The cool thing about taking a hiatus from SNS is when it returns us viewers will welcome it like an old friend. That's a hard lesson learned at the museum. Many others have had the same experience over the decades. Hopefully insurance will cover the loss because that looked like a nice collection, worth a good sum.

I'm living in southwest Utah, so I'm heading over to Adventures of Shadow right now to check.. him out. There is soooo much awesome material here so i cant wait to see what hes been pulling out! Im originally from Lake Tahoe, Northern California, and been rockhounding since childhood and deep into lapidary for a bit over ten years, I know I have a ton to learn about the surrounding areas. I thank you for being honest! I live in Canada and have been collecting rocks , fossils for 13 years. I feel comfortable with identifying most of my finds, but I am still learning how to cut and polish them. I have been watching many videos on rockhounding, there are many awful videos for sure! I am glad that I found your channel 😄. I would like to send you pictures of my colection. All of the items I have, were found across Canada. Awe man I always love the Saturday night special, but if you need a break I understand. I’m already subscribed to Adventures of Shadow. I’ll have to check out some of the other channels. Hey if you ever come across any good information on Union road agates let me know 😅 I’m really getting into those! To bad the area where they’re located is totally developed. But whatever we’re trying! We looked Saturday in a construction site in the area. Anyway that’s my obscure Rockhounding obsession… currently 😉 make sure you safety squint everybody!

The theft at the Rice Museum is heart breaking. Thank you for giving more detail about it.

I would suggest if people want to find spots to rockhound, people should see if they have a local rock club they can join. They are great resources as well!

last rockhound of 2023 today yielded 3 lbs of agates from the John Day River in Oregon. Thanks for the inspiration to get outside.

The last time there was a gold thief at the Rice museum, it was done by a family member.

We live in the middle of a war between good and evil.

Not procescuting property crimes makes them multiply greatly. The Courthouse in Siskiyou County got robbed too.

If anybody deserves a break, it's you! You are absolutely one of the hardest working RU-vidr I've ever known. And even taking a break, you plan to work on your other avenues that helps this community! Your website is awesome and has so much great information in it for us rock enthusiasts. And your podcast is great as well! It gives us the highlights of all the old rock and gem magazines and discusses what's good and what's not in them! . And I can't say enough bought your channel. You have so many great videos up there that gives honest, helpful I do about the location. And if that isn't enough, you put a trip report about each location on your website! You have given so much to this community, and if you need a break from the SNS, by all means take it. It's well deserved. And the rice museum break in is just heart breaking. I think they should have maybe had fakes of the real displays in the case, so if this happened they wouldn't get the real specimens. Especially gold! That's something that can be melted down and nobody can tell where it came from and those beautiful specimens are gone forever! It's a shame though. That museum is just amazing! And Justin K Prim is just the most amazing man! And he decided to challenge himself and try and master the jam peg system of cutting that the master cutters of Europe started on and many are still using! Those machines rely on muscle memory to cut a perfect stone! It's amazing! And Ive followed Justin for a while before I saw him on your video! I'm not a faceter either, but I appreciate his work and the whole faceting history! And I will check out those channels you suggested. They sound great. And I look forward to more episodes of your podcast. I just wanted to say thank you, for everything you do for this community, and us subscribers most especially. Gosh what you got planned is like waiting for the holidays all over again, but worse because it will be worth it. Bum deal with the Rice Museum, my oldest just moved to Beaverton and we were thinking of swinging by when we visit him next. Like I don't have enough data to consume you wanna give me more quality stuff to devour. I'll go out of my comfort zone this one time and give those channels a go. As always hoping the next years worst is greater then last years best.

So I'm not sure where she got that nor where it originates as a saying however.. The RU-vid channel AVE , WHICH FEATURES THE CANADIAN GUY'S HANDS TALKING ABOUT LIFE AND ALSO TAKING TOOLS APART AND HE SELLS STICKERS AND THINGS THAT ARE LIKE THAT. Anyway long story short because of him I now know that the safety squints it's just like if you close your eyes before you do something that you should be wearing glasses for you know you just squint your eyes closed instead of putting your glasses on.
