Snowapple Collective and the artist village of Ruigoord invited indigenous water protectors and local water women to an art residency. During the residency, we created art and music to address the water crisis. Uniting through creativity, and standing together for what is right. This is the message of Joyful Action. During this monumental night at Paradiso, we shared music and art created during the residency, in collaboration with Marijke Kodden and her documentary "KIVA: The Call Of The Wisdom Keepers”.
Our goal was to create art and music, and to exchange knowledge about our cultures, histories, and joyful actions. Our guests from native lands shared knowledge from their ancestors about how to live harmoniously with nature.
Ruigoord is a community outside of Amsterdam formed by squatters in 1973 which ultimately became a harmonious magnet for seekers of music, freedom and art.
