Been riding the hill since 73 (skiroule rtx 447,and many others since). Grab the good conditions when you can. Saturdays after lunch, with no snow elsewhere, surely can lead to prostate problems!! LOL
Curious...never ridden up there. Where did you park and start at? What was your destination? Looks like Friday is the day to go. Trails seem way less crowded than a weekend day. Straight trails = faster speeds + inexperience = bad news. I stopped riding Old Forge on weekends years ago because of it. Has upstate NY gotten better?
True. And when the lake effect isnt so localized try Penn Mountain to the south. Lots of farmland and little traffic compared to the typical Highmarket/flat rock/montague/barnes corners/redfield loop the masses like to ride. Easy to pop 200 mile saturdays from the bowling alley on rt. 12. to places like Williamstown, selkirk shores, Camden, or head east to Ohio, Poland, etc. Just needs the lake effect to blow south like in a normal year.
