Ricki does a real quick DIY ski alignment on a snowmobile using regular tools on a Mountain Cat, Arctic Cat. Remember, your track must be aligned in order to align your skis. We really appreciate the subscriptions because we need 1000 subscribers!!

I use tie downs on the handlebar to the back of the tunnel to hold them in place while adjusting the skis. I also use a bungie to hold the ski tips tight. For measurement I also use a long steel angle along the track and a smaller angle along the keel of the ski, then take my measurement at the forward most and aft most carbide mount.

You're videos are awesome and super helpful. I've grown up working on vintage artic cat sleds with my dad since the mid 90's and my girlfriend and I have upgraded to two "new" 2013 F800! This weekend I'm going to start the process of going through the two sleds checking everything. All of your videos are much appreciated as I know very little on the newer sleds! Thank you for putting your channel together! I owe you a few brews some day!!

This works good, unless your skis are not symmetrical (ie., tips of skis are wider than the tails). I measure to the center of the ski as best I can.

Exactly what was thinking. I go to the nuts on the carbide and not the inside of the skis.

You are correct !! If you can measure from the centre of the ski and closest to tip and tail , that would be as accurate as you can get , most skis have a taper so thats why I keep the tolerance low !

Nice video thanks! Where exactly are you supposed to measure on the skis? It would seem the closer your front to back distance is on the ski 1/8 of an inch would yield a wider toe out than if you measured let’s say from the complete tip to tail?

This would help mine was on the lift when I did mine so I would get it perfect then go to tighten the nuts and everytime it would move lol

Appreciate all the videos! Would you know what might be wrong if one side the tie rod threads are bottomed out and its still out of whack (toed in)? Thx.

@@DIGIT9 Thanks for the response, i finally sorted it out, the drag link was off kilter to the handle bars when trying to line the dot up and i had the tie rod in upside down on that side. Was wondering if you have any old parts for sale, am looking for a driven clutch #0726-113 for a 2001 Zr600 or at least the movable sheave 0748-023. Thx.

Just curious if it would toe in that 1/4 inch with a rider on it

Nice but you are just eyeballing the measurements, unless you are butting against the ski
