Snowdonia | A short walk in and out to Cwm Amarch

Hi Everyone
Welcome back to my channel, and the last of my three walks I did whilst we were away on holiday in the beautiful Snowdonia National Park.
This is only a short walk. I wasn't feeling too well, full of a cold, but it was such a beautiful morning I wanted to get out and get some fresh air in my lungs. Haha
Again, setting off from the beautiful St Mary's Church Tal-y-Llyn (link below), we followed the narrow road by the side of the lake until and old abandoned farm before heading steeply up the hill to the magnificent Cwm Amarch where we had a stop for some breakfast and to take in the amazing views. After 30 minutes or so it was back following the same route we went up and back to the church.

Wow, look at those views! Stunner🤩⛰️. The sun makes everything look so much more beautiful. What a day you got for this short hike Dave. Sometimes the short walks really pack a punch, when you have more time to stop and soak in those vistas! We bet you didn't want to come home from your converted church 🤩. Hi Guys, firstly loving the new logo! 😀 Yeah this was such a beautiful morning. When I got up in to the cwm I literally could have sat there all day. It was so peaceful, just complete silence. It was a very steep hike up to it though, a proper lung burner. We have already said we will be going back there next year, we just love it so much. Thanks so much for taking time to watch, your support is so much appreciated. I'm back in the Lake District on Sunday, fingers crossed the dry weather holds. Hi Niall. Yeah, I was feeling a little rough this morning, I was full of a cold but with such a nice morning I was not going to let it stop me getting out. I’d had my eye on going in to this cwm for the last couple of years. I’d looked down in to it and always said I want to be in it, so this was my chance. It wasn’t easy mind. It was a steep pull up. Hi Jamie. I felt roughy this morning. My cold was in full flow. But, the wonderful fresh welsh mountain air was just the tonic. What a valley this is, and I reckon I saw a possible route up on to the ridge. Might check it out next year. 😃 Have a great weekend mate. Looks like a great vantage point to take in the scenery there Dave. Super quite as well compared to the lakes. I've got covid so can't get out this week but hopefully better for the Cumbrian Way next week🤞

@@trekkingwithtony Covid? I didn’t think that was still a thing? 🤣. It was a belting little walk mate, not much distance but it was a steep old pull in to the cwm. So quiet though, I just love it in that area. Keep away from the tourist path up Cadair Idris and you’ve pretty much got the place to yourself. Hope the weather plays ball mate next week. My one piece of advice, don’t compare the last day to any of the others because it isn’t. Buts it’s special in its own way. There’s no mountains or hills or rugged terrain but it’s a beautiful countryside walk. Are you doing it on your own or with Alison?

@@DAoutdoors Covid is a thing this week mate 😂. I didn’t have it during actual Covid. Sounds a good one. I’ll be over there again at some point soon I’m sure. Yes, Allison is coming with me. We aren’t camping due to weight as I’m not sure Allison should carry anything but a day bag because of dodgy joints. Fingers crossed for the weather 🌦️ 🥾⛰️

@@ashleyjarnold Hi Ashley, thank you so much for your kind comments. Haha, no I say we, because the people who watch is are doing the walk as well! 🤣 I was on my own for all these walks in Wales. I’ve been wanting to do this walk for a while. Twice I’ve been on the ridge looking down in to the cwm but I’ve always wanted to be in it looking up. It was beautiful and so peaceful. Had a great walk along a canal and saw a lock in operation, did record it on camera and relive so might edit it this weekend, though weather is sunny and we're off to a local NT place today - done a few videos from it before but if Andrea is up for a walk then I'll relive it and see what happens.
