i'm not a sone but after watching all 3 of your videos i realized how good Jessica's adlibs are.. they are super smooth and on-point.. if i have to say, all of them tried, but those are Sica's part for a reason...
She adds a lot of color to their songs with her high, powerful voice. Even though they still have Taeyeon who sounds fairly similar, it's just not the same without Jessica.
When the song was soft they gave it to yoona. When the song needed belts they gave it to tiffany. When the song was cute they gave it to sunny. When the song just needed good singing the gave it to sooyoung and teayeon. If the part was small they gave it to other members. Who should have all of those parts is Jessica. No one can do it like her :( That's how I see it but they did an awesome job covering for her. I love my girls
Actually Sunny sang most of Jessica's cover not just the cute parts. She covered all aspect cute, sexy, powerful, heartfelt, badass, etc. You need to go back & watch the concert.
the girls did a decent job at covering her parts. the ones that should be getting them are yoona and sunny because their voices are the most similar to jessica, sunny also has a higher register so she can probably go as high as jessica when she does her high notes. seohyun and taeyeon can probably do the harder parts if it is too difficult for the other girls. it is evident that the absence of jessica's voice in their songs, she was one of the factors of what made SNSD's color musically. it's like not having taeyeon in an snsd song, it just isn't the same. sad to see she isn't in soshi anymore but we can't do anything about other than support both sides. jess seems to be living a lot happier these days and this experience has probably made snsd stronger.
agree. many don't realize that jess is the true identity of each snsd song. when she left its just different. yes Taeng has the best techniques in SNSD, but Jessica has the most unique vocal in the group.
@@radiantant4338 yes, basically Jess was main vocalist with Tae, so, when the group lost a main vocalist, they lost their signature voice and backbone too.
Sunny and Taeyeon for me did the best at covering Jessica's parts. However the boys, and I got boy made it evident that Jessica has a higher range than Taeyeon. I could hear Taeyeon straining to cover Jessica's notes in I got a boy especially. Tiffany did well at times but I could hear Tiffany straining at parts. The other thing that I realised thanks to this video is that Jessica has pretty good melisma. In fact apart from taeyeon I don't think any other member is as skillful when it comes to runs.
i agree but I feel that if we put too many high notes on Taeyeon it will strain her voice and tired her out. Taeyeon has enough high notes as it is and I'm scared if people force more of Jessica lines to her it would exhaust her. Sunny can do Jessica lines well but I also think Yoona, Yuri, Seohyung, sooyoung, Hyoyeon, and Tiffany did well in Jess part too. We are not use to other member singing Jessica part but that doesn't mean that they didn't do well. I think everyone did wonderful. Besides Jessica voice is irreplaceable
tiffany strains everytime, even her own parts but is even more evident when she's singing jessica parts. that's the sad part about jessica's parts nobody is gonna cover them really well because of how high her voice is. but in the regular parts yoona does a good job. (i don't really like sunny bc is like she's trying to sound like jessica)
fashionsucks I think only certain notes tiffany strain jessica part. Like the really high notes. We all know tiffany and Jessica voice are different. Jessica has a much higher voice than Tiffany husky tone. I think tiffany still sounds good when she sings jess part. It just depend on the person taste. Some people may like it some don't :)
tiffany doesn't have a husky tone, she's nasal. and i'm not talking about taste or tone because that depends on the person- but on techniques. and tiffany strains a lot. that's why she sounds like she is screaming or like she's pushing too much.
yoona sunny and tiff are doing a great job, tiffany is one of the vocal line, but yoona is doing agreat job than iam expected, sunny is great too, why they dont give her more line
Sunny and Jessica’s voice are both bright and high recognition in SNSD. Powerful and holds its own specialty. But My oh my I prefer Tiffany’s voice to sing “my oh my” cuz this song is kind like cute American style song. It’s really suit Tiffany.
please remind SMEnt, that Hyo still part of this group, she doesn't always be back-singer for the group, she can sing as well as the other members. HYO can SING!
Sunny really did a great job of covering sica's part, especially Indestructible and Nor Alone. SHE did AN AMAZING JOB. Her voice is so sweet, just like Sica.
To me, i think that her parts were generally well-covered, but some parts are like undeniably and uniquely hers only, though i see their effort and hard work trying to make themselves sound more like her. Hopefully one day SONEs and Maomaos will be reunited once again :)
secretperson920 true! The thin high-type are the kinds I find only suitable for her. It sounds like yoona's voice but a bit higher with a bit more strength.

