Thank you for a beautiful video! 🐟 I’ve been to St Thomas and St John several times and have snorkeled most of those beaches. Beautiful…Beautiful Job 💙💛🧡

Nice video. Clever use of stills and video. STJ Rocks. Sadly, nearly all the coral is badly bleached. It's still fun though. Last trip, I went all the way around the cay off Trunk Bay- saw a bunch of fish around sunrise time. Haulover South is great, as is Waterlemon (if you dig on swimming with sharks.) Go out with Low Key to Carvel Rock. They do offshore tours twice a day. The island music was a bit repetitive IMHO and reminded me of the airport in STT- not in a good way. I associate it to overly aggressive sales people including the over crowded, hot Taxi's waiting outside. The worst part about STJ is having to leave. Where did you stay?

LOL! Thank you! I get it about the music. Sorry, just tried to find something I wouldn't get dinged for. :D Honestly, although I definitely see the damage to the coral, it is not as bad as it is where I live in South Florida. :( The past couple of trips, we've stayed at the Bodhi House on Ajax Peak (Air BNB). It's been awesome because it is so centrally located and provides easy access to Hwy 20.

Was in St John last week. Not sure when you were last there but there wasn’t much bleaching at all. Went to Kiddle, Salt Pond, Maho, Hansen (Pelican Rock), Big Lameshur, Little Lampshur and the mangroves in hurricane hole along with the BVIs at the Indians, caves off Norman Island, and Jost Van Dyke. The snorkeling was actually really good for us, better than years past. The mangroves, Kiddle, great lampshur, out to the right in salt pond, off to beaches left of pelican rock and the Indians were all the best I have seen. I think if you go to the busier North Shore beaches such as maho that have more traffic, the snorkeling is worse. Have been to St John 14 times since 2005. We stay on Coral Bay side.

@@chasepoodiack6819 Hmmm. Not sure if the bleaching has improved since April, 2024. Everyone in the STJ forum agrees- as does the marine biologist I met on island. Some spots are better than others, but compared to a very healthy reef, it is not doing so well. At least you had a great time. We have been many times as well but less than a dozen. You have us beat. We always stay in Cruz Bay. I did the Mangrove just before Haulover South (same side.) I think it was just down the big hill. I was not impressed. I think you need a kayak to get out to the better areas. Still STJ is our favorite, though prices are a bit out of control. Charge for coffee refills, substitution for veggies at H. Tide, etc. If you dare ask for regular water you get the eye roll. In context of the world, I suppose these are nice middle class problems to have. Thanks for sharing your video. Glad you had fun. Is there any other tropical island you can recommend? I was thinking about St. Lucia but my PT person said she was underwhelmed...and to stay on the side with the view of that epic mountain peak costs a small fortune. We did Playa Del Carmen- ok but once was enough. Paradise Island was decent but so far, STJ is it.
