How do you keep the lines and valves from freezing in the winter?

Water hydrants are set so the valves are underground and self draining. Everything above ground has moving water in it so it doesn’t freeze.

Does snow guns need compressors as well or the fan acts like a compressor?

These guns have an onboard compressor for the nucleator. It helps break up the water particles and can be adjusted for the temperature range.