Her voice is stable. Perhaps even more stable than Jessica but she doesn't have the power, unique tone, or range that Jessica has which adds so much more character to their songs.
I'm lazy to name out the songs but in my opinion, Sunny & Yoona help to fill in a bit of Sica's feel. (Of course Sica is irreplaceable, yes we all know) Although Yoona is really weak in singing, she does give a nice touch to some songs cause her voice is baby sweet. Sunny covers well enough. The problem with Sunny not being recognized more widely is because generally her voice is not as strong as Sica. However, some songs don't need strong vocals but people are used to stronger vocals cause it sounds powerfully good. Sunny portrays the lines in her own way (not lacking in terms of strong voice) when it comes to certain songs. EG. (FOR SOME SEXY SONGS) I feel that she brings out a sexy but softer version (like drowsy mermerizing) while Sica is sexy but stronger (like hot & sexy). Okay so the rest of the girls covered well for many parts of Sica too. But some did better like say Fany. There are a few songs in which she definitely covered great & better than Sunny cause those songs require strong & loud vocals. And Fany sings with more strain just like Sica as compared to Tae. (Now we comparing more to who can cover Sica parts better ok?) Tae is generally good enough to cover just that Sunny gives a better feel cause of her sweeter and higher vocal range. Seo (Seo didn't do for me in Mrmr) & Soo (Soo was well in Gee) do well enough. Yuri did really well for sexy low parts covering Sica. Cant comment much abt Hyo cause afterall her vocal range is not as good and nothing near to Sica. So overall, in terms of feel and technique for Sica parts, Sunny and Fany did the best in more songs! :) That's what I think.
Don't compare who sing sica's part better anymore:( I think in 9irlsgeneration, no one can replace sica's sound. But the other members have already try their best to cover. Don't compare their sound, both the eight members and sica have unique sound and they are all good. As SONE, just enjoy different version of these songs.
They should give seohyun some parts. Cause she has the nearest voice of sica. Not always tiffany. Sometimes she was screaming and i don't understand. its not good in ears. Sorry. But thats the truth.
I don't think it's right to use a studio recording for most of jessica's parts and then compare them to a live performance of the other members... Obiously the studio recording of Jessica sounds better. I think that Jessica can never be truly replaced. She was the one who sang these parts originally and we are used to hearing her voice for these parts. The same goes for the choreos. The dances are made for 9 dancers, not 8. BUT than being said, I think they did a great job giving Sica's lines to other members with suited voices and they worked the choreos with 8 people nicely! I think Taeyeon, Seohyun and Sooyoung did amazing job! I was especially surprised hearing Sooyoung, her vocals have improved SO MUCH lately! Sunny's and Yoona's voices really fit Jessica's parts as well. I liked other members as well, but I think they shouldn't give Tiffany any of Jessica's high notes... She fits other parts perfectly, but her voice cracks ofter when singing high notes. Don't get me wrong.. I love Tiffany's voice color to pieces!! But she isn't the most stable performer when it comes to high notes.
Rating 1. Sunny (Sunny voice is almost identical to that of Jessica & they both habe that comforting feeling to them but that's not why shes #1. She took the top spot because unlike the others she didn't try to be Jessica but made the parts hers. She put her personality into those covers. She was unhappy but she had a duty to her friend & she delivered. She had everything technique, the voice, the feel & herself. She didn't try to replace Jessica but she sang the parts as her in memory of her friend and I think that's what held her together cause you could see that she wasn't happy with her friend not being there) 3. Sooyoung/Yoona (They captured the comforting feel somewhat but they lack techniques) 4. Seohyun (did a good job but like Fany & Tae didn'treally give you that feeling Jessica had. Sound good but not great) 5. Yuri/Hyoyeon (barely had any but they nailed the few lines they got) 8/9. Taeyeon (they have great voices but considering how soothing & comforting Jessica voice was they didn't do her justice. Sound good and all but you didn't get that comforting feeling you'd get from Jessica. Also Tiffany was trying too hard to sound like Jessica. We all know the Ice Princess is one in a million)
I like all the covers, it's just that Jessica can hit a particular pitch that none of the others can manage to get, which is what made her contribution so important I think.
She has a very unique voice that no idol has. It's like a high-pitched voice. No one can cover it and even so, it will be SO different... It's sad that SNSD lost a sweet, dorky, talented, beautiful member... As a true SONE, I'm not gonna blame Taeyeon for Jessica's departure because we all still don't know the main reason why she left. They all look so happy together as 9. So no matter what, SNSD will ALWAYS be 9, not 8, not 5, but 9 ❤️❤️ #OT9FOREVER

Miss OT9, but now thing that Sone can is supporting them. Jessica has the most soft & sweet voice. All of them covered well especially high notes. Jessica's high notes are clear daebak.
Amazing how the member who had the second most lines (maybe first in Japan) is removed and Hyo still got no lines... C'mon SM she isnt bad. Taeyeon and Sunny did a good job, Seohyun and Yoona did an amazing job. Jessica had the most unique voice by far but things change and they dont sound bad so no real criticisms for their music
Every time when Jessica sings “Girls bring the boys out” always make me feel so amazing. Her voice is the easiest to recognize in SNSD. Her special and powerful voice make her parts can’t be replaced. High pitch in my oh my IMO Tiffany may more suit than that of Sunny. Taeyan’s singing always full of emotion and really enjoying makes her being a successful singer, but I still prefer Jessica’s version no doubt lol.
The girls all have amazing voices, very unique and each bring something to the group as a whole. The ladies obviously can't sing Sica's parts just like she had, it's simply impossible! But as they've shown throughout the time as OT8, they do a very good job regardless. It will never be the same since Sica's parts were written for her voice, but Soshi do a remarkable job showcases their voices and making the parts work for their vocals. Proud SONE and Jessica supporter. xx

