Ok but the funniest part about this whole scene is that Snufkin typically isn’t edgy or moody as he was being here. He’s usually pretty happy go lucky, so seeing him so out of character shows that he was genuinely pissed off and it was hilarious.
I would act exactly like snufkin if I had someone stalk me, spray me with water, ate my food, tried going into my personal belongings, and just assume that I'll play for them then ask to be named while they continued to be over baring, all after asking them to go away
1:10 Look at this. I mean just look at it. If the music didn’t tip you off, this is where the tension is rising to its highest point. Snufkin’s body language goes full defensive here. Holding his arms in a “back off” position. Literally walking backward to maintain space between himself and Teety-woo, who is *clearly not picking up on these blatant signals.* Imo, Teety-woo deserves what he gets, even more tbh.
i feel like something bad is going to happen to him in the second season of moominvalley. after the end of what happened of the invisible child episode, im sure something is going to happen to him where he’s going to completely break down or something...
I honestly think the same, he's alot more emotional in his personality in this adaption. And plus he already broke down in one of the original novels when (spoiler alert) the ocean dried up and he got upset over it
Not gonna lie, I'd like to see that. Feels like it brings a little more depth to his character. Maybe it will be similar to what happened in "comet in moominland" or its on a more personal level
I like how adaptations for most characters tend to distort them or flanderize their personalities, but Snufkin remains almost exactly the same throughout the years because of how easy and understandable his personality is. 🤣
Wow I’d never thought I’d relate to a cartoon character so accurately. I mean I’m not like this all of the time, but if I’m in a pissy mood, which isn’t uncommon, man oh man am I a emo little edgelord. I have mastered the stink-eye already. I promise I’m not one of those “qUIrKy LoL” girls, I hate how moody I get sometimes but omg Snufkin literally does everything I do when I’m in a bad mood, it’s actually kind of scary...
oi don't diddle my boi like this. Yeah he's introverted and likes to travel alone, but he's still a totally fun and cool guy at times, when he's with his friends and stuff.
(Let me preface with I agree, having said that) How would you feel if a stalker that new everything about your personal life approached you, are your food, and splashed water in your face? Like, realistically
I much preferred the original version of this scene. This one makes Snufkin look angsty and mean. The original conveyed his need for solitude and the whole message of not getting too obsessed with other people.
The original? You mean this? "The creep edged closer, laid one paw on Snufkin’s knapsack and solemnly whispered: ‘Is this where you keep the mouth organ? Do you have it here?’ ‘Yes,’ Snufkin said, rather crossly. His tune was lost, loneliness was gone, all was different. He clenched his teeth around the pipe-stem and stared in among the birches without really seeing them." "‘I’m coming when it suits me,’ Snufkin cried violently. ‘Perhaps I shan’t come at all. Perhaps I will go somewhere else.’" "‘Would you perhaps… You who have travelled so much…?’ ‘No,’ Snufkin said. And he thought angrily: Why can’t they ever let my wanderings alone?!" So, he is pretty much angry and kind of mean here, lol
@@therani9600 If we wanna talk original books, the original Finnish text doesn't exactly convey phrases like "Cried violently". More like "Huffed intensely". And when he thinks, it's not "angrily", it's "Bitterly". And it's then further explained that he's not as upset about being bothered about his wanderings as he is about the fact that if he's forced to talk about his travels, he'll spoil his memories of them because it'll force him to only remember himself telling the stories, rather than the travels themselves. Sure, he's a little mean in the original. He's being bothered by someone he doesn't know about something he doesn't want to talk or think about, so he gets a little cross. But it's an entirely different mood from this clip where he's shouting, scowling, groaning and stomping around. That's why I think the original Finnish 'Tales From the Moominvalley' executes this scene much better. Snufkin is more subdued but obviously annoyed, and he seems more like a font of wisdom than an angry child.
