Hi, Driving up in late February in a 2wd Car for four nights. I know it's ideal to have 4wd but I feel that I will be fine if I just watch the weather and don't drive after a storm or when it's actively snowing hard. I saw a few 2wd cars driving on the road. What do you think?
Yes, definitely do not attempt the drive up if roads are snow covered. If snow has stopped, wait a few hours at the bottom until you see some improvement. They are very good at cleaning the roads, especially after a snowfall.
hey are trip is tomorrow do you think a ford explore would be a good choice? or its a bad choice because we are mainly worried about going down that's the bad part
If slushy, probably. If snow covered, the key is your tires. A snow tire can't be beat, but an all season with good tread, may be okay. Rear wheel drive will also be an issue though. Luckily Snowshoe is good at keeping roads cleared and cindered.
