Speed is not a variable in the squirt angle / tip deflection. I thought this was the case for years, but many tests have proven that it's not so. It seems so because the CB doesn't swerve back as much. Play soft verses hard against the nap, with a flat cue, and this will become apparent.

I love your channel! Just a question: @5:30 you hit the cue ball on the right side and the yellow ball goes more toward the right in comparison to the previous straight shot. But in the following explanation, you say that hitting the cue on one side (i.e. on the right) provokes the target ball going much more toward the other side (i.e. the left). What am I missing? I'm curious as to what you think about the amount of difference with tournament grade tables for producing greater spin. For example, your attempt to recreate Judd's 2019 world championship shot, screwing back right down the table. I often wonder if you'd be able to get much closer to recreating that level of spin on shots if you had a tournament grade table to do it on? I also wonder if you think there must be some good strength training exercises for building cue power. Obviously technique is far more important, but having the raw power in delivering the cue must also increase how much spin you can hold on the cueball. You could even do a video series where you do some strength/power training exercises and see over a few months how much it increases your raw cue power. Would be fascinating.

Glad to be corrected but comparing your backspin shots (where cue ball bounces before spin kicks in) to when you cue lower and smoother, the cueball doesnt bounce and spin kicks in more ?

Was watching the snooker yesterday and seen two mis-cue's (John Higgins and Mark Selby). It's the first time I've ever seen two mis-cue's in one day in my whole life of watching Snooker. I noticed they were both using that new white chalk too, which is supposed to reduce the chances of things like this. Are we better to just stick with the green stuff? Barry Howard Dunoon, Scotland.