Yoona cannot sing? I admit she is not the best singer in snsd. Listen to her covers of jess again. She did it perfectly without any crack and her singing is quite smooth. I know jess is good. But dont underrate the other members :(
i think i love seohyun's "not alone" part more>< sorry sica she did well on the "flyers" too. the song i'll miss jessica doing is the "i got a boy" high parts. it suits her voice so well and "the boys" taeyeon does well in "girls bring the boys out" part its just the english sooyoung does a good job too:) i think more parts should be for seohyun than tiffany cus her voice doesn't strain
For some reason everyone keep on telling me that Tiffany voice cracked in every part she cover for Jessica. But from what I see, her voice only cracked like *two times* throughout the ENTIRE concert. One was in divine where Tiffany looked like she was about to break down and cry (which she kind of did after she sang Jessica part but she tried to hide her sadness with a smile). The other part is here in the "get wild" part but that's pretty much it. lol I guess *some fans* can over *exaggerate* when it comes to degrading Tiffany... Oh well, what can you do? *I think everyone in SNSD did amazing in covering Jess part. There are some parts where I like it better if Jess sang it but there are some part where I like the other member singing it. They all did amazing in putting out this concert. GG FIGHTING* BTW in 10:23 is Hyoyeon!
Roger Rogerick she doesn't cover Jessica part in some of those songs. I'm saying when she sang Jessica part her voice didn't cracked in most songs. So tiffany voice only cracked in two sing which is indestructible and divine. I went to their concert FYI.
I think Taeyeon and Seohyun does the best job covering Jessica's parts, I'm not very fond of Tiffany or Sunny covering her because they sound very different and Idk, I just don't like it. Yoona was surprisingly good but prefer Jessica. Really didn't think Yuri and Sooyoung did a good job even though I like them the most...Idk it gives me the wrong feeling.
jessica's voice is very distinctive. i personally always recognise her voice in every snsd songs, i bet we all do. and that's the big reason why i will definitely miss to hear her voice in snsd song (in the future).
I prefer Tiffany, Taeyeon, Seohyun, Yoona, Sooyoung, Yuri, Sunny, and Hyoyeon to cover Jessica's Parts. They Did an Awesome Job! For me .. Truthfully i like the original voice which is jessica because all of the part was originally created for her voice and she was the first voice i hear for each song and also she have a very unique voice which no one can replace .. But the other members also good in covering her part . They already tried their best .. SNSD fighting !

Did Taeyeon try to pull a Tiffany (forcing the note out or just loudness) at 3:26 and again at 4:19...wow. Even she can't hit Jessica's high notes...pretty amazed. I love Taeyeon's ballads, wished Jessica had more. Also, wish they'd let Sooyoung sing more.
It's not that their voice is bad, you guys are just used to Jessica singing those parts that's why you prefer jessica. But I think yoona, sunny, and taeyeon did a great job

Why do you need to compare the version of Jessica to the other members? They're voice are all unique from each other. But if you will ask me who have the most unique voice among them, it's not Jessica. It's Hyoyeon. :) Next is Jessica, then Yoona. Imagine SNSD performing Gossip Girls without Hyoyeon. It's obvious that Jessica's voice is standing out among them. Yoona? She have the most relaxing voice among them. :D
I dont know if you guys have seen the picture where snsd is in an arcade game and sm is the crane that pulls jessica out and the other members are trying to pull her back. Every time I see it my chest gets tight and it really sucks how we'll probably never know if it was sm, the girls themselves, or something else that forced jessica out of the group.
I noticed that Sunny generally gets her cutesier singing parts she had, Taeyeon gets the ones where she really hit high notes, sometimes Tiffany, and Seohyun, Yuri and Yoona generally get her softer singing parts.
I agree for the most partt but have just a few more observations: Taeyeon - gets the highest notes unless her own come right before or after then they go to Tiffany Tiffany - the belting ones that sometimes she can't quite reach but she takes on anyways and turns it into her own naturally sultry style Seohyun - a bit lower and softer belts she ends up a bit flat on sometimes which is weird because other times she'll nail an even more difficult note. Someone on here mentioned her breathing techniques (to prepare for the next note, for example) aren't very good so that could by why she's up and down a lot. Sunny - middle range and some soft belts that do often sound cutesy Yuri - easy parts she sings in her own naturally low register (unlike Jessica) Yoona - the soft beginning or ending of songs that any layperson could perform (sorry, but her voice is more suited for musicals cuz in pop she's very one-noted) Sooyoung - anything with hardly any deviation in the note and little projection Hyoyeon - like 2 or 3 quick parts that don't make the songs sound shittier or noticeably different in her low voice that sounds nothing like Jessica's high, angelic one
I'm sorry but no one can replace Sica's parts, I don't know what is the matter but after all SNSD is not SNSD if we lost Sica, my SNSD is 9 and I miss my Sica so much, even though the one I love is Seohyun and Hyo Yeon
