I do NOT understand why some people said Tiffany wanna show off her Engish. She is american, and she was born in America, English is her native tongue .
+Lin Charlie That's what I faced growing up as a kid. I was looked down on in America because I'm Korean and I was looked down on in Korea because I spoke ENglish.
Tiffany wasn't rude.. watch carefully.. seohyun seems to forgot her line and she raise her tone that sounded like ???/question.. which means she's asking for help.. and tiffany backed her up.. besides, tiffany came from us.. so she knows how to speak english well.. Jessica too..
@@zaychikrandbronya1174 Sunny isn't that good in English. She's just born in USA but she moved to Middle East when she was a kid. Forgot the country lol.
let me make this clear for all of you who are hating on tiffany. SHE'S ONLY HELPING HER MEMBER FOR THE SAKE OF THEIR GROUP'S NAME AND REPUTATION. during seohyun part, if u observe carefully, she repeated the sentence twice which mean she really dont know/forgot the word. then u can see seohyun's body language, she's leaning forward looking towards other member as if she was asking for help. tiffany who is concern abt her member corrects seohyun's sentence . and if tiff doesn't do this, it will be embarassing for the whole group and seohyun herself for having this awkward moment on stage. dont u feel embarassed when you're on stage with thousands of people watching you failed to complete a sentence and kept repeating 'honoured to be, honoured to be, honoured to be' over and over again? yeah imagine that. and when tiffany said "she was better backstage and applause for her hardwork", actually she was saying how hard seohyun has been practicing backstage and how its important that she has to introduce herself perfectly for the sake of pleasing her fans. ir shows that seohyun is very hardworking person and very dedicated to her career. thats it. you're all immature haters are the ones who makes tiffany looks bad here. so please, stop spreading hatred towards other people and just watch these queens pursuing their dreams for a better future
Lol!When Tiffany and Jessica were talking a long string of English words, the other members gave a "what is she saying" look😂 I seriously cracked up when yuri started talking
I don't understand why Tiffany often gets the hate comments when about SNSD speaking English. I mean, come on. Between her and Jessica, she's clearly the more spontaneous and that is maybe the reason why she gets to speak most of the time. She's the one put in charge because she has no lag moments, unlike Jessica in this video, that after a few sentences, she'll look at Tiffany and would somehow or anyhow tell her to do the rest of the talking. And Tiffany's "revelation" of SeoHyun's memorized English lines, I don't see anything wrong with that. SeoHyun even looked at her for some help when she forgot the "here" word. So yeah. No hates, guys. I am not a big SNSD fan but I just think it's unfair for Tiffany to get all the bad stuff when she has the bigger work to do when they're promoting abroad.
the CREATION of a B2UTYful ELF I think because between the two girls who can speak English fluently Tiffany is more talkative while Jessica (who admitted that she hates long speeches and a shy one) doesn't talk much. People does assume that Tiffany is showing off. :/
the CREATION of a B2UTYful ELF exactly! And Seohyun and Fany are obviously very close (hello? TaeTiSeo!) so I doubt Seo was annoyed/upset. As for Jessica, she is always known to be the girl of few words. She prefers Fany talks more
Yuri's intro was clearly the best. Also I don't see what's wrong with Tiff helping her member find the right word. If she just let SeoHyun flounder trying to find it THAT would've been rude. Tiff is just excited that she's not the one having to be corrected all the time. I don't understand how people say they're such big fans of GG yet they bash a member that isn't their bias.
Guys tiffany was just helping seohyun out. She didn't mean to embarrass her or anything, you can see that seo forgot the word and can't say anything. What do you want tiffany to do then just leave seo there not finishing her sentence?
yoona clearly doesn't feel comfortable speaking english. one would get the impression she is shy but when I see her speak her native language in korea she is so confident and talks a lot.
Fany is just excited, she's just american citizen who's longing to perform on Madison Square?! It's not showing off and she's not attention seeker bcuz her beauty always catches attention. You haters are the one who's attention seeker, seeking to have a lot of likes for comment even bashing fany who's very popular and doesn't even care for ur comments! LOL
seohyun is really good when pronouncing english, so good that when she gets the grammar wrong or misses a word it sounds like an american who has suddenly forgotten how to speak! anyway, love u snsd
I love it how when Tiffany was talking you can tell by the look on the rest of SNSD's faces that they're thinking okay Tiffany you can shut up now we all know you can speak English HAHAHA. I love Tiffany though. 2nd fav next to Taeyeon.
Tiffany: Madison Square Garden make some noise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Me: It's just her inner Leo emerging. It's alright, girl. Shake your fluffy pink mane and roar. Tiffany: This was such a highly *anticipated* event for me.... Me: Okay. That's enough...Time to pass the mic to Jessica now.
I personally think Tiffany talked a lot because first of all, her fluent English gives her more variety to other words. And also, she was probably just excited to be back in her home country. She does seem to have some American love after all. Also, when it was Jessica 's turn, she just said, "Tiffany have anything to say?"
