I just pulled mine down yesterday and sanded and applied the first coat of varnish and will do a 2d, 3d coat over the next couple of days. Good reminder though for those of us that don't use the new aluminum shoes. Thanks as always for the great info and tips Dan. Until next time stay safe and warm……Ed

I use Costco metal ones but one day I’ll have a pair of those beauties. Totally agree you need them if you have any depth of snow

Good video I’ve waked many miles on snow shoes and agree maintenance is important When the varnish wares off the banish becomes wet it’s like rubber bands

I wld love to live in pa. Im stuck down here in maryland right on the edge of baltimore city. I work for the local government down here, utilities type of work, water, sewer lines etc. Im looking to move north but not canadian north, like i said pa north lol. How are the job oportunities in the area u live dan? I've said it before but i appreciate the knowledge & time it takes for u to shoot, edit, upload etc i know a lot goes into it. Helps city slickers like me who dont actually get to experience the homestead/outdoor experience without vacationing & or taking off work to do so. I wld very much like to get a taste of homesteading up close & personal bc i know enough to know that watching u do it and actually living it is two totally different worlds. In any case brother thank u for doing what u do,my 7 year old son & myself really enjoy watching ur extremely educational videos 👍👍👍🇺🇸

I have nylon lacing for my Ojibway type snowshoes. I need to use polyurethane varnish for this type of lacing.

I've used Sorel pac boots for years. My wooden shoes have neoprene lacings not rawhide. No damage.
