I happened to catch this video as I'm looking for ideas to improve my camping experience in my new fiberglass topper. We don't camp full time but I guess if it did leak between the truck and the topper side I would just temporarily tape the gap on top as I'm not able to remove the shell and chalk the area or seal the gaps. Same with the sides too. Just thinking.

That's not a bad idea, PHIL. I have to say so far after fixing the roof, windows, and front seal issue I haven't had any water problems.. If you do need to lift up the shell, using a jack and a few pieces of wood made it quite easy ..I was able to do this by myself

YOU are welcome, DANIEL. I know right? I had people telling me they just leak you can't fix it.. Well it was kind of a chore and I am really surprised a snugtop had so many issues.. they are supposed to be one of the better ones I thought.. It's all good now though :) Take care BRO :)

@@ETPCYT so they ended up taking the top back because when I got there for them to fix my blinker the back hatch came off the hinge in front of the tech. So their sending it back for repairs. The lead shop guy was not happy with how the top was installed at all.

Just bought a new leer 180. Three days old. Leaking in four corners of the bed. Not impressed. Rather disappointed. Windows are very difficult to close fully. Sloppy. Broken pet screen. Pathetic

Yeah that should not happen.. these tops should be care free from the get go.. I had to do a bunch of stuff to get mine waterproof.. my links got messed up I will relink the other videos

So I just installed my windoors and poured water over it to test it and it comes in thru the screen.(window closed) Did you have this issue?

Sort of yes.. the water would run into the inner sill of the window and that would fill up and run inside the bed.. I had to drill a few holes in the sill so the water would drain properly .. that fixed it

I just had my ARE installed yesterday and it leaks like crazy and keyless needs to be fixed and now my 2020 tundra rear left blinker isn't working so angry with them. They said they'll make it right we'll see. 4k miles on the truck shouldn't have a problem. But thanks again for the info.

Basically, SnugTop blows. Brand new shell from them ($3400) and it's leaking front and rear. Poor build quality. Buyer beware.

Yeah for 3400 YOU would think it should be bullet proof.. I had to seal the top and alter the windows a bit.. now no leaks.. but like you said, we shouldn't have to do that
