Daisy and Lip. Very badass characters. RIP Gunpei.
I rented a game on PS1 around 1998 that was a Japanese (no English anything) that was a Tetris style game that featured a anime style girl that would do the old "whoop whoop" arm thing whenever you did really well. I have NO idea what it was called and I've been trying to find it ever since. I was hoping this was it but no. I can not remember what game that was and no one I half-ass describe it to have any idea what I'm talking about.
Don't need a Switch and online to be able to play this version, bought a Japanese SFC cart of it a few years back for my gaming needs. It has retired my copy of Tetris Attack.
@@CarbyGuuGuu the motherfuckers at nintendo of japan should have released Panel de Pon 64 in Japan instead of just killing it and releasing PKM Puzzle League as replacement
Yes, one of a few puzzle games that saw a western release, but were reskinned with characters western audiences recognized, instead of the original casts of characters.
Screw those western versions wich were nothing more then a gimmick with mario characters in it ,also the name panel de pon fits better then the name tetris attack , so in short ,both the name tetris attack and those mario characters have nothing to do with this game at all.
It was done many times to include characters gamers were familiar with at the time. Anime wasn't huge like it is now, so it might've hurt the games sales going with the original cast.
This game is fine, it still holds up quite well today because it is just as playable now as it was back then. The 1990's seemed to be a golden age for puzzle games, with the Puyo Puyo's, the Taisen Puzzle Damas, Money Puzzle Idol Exchange, Cleopatra Fortune, Dr Mario, Hebereke's Popoon, and other puzzle games from that decade. A lot of these online puzzle games, from social media, to game sites, ripping off ideas from these games, left, right, and center. So today's standards are pretty lame.
