the secret to carrying the stick is to jam it in a snowbank :)

try coating the shute with oil to minimize the clogging, and also use 75 to 80% of the path so you don't have to fight the snow pack. overlapping your passes should make it easier 😄👍

Thank you for the feedback. I did use Wd-40 a few times to help the "exit". And you are right doing some overlaps does help reduce the snow being clogged. I have not used it this winter yet (was able to clear all snow with a a shovel so far) but looking forward to the next storm!

Thank you so much for this video. It had so much useful information. I just purchased this snow blower and I look forward to making snow cleaning easier than doing it with a shovel.

I’ve heard that spraying the chute with WD 40 helps to cause the wet heavy snow to flow better.

Thanks for posting, especially time lapsed. I used my blower first time last night and thought it wasn't working correctly, but performed just like yours with a few clogs. Not sure what I was expecting. Will use a stick now on - forgot that safety tip!

+William Bigler Glad you liked it! Also remember that you can use a little bit of WD--40 in the chute to make the snow "glide" as it exits.

According to the extension cord charts that I have seen, you probably should be using a 10 gauge extension cord for 100 ft. Otherwise you may overheat the motor or trip a circuit breaker.

Put that stick in your back pocket. Seeing you clean the shoot out 5 or more times makes me rethink my plan on getting one but great video. I guess for the price you get what you pay for

+dave m Thanks for watching! Yeah, with very heavy wet snow, as we had that day, it does happen sometimes but overall it still does a good job. We had ~10" of snow overnight here today and it did not jam even once but it was not as heavy and wet like it was in the video.

+ColoradoRMN I'm thinking about getting a Greenworks 13amp with LED light kit for $179.00 on Amazon with a US Wire extreme cold 12/3 Extention cord for $71. I looked at reviews for good corded blowers and the green works 26032 was rated very high but they are no longer selling them at the manufacture so I have to get the Greenworks series 2600502 with a LED LIght instead. 2 questions ok ? How much difference do you really think there is between the 13 amp blower compared to the 15 amp blower Also what brand of Extention cord would you recommend for weather at worse around 0 degrees. I believe I got a good extension cord in mind as I said up above but if I can save and not spend a lot more then I'm up for suggestion. I'm worn out with reviews and recommendations from Google and Amazon on blowers and ext cords.

+ColoradoRMN Also as you said in your video ABOUT pushing it to fast is correct. I'm going to baby mine the first few times and then learn what I can push and not push with this blower. Tricks n trades , give n takes of life's lessons , all in all (( respect the blower )) and it will do its job. I saw some people say there wouldn't run and blew up lol. That's probably cause they DIDN'T use the correct extension cord and used a normal home one that was generic or they plugged it into a bad outlet

+dave m the I have not used a 15 amp blower so I can't comment on that. Just note that if you go for the 15 amp, consider having a 20 amp receptacle/outlet (assuming your circuit/circuit-barker is rated at 20 amps). For our area here, they do not recommend maxing out the receptacle to full amp load. For 15 amp thrower, i'd make sure to have a 20 amp outlet/receptacle on a 20 amp circuit. I got a 100 feet 12/3 Yellow extension cord on amazon for $55; brand is US Wire. I need the full 100 feet but if you do not, go for shorter distance as more cord = more pain to deal with it when it is cold and the cord is not flexible due to being 12/3. If you do not need the blower now, you can wait. I got mine via online via some spring clearance sale.

You should have bought the other model that comes with the stick to clear the snow in the chute. I needs one for my deck so this electric one may do the job. Saw few of them on eBay under $120 at 15AMP and has the stick to clear the clogged chute.

They probably made that model after watching my video, :) Not sure if they had those back then but using own stick is not an issue for me. Glad they have a stick now.

I bought one of these it overloaded and tripped out the first time i used it after only eight feet of travel. After a few more trips it would only go a couple of feet before it tripped. The snow was really lite and abut 8" to 12" deep and I didn't force it. I think that it may have had a defective overload. I returned and got my money back.

I think you waited too long to blow the snow, it would be so much easier and cut thru like butter if you didn't wait till the snow hardened and turn to ice.

Zane Chen not only that but the packed snow that he was removing could of easily been done with a steady walk but he was going back and forth which was not necessary.

Excellent video and presentation. Thank you for the tips. I have a problem with an extension cord each time to plug in. I forgot to use the cord holder follow instructions. Now I will. You explain very well how to use an extension cord. Thank you. The most challenge using this product to use an extension cord that always on your way. Otherwise, snow thrower is nice and clean six inches of snow very well. I bought it last year. I used last winter, and I was using today again after a snow storm. We have a lot of snow in Colorado and I will not make it without Snow Joe snow thrower. Your video is very detail, professional and very informative. Thank you for share with us.

Thanks for taking the time to make the video. i just ordered this snow blower. Was your WD40 a spray or the red straw? Where did you get your 100 foot cord from?

It was a spray (with a removable red straw). The 100 ft cord was from Amazon.

How did you like it? Has it lasted 3 years? They are at walmart for $99 right now and I want to know if you reccomend it after having it 3 years. I only have a 2 car short driveway but I'm killing my back with the shovel and I dont have much money at the moment. I would plan on blowing the snow as frequent as possible because I'm sure it isn't powerful enough to go through deep snow
@TotalMishap
@TotalMishap 4 года назад
I don't understand why people buy such small snow blowers for large driveways. That little snow blower is good for decks or small driveways with fluffy snow. The people who seem to have mechanical issues are essentially abusing the machine. It's not made for that much work.
@SnowsLife
@SnowsLife 3 года назад
it takes 8 minutes to do his whole driveway. Unless you can throw snow 16 feet away on each side with a blower, this is the best bang for the buck at $200CAD or $150USD

Thanks for the post. Question about the power cord. The thrower I have is a 13amp. It kinda doesn't recommend that I go longer than a 50ft cord. I do need a 100fter though. It's been working alright for you though eh?
@ColoradoRMN
@ColoradoRMN 6 лет назад
For 100feet I did get that yellow (12/3) 100 foot cord as it can handle the distance and power with no issues ( it is big and heavy ). While the orange (100 ft. 16/3) may work, I would not use it as it may not be able to deliver the needed amps and under power the motor.
@lanagibbons
@lanagibbons 6 лет назад
it's the gauge of the cord that's important.
