My dog, my German Shepard saved my ass while I was out fishing on a river. Some guy was sneaking around behind me and acting very suspicious. I didn't seen him until I noticed Moss' neck fur start to rise, and her body tense up. She's trained to be a therapy dog. Though I have taught her to bite. When I turned the guy went for me, and within a second Moss was on the guy. He ran off, and my group came back to find Moss keeping guard over me. These dogs are amazing, a dog that hadn't been trained to truly attack, did it without hesitation to protect me.

I wonder were my Retired Military Bomb dog HHero was originally trained hes a awesome dog 10 years old 2 tours 1 in Iraq 1 in Afganistan. Now hes just enjoying the good life of sleeping and playing fetch
momoville100k Where did you adopt your boy from? Just curious. I would love to be able to provide a forever home for one in need, or even foster them until their handler who they were deployed with, is ready to come home forever. ❤️ 🇺🇸 🐾
These dogs and their handlers have my upmost respect. Thanks to all of those who serve. Dogs are amazing. I've recently started having seizures and my dog knows about 10mins before it hits me. Never been trained for that but he knows every time. He circles me and pushes me toward the spot I sit while seizing. Because of this he will now become my therapy dog. From rescue to lifesaver. Adopt don't shop.
These dogs are worth more than we can appreciate, as for Ax and his handler, long lives and good health to you both ... what a wonderful dog ...what a team...
God when that pup was looking at its owner...Did you see the absolute love and admiration in its eyes? Man that was beautiful. And people who say it's not fair for the dogs to be put into an environment they dont understand, I say they dont know dogs. They live and love to do whatever their owners want. They genuinely love it.
@@upahtv They don't put them to sleep and I have two examples to debunk that. One works as a service dog for one of my veteran neighbors, the second dog was adopted into a home.
When my husband was in Afghanistan there was an attack on the base he was on and it hit the dog kennel(none of the dogs ended up getting hurt but they didn't know that for sure at the time) and everyone lost their minds about the dogs getting hurt, so they pinpointed and took out those fuckers within just a few seconds. He was like "Don't fuck with our dogs!"
Eddie S. He was in the Military and deployed to Afghan! He didn't carry a backpack with nuke codes in it! Damn lol people are paranoid as fuck theses days.
whenever i send out ecards remembering our soldiers and first responders i always add a note to remember their k-9 partners as the heros they are and were. my brother was a k-9 trainer and handler and i can tell you they are just as much soldiers as the men/women they protect
These dogs are nothing short of truly amazing and deserve the utmost respect regardless where they serve. This one of the best videos I've seen explaining the training the dog's go thru. The bond between the handlers and the dogs, the trust and unconditional love always makes me cry.
While visiting New York, I stopped by the UN building and walked around the grassy perimeter. I saw a guard walkimg a bomb-sniffing dog around, and I thought to myself "That dog has no idea how important he is." Maybe I was wrong. To every dog, everythimg they do is the most important thing in the world. Either way, it didn't matter, because he smelled somethimg awesome in the grass and started rolling around in it. We have so much to learn from dogs.
Freedom Fighter obviously you don't even know who to spell german shepherd and not all bomb sniffing dogs are german shepherds dumasss. Most bomb detection dogs are Dutch shepherds and Belgian malinois
I breed longhaired German shepherds- because, well many reasons, when I was I My 20’s, I was given a Los Angeles police department Shepherd. She was the most amazing dog. These dogs are so incredible. I’m blessed to have the job that I have.
You breed longhairs? I've been looking into the proper efforts into breeding my boy. He's a long haired black and silver. Absolutely gorgeous and well built. How did you get into it and how do you stay out of 'backyard breeding'?
