Thanks for the excellent in-depth review! I believe that the D rings on the top on either side are meant for connecting a net. It makes sense not to hang one's net in the center of a *backpack*, since if it's full, the net won't hang straight down and will be more like to detach unintentionally. Also, I think the little fabric "tubes" below the zingers are for stowing whatever tools you have attached to the zingers, so they aren't flapping around. Probably good if you've got to hike a ways. I have one and it is awesome! Pleased with the storage capacity in the back pack, front pockets for fly boxes and zipper pockets for other items. It is super comfortable, too. I highly recommend.

You won't be disappointed. I'm in Europe currently and left mine back in Canada. I miss it dearly and can't wait to get reunited. Shoud've packed it along for these mountain streams but had no space!
Excellent review. I’m definitely interested in this. I currently have a sling pack, which has a lot of the same features but I find my back is sore after a day of fishing. I think it’s because the sling pack. So I want to move to a vest/pack and this seems to have everything I want. My main concern is the lack of a D Ring for a net. What do you use for your net?
As said in review it really needs a rear D ring for a net. Also seeing people complaining about the velcro shoulder adjusters getting worn and not working so a clip style adjustment would be better. For me these are important points so not sure I'll be buying one.

Thanks for the review- this has been really helpful. One question I did have though was in relation to net storage. It’s the only major flaw in the design I could see so just wondering where you kept your net whilst out on the river using this vest/backpack?
Great question. I ended up hooking a small loop to the coat hanger loop and draping it over the back of the bag to my magnet clip for the net. Works like a charm.
