Check out this beautiful '55 Chevy built by Dennis Taylor and his 23 year old daughter Alex to compete in the 2021 Hot Rod Drag Week. Powered by a 509ci Big Block Chevy with Precision 88mm Turbos it runs as good as it looks. Alex captured 3rd place in the Unlimited class averaging 7.71 seconds. If that grueling 5 day, 1200 mile event wasn't enough the two immediately went on to compete in the Rocky Mountain Race Week in which Alex ran her fastest time ever of 7.407@190.7 mph and took home the win in the 2.0 unlimited class and top overall ! Alex's goal from the start was to get the car in the 6's, which by the look of things won't be long! I was a huge fan of Hotrod Garage with Tony and Lucky and got rid of cable and unfortunately Motortrend channel too. I'd heard there was a shake up there and was curious to see who replaced Tony. Looks like Lucky has hitched himself to another great star! I binge watched this entire season till now and am looking forward to the rest! I didn't know a thing about you or your Dad but am a big fan now! So impressed! What a driver and what a fabricator! So glad I re-upped my subscription.

The cool part is that a lot of the setup and tuning are actually done by Alex. That's why it's always her sitting with the labtop between races. She's the EFI "guru" in dads shop.

what's left of the '55 ... the roof, front glass area, around door frame, to rear panels ... all gutted, custom built tube chassis by Dennis Taylor, front, doors and trunk custom fiberglass by Dennis & Wife Taylor, engine built by Dennis, custom wiring by Alex, custom fuel lines, tank, suspension, drive train, brakes, wheels, Holly ECU, duel injectors [pump & methanol], separate fuel tanks, custom cooling system [engine, oil, transmission] ... @MaximusNoobius It's always an asset to be young and pretty, the nature are designed that way. But some males seems to have problems looking past the "pretty young female" thing. They may even be "scared" when they realize a lady like Alex actually also are intelligent (she have an university education) and know her tech and tools. Alex is a business mind just like her dad and they share the big love for hot rodding and racing.
