It's about time someone posted a vintage video of Rupps! I had friends that rode them and I always liked their styling, but I never rode one. My uncle ran a Polaris shop in Ladysmith, WI so that's the route dad took us. Still like seeing those old Rupps though! Thanks for posting!

Thanks for watching! I appreciate the support! I love old Rupp's! My family also had a Rupp Roadster minibike back in the 70s. Video coming soon! Thanks again!

Friend of mine in lac du bonnet, manitoba had a rupp back in the 70's. Good machine pretty good speed. Parents had Polaris's, good memories.

Your uncle ran that shop in the 1970's? I grew up in Cornell back then....a lot of people had sleds back then, some of those folks had multiple sleds.

@@user-cc4vo6bd4p Yes, he did. I think he was a Polaris dealer from 1972 to 1982. He also did small engines and outboards until he retired a few years back. Chuck's Marine was the name.

@@kennethgoin628 Wow! I don't recall the name, however, I'm sure some of my oldest sister's friends would remember it. That's cool!

I owned the 1972 Yankee 440. It came equipped with a cigarette lighter 😅

My uncle had a ski doo with a cigarette lighter. As a youngster, i was completely fascinated with the idea. From there, i tried to talk my dad into putting a car radio in our sled. He didnt go for it, but i never forgot about that cigarette lighter

My dad started dealing Dart Karts while racing them in the early 60s and he moved right into snowmobile,mini bikes ,Go-Joes, Ruppsters etc late 60s until 78 when Rupp went out.. those were the good ole days, as a kid I “helped” uncrate them and got to test ride most of the sleds in central western NY… I would give my left nut for a Nitro 2 440!!!! I had a 25American that I put a TR440 Nitro racing engine on and tricked everyone with,never lost a race however when the throttle cable froze wide open and hit a tree at well over 70 the tree won 😁🤣… good times, would like to relive the 70s and 80s…

How does that (almost) look nicer than todays sleds 😂
@ronfox5519
@ronfox5519 2 месяца назад
They were more convient because they were smaller and cheaper. And gave the rider more feedback. At slower speeds and on tight trails, they were a nicer experience. Not better than todays sleds, but definitely more appealing.
