@Deserve Not Desire That's true for basically any animal we humans find adorable, the fact that it can shred us to bits in a matter of seconds....BUT LOOK AT THAT FUR AND CUTE FACE !!!
As a cub, there fur is relatively soft. But, as they get older there fur gets stiff and almost like a wire. It’s because in there natural habitat there is snow, well normally. So, it has soft fur under that stiff fur to protect it from the cold. Not only that but I think they have black or darker skin to obtain heat.🙂
I agree with that..I 💗 snow leopards they are my favorite animal 😊 I like how she has a gentle voice with them, most animals respond better to that, even domestic animals
What gorgeous animals. I enjoyed this video very much. I couldn't take my eyes off the cats. Thank you for what you do in helping the animals and the environment.
Been in love with these cats since i was a little girl, i still have a pillow my gma made me with a female snow leopard and her 2 cubs. The serene look on the cats faces in my pillow is a mirror of river as she layed there relaxed. This helped bring me a little peace today, thank you for your work with these lovely animals!!!!
OMG I 💗 snow leopards they're my favorite animal..I was smiling through this whole video,I enjoy watching every video I can that have snow leopards in it 😁
My favorite big cat....so incredibly beautiful. I’m so glad that there are reputable zoos working together to keep this awesome cat from going extinct & giving us the opportunity to enjoy/learn about them. 😻😻😻😻
Моя тоже самая любимая и самая красивая из больших диких кошек! Необыкновенная! У них очень красивая мордочка, и умное выражение, нет такой дикости и свирепости, как у других. И в то же время ощущение силы исходит от них.
"It takes patience, a lot of time, and a little bit of love." Humbug. It takes a LOT of love - or you wont have the patience or be willing to devote the time!
I love snow leopards! They’re one of my favourite animals. Does the eye deformity mean that neither of them will be used for breeding? Or is it not genetic?
@@NinaBaby210 They're probably just referring to the Species Survival Plan or another breeding program. Zoo animals are matched to breed based on genetic diversity and health, with the goal being to maintain a healthy captive population, almost like a genetic multi-generational ark. If habitats are restored in the future, the animals produced by these programs can then be raised for release into the wild! Rewilding an animal coming from several generations of captive zoo animals would be a challenge in itself, but it has been done before.
I think it's brilliant to proactively teach them a habit like this, since if they ever need eye drops they might need them regularly over days, weeks, months, or longer, and you can't sedate an animal that often.
HAHAHA I have been looking everywhere for example of a big cat getting eye drops cuz I was thinking about my cat and giving him his eye drops lately and how hypothetically it would be for a big cat owner
I know a family whose cat is called River. If there were melanistic snow leopards, then maybe River could be a giant version of their cat.. Also, hearing about them having furry inner eyelids gives me sympathy pain.
At the end of the day...they are still wild creatures....keepers must always be mindful of that...if they feel threatened in any way...they will go into a defensive mode of some kind
The SSP director will make a decision on where the animal ends up, and where it's needed, but at the same time they'll be separated before sexual maturity or during heat cycles, I can assure you no animals in these facilities are on birth control or anything like that
Snow Leopards born in captivity usually are acclimated to the weather of the place they were born. The fur grows thicker or thinner depending on the cat's needs and the season. Their fluff has its own way of cooling them down too. But zoos with snow leopards almost always have an escape area that's air conditioned just in case its too hot out.
These cats are part of a vital SSP for the protection of wild snow leopard populations, rest assured these animals live a luxurious life compared to the one they would be living in the snowy hills of Nepal.
@Jayne Eyre No, you are misinformed. Snow leopard is the closest relative of the tiger. And, if Arabian leopards which weigh 30 kilos are called big cats, why not snow leopards who weigh twice that?
most of us animal people are like this lol. Verbal positive reinforcement is a valid reward used in training though, it's proven effective to give the verbal reward and the food at the same time so they associate one with the other and then keepers can use verbal reinforcement without treats with the same effect
i dont think its a good idea to talk like that to the cats and on television.... might teach ppl you can treat them like a dog when theyre very dangerous animals
@@parley1994 well children don't know any better and some people buy wolf dogs. not to mention the various people who actually fraternize with big cats and might teach ppl that you might be able to "tame" one.... this woman low key enforces that notion
@@majesticoolmuffin7992 using a " baby voice" when working with animals is a common thing with animal professionals. The purpose is to make the animal feel more comfortable. Again, if someone is stupid enough to think a leopard can be a pet. This video isn't going to influence it either way.
Snow leopard needs freedom! Why don't you trade places, see how you'd like to be paraded, tail fluffed etc! What's wrong with you people????!!!!! Get these beautiful creatures back into the wild! They're not intended for human entertainment!! SICK!!!
