The BBC warned of snow and possible disruption - but their weather forecasts have been exaggerated recently so I took a day out to ride on HST trains and see the enthralling snow-covered scenery!

Thanks for your comment Frank. Winter is often a good time to see the scenery, although today there are no trains running at all yet in Scotland due to Storm Isha.

Great video! I've been to Scotland twice in my life, only brief stops at Lockerbie & Dumfries, but would love to travel more in the country and try and tick off some of the HSTs before they get retired! The scenery looked abosultely stunning, vastly different from what we get in the midlands....

Thanks for your comment - I always get a bit of a boost when other RU-vidrs view and comment. We know what it's like! This film had a music overlay and I'm never quite sure about that.

Yes, there are pockets of them here and there. The Highland main line and the GSW line Kilmarnock-Dumfries have stretches of them. See my film about Newtonmore and Kingussie.
