Snow Plowing A Mountain With an ATV // OFF GRID WINTER 

👏🏼🤣🤣 Shoveling snow can be rewarding but so frustrating! Even with the snow plow, it’s still more work than fun. But, We are sooo thankful for our neighbor letting us borrow it! This was the one time I was totally fine plowing my neighbors driveway!🌲

Always! The ATV kicks ass in the snow, but still has its limitations. 🌲

We wanted people to feel our pain haha! Better gloves are definitely on the list for this year. Not too sure why we stuck with these gloves, I think it’s just what we had 😂

Thanks for watching Kevin! The deepest snow I’ve plowed was about a foot. But the temps were cold and the snow was fluffy still. I never let the snow build up. I always plowed right after, or during a storm. If the temps started rising after a storm, the snow would turn into heavy, slushy ice, making it impossible to plow past 6” At the end of the day, the ATV plow is not the best option in terms of comfort and being exposed to the elements, BUT it is still an awesome option and kicked ass. Is it as effective or comfortable as say, a truck with a cab and a heater? Not at all.

The condensation was definitely a huge challenge. Propane heat produces more moisture, so we woke up to the windows being covered in water droplets before we installed the wood stove. The dry wood heat helped tremendously, but we still had puddles of water underneath our bed area, from condensation - more on that in future episodes! But I will say that having a mattress cover in any RV is a MUST!

😂 You know what man, on paper, getting to ride an ATV in the snow everyday sounds like a blast! And it was. BUT it quickly became a chore. It was time consuming, required getting cold, wet, and uncomfortable. But man did it make the wood stove all the more enjoyable and there was always a sense of pride and accomplishment that came with plowing.. until it snowed over night, erasing all my work! 👏🏼🤣🤷🏻‍♂️

Finland?! So cool! Thanks for tuning in and reaching out to us! 🙏🏼 The most obvious con, is the fact that you are fully exposed to the elements. Even with full winter gear, expect to be cold and wet. 🥶 The ATV plow kicked ass, way beyond the workload that was intended for it! Without it, we literally wouldn’t have been able to stay up here, and there would be no footage to watch. The ATV does have limitations compared to a tractor or truck plow. Both of those options offer more power and larger plow blades. Most importantly, you get to sip your coffee, inside a warm, dry cab. 😉♨️🌲
