In a kingdom lived the beautiful Snow White. Her stepmother, the queen, could not tolerate anyone being more beautiful than herself and asked her mirror daily who was the fairest of them all. The mirror always answered that Snow White was more beautiful. Enraged, the queen ordered a huntsman to kill Snow White. However, the huntsman spared her life, and Snow White fled into the forest, where she lived with seven dwarfs. The queen, discovering Snow White was still alive, made three attempts to kill her, all unsuccessful. Finally, she succeeded with a poisoned apple. However, a prince discovered Snow White, fell in love, and with a kiss, Snow White awoke. Snow White and the prince married, and the wicked stepmother was punished.
The story of Snow White teaches that inner beauty is more important than outward appearance. It also shows that jealousy and malice ultimately bring unhappiness to oneself. Additionally, it conveys the message that love and kindness have the power to overcome all adversities.
