I got the Lazertouch 1.3’s (mad discount $100 total!) & those were the first Puma boots I ever purchased & I found them so comfortable right out of the box. My foot is kinda in between an 8 & 8.5 so I went with an 8 & they fit exactly how I liked. I genuinely love these boots & they’re a close second after my Pred Edge +‘s. Great review as always man. I really hope you can let that little gap slide & give us a one month review!
That's fantastic mate! 🔥 I'm so glad they fit you well. Unfortunately the gap is simply too big for me to safely consider wearing them... I'll see if I can get someone on who has worn them for a month or more!
Anecdote regarding the frustrating toe-box length issue... I have a friend with wide feet that insisted on these boots, but couldn't get them in half a size down from his normal size to resolve the extra length, instead he had to go a _full_ size down, because that was all that was in stock. He was worried the fit just wouldn't be viable, but it turned out fine! What he did was break them in laceless -- there was initial discomfort in the toebox being too tight, but that synthetic upper in the toe-box did end up stretching to his wide forefoot. He just had to give it time. Meanwhile his wide midfoot was fine all along because that elasticated band without laces accommodated his aggressive down-sizing. He puts the laces in now that they're broken in. He also told me this _does not_ work with the Future Z 2.4 -- apparently the takedown's forefoot upper material doesn't stretch enough with break-in.
I usually wear a 10.5 and I went down half a size. I could’ve gone to a 9.5 but they didn’t have them in store. They took about 4-5 hard training sessions to break them in, they were very tight and I had rubbing on my heel. Now I love them after fully broken In
Yours were tight in the middle of the foot? Is that what went away? I’m currently dealing with 9.5 perfect size toe box wise but middle of the foot hug is tight even without tighting laces. Size 10 fits fine in the mid foot but I have a lot of room between toe and end of boot. 9.5 after a 20 min sessions makes mid foot have pain. Hopefully this stretches out !? 😭😭
Just for anyone interested in this boot. I have wide feet, especially in the toe area, I found the 1.3's toebox to be way too tight even though it was fine in the midfoot. However, I tried on a pair of the Lazertouch variant and found them to be way wider in the toe area, and were super comfortable for me. So that might be a good option for anyone that finds this particular boot too tight.
Puma has the weirdest sizing system that I know, when I buy Puma, I usually go 1 size down but somehow there are still lot of room in the toe box area, but the width is enough. I wonder that they make cleats revolving around the weird foot shape of the football superstars like Neymar
I ordered a size 9 and found that I had just under a thumb width which was too long, I then went down half a size and had just under a pointing finger width gap from the to box area but found that the mid foot was a bit tighter on the 8.5 l, I would recommend going half a size down.
I got these at an extra half a size smaller for the toebox... and they are perfect ! Best shoes I ever had (used to play semi-pro/pro, but now only for fun. Had many top end boots, usually the speed boots tho) I had 1.3 but got a refund as they were for some reason falling apart on the inside (just one of them) and got these, but went that half size lower (used to play in Eu44 (nike) and got these in EU42.5, so if You can, try them out maybe they will fit great for You too !
I usually wear either a size 10.5 or 11US depending on brand/model. These are definitely on the long side, so I ended up with a size 10US to get my toes really close to the top. For that reason breaking in the cleats was slower and more painful than normal, but they did stretch quite a bit so in the end I think it was worth it. These are now my favorite cleats to wear. I have the MG stud pattern, which is perfect for artificial turf - they offer excellent grip, but not so much that it completely locks my foot if I need to pivot for whatever reason. After getting badly hurt from wearing FG cleats on turf, I’m never going back to anything that isn’t like the MG
I got the same shoes. Usually size 11.5 but got them size 10 and my feet hurt after like 15 minutes of playing in them. Only used them twice. Hope it gets better. I’m used to Nike’s too so they not only feel small/painful but also weird lol.
@@NorthernSpartan that's a full 1.5 sizes 😲! seems pretty wild, but only goes to show how the sizing in these boots is odd! Good luck with them! 👍 definitely took me longer than a couple of times to break them in. For the first few days I just wore them for 15-20 min at a time and juggled a ball / did some passing and shooting until it got too uncomfortable and switched to something else. Eventually they broke in!
Since I got my 1.3s I haven't worn laces ... Maybe it's the shape of my feet but it's a perfect laceless boot... I'm waiting for my speedflow and predator edge now...