It was not rude of Tiffany to help out Seohyun. If I were Seohyun, I would have been furious with Tiffany if she did NOT help me out. Imagine standing there for 2 minutes trying to remember what to say. Tiffany did the right thing by helping her. It is what I would have wanted if I were standing on stage, trying to give a greeting in a language I do not speak, and one of my group did speak the language. I would not be the least bit surprised if that was even requested of her. I know if it were me, I would have said, "If I get stuck, help me out." Think about it for a second. Imagine being in a pop group with Tiffany, and you go to Korea, and you are standing on stage, and you forget a Korean word, would you want her to help you or let you stand there struggling? If you can speak Korean, imagine it being a country where you don't know the language, but she does. Would you want her to help you? But these girls did an amazing job. I can't even imagine how hard it would be to go to Korea and stand in front of thousands of people and try to say something to them in Korean.
***** at 0:58 it is Tiffany that helps one of the girls out when she forgot the word "here." and some people are criticizing her for doing it. It's absurd to criticize her for that. No way that girl wanted to stand there and struggle to remember what to say. You can see they are absolutely terrified when they are waiting for their turn and are so relieved when their turn is done. Can you blame them? Can you imagine going to a stadium in Korea and trying to greet 40,000 or more Koreans when you can't even speak the language? I would be beyond terrified. These girls are truly beautiful girls not only in the physical but in their mind and heart. I love them all. They are my favorites along with Apink. Apink to me is like a junior Girl's Generation. I haven't learned enough about the personalities of the GG girls to know which one I like the best. Whichever one has a personality like Chorong from Apink would likely be my favorite. I do like Tiffany a lot though.
I think the Kpop companies should put an emphasis on hiring English teachers to teach their stars English. It will open up more markets for them when the girls and guys can do more English interviews, and sing more English songs, or English versions of their songs. Have you heard that Scandinavian girl do a cover of Mr. Mr.? WOW she is so good and sounds just like GG, but the best part is that it shows how this could open up their soungs for more airtime on American, Australian, U.K. and Canadian radio stations, if they would do full English versions. Maybe do it the reverse of what they do now. Make most of the song in English, and then add in a line in Korean, but put subtitles so English speakers learn the phrase.
***** Not to me. :) I see huge differences in them. Apink even more so. And man, I would marry Chorong in a second. That girl....mmm, so sweet. I like sweet girls, not girls with nasty attitudes. Hate "tough" girls.
Tiffany was just excited like, she was able to finally perform and she was nervous because if the girls, the show and everything. Stop bashing her. Sometimes I do the same with my bf's who can't speak English and to those who can speak English correcting them,, cutting in, and that doesn't mean that I'm a bitch
what's wrong with everyone here bashing tiffany and saying that she's arrogant? C'mon, she was just trying to help out the other members and yes, obviously she was the best at speaking english so that's why she was the one to promote The Boys album. I don't think any other member can do this job better than she does. And i think they all agreed that Fany speaks english the best so her introduction can be longer.
and in my opinion, i don't think she's trying to make the members look stupid, she's just helping out. Their english is not very good and they even forgot what to say so I think Fany just wants to cheer up the mood and makes them feel less intese.
***** I actually like Sica's english accent though. But members say Sica is the second most quiet member after Seohyun so she doesn't like to talk much. Fany's pretty good at MC so I think she did a good job. ^^~
tbh it's kinda rude to make fun of their accents because all of them (besides jess and fany of course) are trying their very best; i originally just came here to make sure i was pronouncing seohyun's name right but wow
Sooyoung and Seohyun are so good with languages, even if Seo forgot the "here", she still did great and she's also really good with Japanese. Lmao, Yuri and Taeyeon were a bit nervous saying everything in one breath, still cute tho and Tiffany showing off lol I MISS JESSICA 😭
I think people are mistaking their attitudes here: they were probably very nervous since it was their first time at Madison Square Garden. It's not that Yoona didn't care, it's probably just that she wanted to keep it simple since her english is a little limited AND they're probably all tired from preparing for this day. Tiffany didn't strike me as rude or arrogant; I think she's just happy to finally be able to speak English again and having people understand her fully. I know for a fact that Tiffany is a little more confident in her English than Jessica, only because (I believe) Jessica would speak both korean and english at home (but mostly korean) whereas Tiffany would speak mostly English. Remember near their debut, Tiffny had troubles with pronunciation ? Even Jessica did too, but I found that Tiffany had a little bit more troubles. But that's besides the point. I hope you understand what I mean. They're probably all really tired too. :) This was beyond adorable though! SUNNY BUNNY WAS TOO CUTE FOR WORDS! I applaud Yoona for her efforts too :) she's such a cutie~ And Yuri oh my god, that's how I speak english after I watch en entire marathon of korean dramas. And Hyo... oh, Hyo xD DONT WORRY WE'LL REMEMBER YOUR NAME FOR YOU~ Taeyeon was so cute too omfg !