My son just received a Siberian Husky as a gift amazing dog this made me cry I have nothing but love for my soldier's my country the USA I feel more at ease that my son has a loyal companion I say this because I am a animal lover 💯🤝🤝🇺🇸✝️
These dogs are the most amazing ever. Military, bomb seeking, etc. they serve and protect and are such good boys/girls. Respect is a very big part with handlers, it goes both ways and you’ll always protect them. We have a mix Boxer/Pitbull dog around 6 years old now, his name is Tyson and one time my younger brother was roughhousing with my baby sister and Tyson immediately came in to protect our baby sister. So proud of our dogs.
They may not be humans, but they are still soldiers, they are more loyal, and more patriotic than any human could be, they don't accept failure, and they deserve the same amount of respect as the rest of our soldiers
He is sooo sweet and adorable and he deserves a round of applause for his valuable services to humanity. Hats off to your dog. He is a great dog. May God Bless Him!! 💗🕊❤👍✌💟
I rescued my EllaMayMay in Maine... She had a 10hr flight from Germany to Mississippi then to Maine, and I rescued her at 8wks old! For not a days paid training she listens to silent hand signals of mine, and when I share food, she always leaves half. as to make sure substance for both of us... A great breed indeed... if I could breed her with another GERMAN Snauchzer I would donate puppies for the effort. but American bred and German bred are two different personalities
The best part of these good boys and good girls is that they’re purely there to keep their friends safe. They have no agenda, no politics, no bias, they just want to get in and find the bad guys and keep their buddies safe. We absolutely do not deserve dogs, we never have
Yep US Special Operations, be it Army Special Force or Navy SEALs definitely use Belgian Malinois damn near exclusively for the last decade or so. They’re faster, leaner, smarter, and have the best nickname in the world: fur missiles!
Bad bless all of you. Thank you with all my heart. My husband and I have had 4 German Shepards and now we have a bel Mel. Pagan. Wonderful dog. All power. Not a cop in 10 miles that don't know her. All power. Chicago. We are safe with police dogs.
I love 💘 to watch that show, those dogs are amazing and smart. It hurt a lot when they died, specially when they died from cancer. God bless 🙏 those beautiful smart animals 🙏 ❤
This reporter is a brave woman! She was attacked in a crowd that I don’t remember where! But I’d Love to meet her and buy her a drink and talk to her!!
A good video clip. It was particularly interesting for me to see the "Herstik Wall", a detection training apparatus, being used in the video. I am proud to have developed and taught this method to the Special Ops units. It was also interesting to see some of the SEAL teams I trained pictured in Mike Ritland's book. Mike Herstik
I want to thank you for everything you've done for this country. I'm 17, and will be enlisting in the army next June. I can only hope that I serve as well as you have. I wanted to ask, how did you get to your position in working with these dogs? If I can I'd like to have one of these dogs by my side but I have no idea how I can become a part of a K-9 unit and I can't find much information online.
I pray for all military and military dogs, makes cry to watch this video. I hope that someday will be no more wars. God Bless the Military and their elite dogs. God Bless America!!
I would love to take one of these dogs! Have six of my own right now but once they pass - I think I will open my home to one of these retired soldiers! In my dad's platoon, I remember they had "bravo"- he was a boxer that farted :-) That dog could clear out the whole barracks :-) but even then he was loved!
Beautiful and Soulful and Very Special Dogs.. saw a Cousin of the Belgium Malinois the other day and the owner told me same dog, but that his was Dutch 😎
@@Sean-rn9kw Thats an unfair assumption youre making. OP you definently need to be prepared these are HIGHly active animals but if you can provide a good home you should. Not all of these dogs get happy endings and end up living out the rest of their life in some kennel or worse. Check out: missionk9rescue.org/ or www.saveavet.org/. Hes right though you should definenly be prepared to work but if you do you will have a friend that will always work for you forever.
Oo7 Hola you should definitely learn as much as you can, Malinios are a lot of work and are not for everyone. It would be horrible for the dog to be adopted then returned because the human was not capable of handling them.
These dogs also have cameras on em so the guys can watch where they are when they send em in. And can talk to em via radio or whatver they use...pretty badass dogs
