We headed out to Baird Bay SA, South of Ceduna on the Eyre Peninsula. We camped the night at a small $10 camp - Baird bay Campground. We booked our tour which began at 9:30am and were lucky to find some wonderful fellow campers who offered to look after our dog Scout while we went on our tour!
It cost us $180 each and we were provided with wetsuits and snorkeling gear. The tour was absolutely amazing. We got to boat out to a seal colony and watch the seals running down into the water, sleeping on shore and swimming around the boat. There was a young seal swimming around screaming for its mum and it sounded like a child yelling 🤣 It was so funny!
We found an area where there were a few seals out in the water and we jumped in! The water was quite fresh, even with our wetsuits on. 🥶
The way the seals move in the water is mesmerising! They were so playful.... One of them got a bit too close and started chewing on Steph’s hair 🤣
We also got to see some dolphins and get out in the water with them but they were way too fast for us! 🐬
Out in the boat after swimming you can get cold quickly but we were provided with hot chocolate and bikkies to help warm us up.
The tour is run very well. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Baird Bay 🌊
