ammonia is a gas at normal temeratures (liquid only at way below 0 C and under pressure), and ammonia solutions are the gas dissolved in water, which is why if you leave an ammonia solution open it will stop smelling of ammonia due to it leaving the solution. that is maybe nitrate crystallized from water from leaky pipes, or some other chemical but definitely not ammonia. anyway, nice video as always!
Very good video and what an adventure!... I visited (without permission too) Pedro de Valdivia in 2006, a plenty operational plant. I saw the town, semi abandoned, but the industrial zone was in normal operation. The mineral was transported mainly by train, using old electric and diesel locomotives. I did take pictures before we were discovered for the guards and we were "invited" to get out of the town. Luckily the didn't ask us to erase our digital pictures and films. Now I keep that registers as a treasure. Many thanks for the videos.
@@ExploringtheUnbeatenPath i got also a car with keyless access, sometimes t doesn't work due to strong magnetic fields or something, but there is a backup - you bring the key as close as possible to engine start/stop button , it has a short range radio remote transmitter which makes starting engine possible, so you can drive away. But i think that both of you should have a key, probably the rental company failure, they should give ypu 2 when you go to the desert. and last, in my car when i move oustide with the key with engine left running, there is immediately an alarm sound and yellow lamp informing you that key is not present. you can start engine only with key inside the car, left on the roof doesn't work.
Back in the mid 90's , my dad put our brand new camcorder on the car and drove away. The view finder broke off and a few things but it still kinda worked
i cant help but think how all this equipment materials machinery was shipped from all over the world and transported to such an inhospitable place and operated put together
Keyless cars are dumb, seen this happen before. Someone borrowed the car to go to the store and the owner got out, and they couldn't start the car again at the store because the owner had the key.
That musrt have been pretty thrilling, exploring that power station with activities. Good location though in that factory, much to see. Too bad you lost the keys of your car, but as you said, luckily you stopped at a gas station! Bedankt voor weer een mooie video en tot de volgende Bob!
They will warn, but the keys were on top of the car for who knows how long so the car may have thought the keys were there. What would've be interesting would be to drive the tow truck down the same road and have someone in the car trying to start it. Most tow companies won't allow someone in the car they are towing though.
Why did they design a car that runs without a key? Nobody asked for that. The companies decide what we should like , condition our feeble minds, and then sit back and watch us demand what we never needed before.
Keyless cars piss me off. Just like keyless hotel rooms. Get to the room and it doesn’t work so you make the walk of shame back to reception and they ask “did you try it more than once?” “No, I’m a one and go bloke, that’s how I roll, of course I tried it more than once, I tried it a million times.” Then they ask “do you have a mobile phone trying to pin it on me “Yes, I have a phone, it’s the 21st century, everyone has a phone, your card can’t handle it, maybe that’s the problem?”. Some great improvement over the key that worked a mere 100% of the time. Same in a car. Keyless battery goes flat, you pull out the key and it opens. Is it a scam to sell batteries? On a side note my phone blocks my keyless car signal and erases by hotel room card yet I keep them in my front pocket next to my nuts probably frying them. I think we’ll be seeing a program on my abandoned gonads soon!
Region de Antofagasta es el paraiso de pueblos abandonados. Dos veces he visitado Pedro de Valdivia y es todo una maravilla. Por favir visita, Caracoles, Pampa union y los cementeros abandonados
i watch so much urbex channels on yt. but your are the king, as first for the places. but most for the quality and perfection of still image. photo skills at their best. thank you bob. go head

Usually I do…. (And know if you have seen more episodes) I just hid and forgot because it was pretty unexpected. And the sounds.. I do make pictures too. I never film constantly. In some upcoming episodes I was lucky and filmed a loooot of security and some alarms that went off😂
11:40 I can only imagine the tremendous volume in this hall. Most of the workers in this hall must have been deaf or have a Teribble Tinnitus after a short while
Nice video. When old ships are decommissioned. They are sailed to India where they are beached and broken up. The iron is salvaged and recycled. In many Eastern Europe and former Soviet countries and in China. Huge facilities like this are just abandoned. It is interesting that the Owners ONLY Care enough to have a few security guards and that's it. (they all have them).
If it weren't for bad luck, you'd have no luck at all.. Lol.. At lest the rental car place put you up in a hotel for the night.. Another great explore Bob.. 😁👍
Really fascinating operation in the middle of nowhere. I can only imagine how loud and dirty was the working conditions back when that plant was operating with all its people. What is a bit sad is that it will likely remain it its state for a very long time crumbling slowly leaving the environment with a scar. Glad you made it to a hotel and you had some help. It could have been worse at another location.
LOL you guys are AWESOME!! The painted on fake sheving at the hortel was beyond hilarious, although you may not have thought so. I am an old man, in the N. end of Idaho state, and I can not do ANY of this stuff.
Hyundai's are everywhere! The #1 stolen car in the US, as resourceful as you are Bob I thought you might have some skills to coerce it to get it started.
Long story since we had different cars from different locations. And the car rental was closed in the weekend too. Unlucky event! In the end we managed to get another car.