If you really following Girls' Generation, you can understand why Tiffany is speaking so much since she's like the most spontaneous and english speaker representative. I do agree that Jessica is better but I don't think Jessica can talk that much and have lots of idea about what to talk. Not just for english interview, Tiffany's also talks a lot for Korean and Japanese interviews also, while Jessica is always one of the quite one. And don't forget, every time Girls' Generation needs to appear in a variety show that they need to be careful with what they're talking about, Tiffany is always one of the weapon.
+jayt 48 Tiffany's their speaker both in Korean and English. Jessica's not talkative and said so herself tht she doesn't like talking. Tiffany's also teased around in the group for always speaking so loudly even tho she doesn't need to. Either Korean or English, Jessica doesn't talk tht much and if she had a choice she doesn't... Our princess is a little shy...
People keep on saying that English is the easiest language. . . Actually English is one of the harder languages because there are different pronunciations for the same letter and spelling. Vane, vein, vain, and much more. Also when you say, 'comb' it's a different pronunciation than 'tomb' but it's the same spelling. The only thing different is the 'c' and 't'. We also have different grammar than most languages. In a sentence we would say, "Hello, I'm Tiffany from Girls' Generation!" But in Korean it is would sound something like, "Hello, I'm Girls' Generation from Tiffany!" I know it sounds really weird, but our language probably sounds weird to other people. Having the easiest language to learn also varies on your 'mother tongue' language. In my opinion, Spanish is the easiest language for English speaking people to learn since it is very similar. Chinese speaking people could learn Korean or Japanese fairly easily. But it would be harder -not for everyone- for an English speaking person to learn Chinese, since they have different sounds. Such as the 'r' sound doesn't even exist in their language. Also 'xi' makes the sh sound. Sorry to get all technical or whatever but it really makes me mad when someone says that English is the easiest language. Well duh it's the easiest cause you already know it -.-
Makalya E. English is my first language. I have no illusions about why I still hate it as a language. It's a poorly built language (though if you learn it's origins you quickly learn why). Examples of why English is a terrible language: "I threw my ball through the hole." Threw and through: different spelling, different definitions, they sound the same I wound the bandage around the wound. I am not close enough to the door to close it. Both of these sentences use the same word in appearance (wound and close), but they sound different, have different definitions but are spelled the same. And my personal favorite: Past tenses are generally done by adding -ed to a verb (I.e. I gasped, You dodged etc.) But common words: Eat > Ate Run > Ran Sit > Sat rarely follow that rule As someone once said 'In English 40% of the words don't follow 70% of the rules' or something to that effect.
아담 Adam I can't tell if you're serious or not. But I didn't insult anything. I did however learn that there are 44 words that follow the 'i before e except after c' rule and 923 that don't.
Now people are hating on Fany for being able to speak English and helping other members? Oh please the girl can't even breathe without hate anymore. Let her live ffs. Next.
tiffany was just trying to help seohyun! by the way she said, "she practiced this like a hundred times backstage" it sounded like she really wanted to let the audience know that seohyun tried her best. since its her first language, isnt it natural for her to take the lead when speaking?
Can understand Yoona not wanting to be clowned by english speakers, but respect the enthusiasm of the members who couldnt get it quite right but tried anyway. Afterall, how many westerners can put together a sentence in an asian language without sounding incredibly awkward.
I didn't know that sooyoung is good at English and I am so proud to Tiffany because she is so good at English language and because she helped her other group members speak in English we'll I see that their all good at English language just a little bit but except Tiffany and Jessica because their both an American
"omg tiffany is so rude!1!1!1!" seohyun literally is looking towards tiffany for help when she cant remember the word and tiffany helped her out. what else was she supposed to do??? i dont understand yall
“ Tiffany english is awkward ” “ Tiffany english annoyed me ” Jessica speaks english better and more natural than Tiffany ” WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU GUYS !?? She speak naturally okay. She is not trying to be the main member or else. She just being herself. Her voice and her reaction is naturally like that. I think she is cute. Why did you guys hates her ? Come on !! - Sorry for my bad english.
Im pretty sure, Tiffany was just tryna point out how much Effort sooyoung did to learn what she said. Coz Sooyoung cant really speak english. So stop being so negative. And get outta here.
Lol. But dont be so negative like that next time. Sorry If I sounded mean haha, Just had to make u understand that coz we all Snsd fans :) ok bye. ily😊♥️
it wasn't that rude what Tiffany said ,but maybe she could have left out the part 'I promise it was better back stage' and just leave it at 'give her a applause for her hard work'. plus seohyun didn't look to embarrassed , she just kinda laughed it off :)
Tiffany still adopting and she's more comfortable with english than korean. She's confident with it. So some of us think she's kind of irritating when using english while speaking to other members. But when she's speaking with Jessica, their conversation looks normal cause they're both fluent and they really understand each other. And in some issues that Tiffany is shadowing Jessica when it comes on speech, of course we all know specially Sone and Gorjess that Jessica hate long speeches (she admit it) and she's a shy person, that's why when she's still in SNSD Tiffany take charge of it and you will rarely see her talking in awardings. But now she can only depend on herself so we can see that she's comfortably answering and talking in front of many people (off screen or on screen) either it's english or korean.
