Snidely Whiplash (Alfred Molina) steals the town's mortgages. However Dudley Do Right (Brendan Fraser) is more concerned with vampires.
The creator who brought you 'George of the Jungle' unleashes a different sort of hero. OK, the setting is a bit different (mountain village) and he's hardly swinging through the trees (he's in stirrups on horseback). But what the hell. It's damn funny.
Synopsis: A hopeless Canadian mountie attempts to thwart an enemy plan to buy up all the property in town and then fake a gold-rush. Comedy, based on the Sixties cartoon of the same name.

Meh...I dunno...I think Brendan Fraser was pretty good as Dudley too...he did those sort of 'naive hero' roles well back in the day...the casting of the two main leads was about the only thing in the whole film they got right! So it leads to some good moments when there is the material there...it's just it doesn't happen very often!

Maybe so, but I watched it a bunch on DVD when I was a kid. I remember somebody gave it to me as a birthday present one year and I wasn't sure what it was at first. Then when I did see it I thought it was super fun. Still do.

@@askariseraphim We had a bunch of VHS tapes as well when I was growing up. I think I was 11 or 12 when we first got a dvd player. Truth be told, there are times when I miss having a VCR, and sometimes I have to see a clip of one of my favorite childhood movies in VHS quality. It's like that scene in Everybody Loves Raymond where Ray's parents are listening to an old record and they are mesmerized.

@@PeachLover94It was actually Paul Frees he was impersonating in this. The two sound very similar to each other and both narrated Dudley do-right, however Paul had a bit more of a deeper voice than Bill. I’ve impersonated both and I’ve found Paul Frees to be a little deeper and easier to do than William Conrad.

The Canadian citizens really mobbed Dudley Do-Right in this position. Snidley Whiplash/Alfred Molina really had the accountant pinned down. The fear of vampires was something scary.

Nope. He got fired for not meeting Snidley Whiplash for dinner at Dudley's house. ...even though his house got blown up in an assassination attempt by Snidley...