Hi, im currently struggling to find a perfect football boot for my foot shape. The pair im currently using is the predator accuracy.1 since that is most “pain free” boot that I’ve tried. The pain is at my midfoot since it’s very wide. However I decided to return the predators since the durability is horrible and the rubber pieces came off. I came to a conclusion and found out that the problem is that most boot’s sole plate is very narrow which the side of my midfoot hangs off the sole plate. I’m still not sure which boots have a bigger base/wider bottom. Then I found this pair the 1.4 where the sole plate different compared to other boots where the middle is like squished together so therefore do you think that the material will stretch since on the side of the sole plate it’s just synthetic material instead of the hard sole plate material. Would this be a great option for me you think or are there other boots with wider soleplates? Thankyou (sorry if this sounds confusing I tried my best explaining) 🙏🏻🙏🏻
i usually wear a size 8.5 men, should i get that size or a size up, i don’t have wide feet but i got a size 8.5 in pumas ultras and they fit a little tight so i’m not to sure, but they weren’t broken in yet, so what would you recommend?
@NoahCavanaugh My first time playing with the shoes today. Bad impression on Puma since I'm used to Nike. Fits more like a half size bigger and still managed to leave a blister at the back of my foot. Cheap shoes
It’s really strange that Puma don’thave sizing consistency across their silos let alone with other brands. I wonder if it affects sales… I went a 1/2 size down on the 1.2s and after a longer than usual break in period they fit perfect. For reference I have average width feet.
Hey mate! Those boots hurt my feet like crazy after the first wear, so I won't be doing any update reviews on them. The new line of predators (Predator Accuracy) should be releasing soon though, and I'll be doing a full review on those! 🔥
Have you reviewed the future Z 1.2? Because the only ones puma have in stock in my size are the 1.2s and I was just wondering if they were even a decent boot. So just trying to get your opinion on them thanks.
I recently refunded an ultra ultimat because it hurt my heel so bad, it was true to size. Is the heel padding better on this boot?, it’s on sale now maybe I can consider it.
Dude i had a similar issue today I went to a Puma store and I am usually a 11.5 but today I tried an 11,11.5 and a 12…they all differed a little in width but length was almost the same. It was frustrating because it had a thumbs width of empty toe box space and for me that’s a huge no no.
@@NoahCavanaugh I actually just ordered the ultras 1.4 eclipse pack for a really good price, so we will see if the sizing issue applies to them as well.
So I'm curious about the whole 1/4 sz too long thing. Why is that so bothering or what is the problem, I guess I just don't get why it would be an issue. Genuine question, not trolling.
Extra space feels awkward when you're playing aggressively and changing directions a lot. There are also times when shooting or passing when it just feels clunky. I want my boots to go right up to the end of my toes so I feel like I'm just wearing a second skin/sock. Feels like a clown shoe
Hi bro, ı am planning to order puma future match mg. Now ı am wearing puma ultra 3.4 mg size 9. But there is a bit more room in toebox. You think Should ı go half size down for puma future?
It probably depends on your foot shape! I'd say if you have really wide feet, I'd go for something like the Future Ultimate. If you're super keen on these though and you have average/thinner feet, you could probably get away with 1/2 size down! I always recommend trying them on to see what you prefer first though 👍🏼
hi, i have a puma ultra 2.4 40.5 euro size. They are perfect for me, should I go down in size when switching to puma future z1.4. I'm sorry, I wrote through google translator
Great Video! Can you do a comparison video with the 1.2 and 1.4? As you seemed to really like the 1.2 but this doesn’t translate with the 1.4. Can you compare the differences between the two? This will really help me make the decision of which ones to buy.
Hi mate, both of those aren’t available anymore as the Ultimate has taken over - and the Ultimate is better in a lot of ways in comparison to the other two. That’s what I would go for 🔥
@@NoahCavanaugh The Puma Future Z 1.2 is still available, I am looking at a pair in half size down and they fit like a glove. I’m just not sure if its worse or better to go for the 1.4 as far as fit and commfort is concerned. When you reviewed the blue 1.2s I was sold and ordered them recently. But I checked out this review on the 1.4 and it seems that they are not as good? I just wanted to know in what aspects they are better or worse.
I currently have only worn Nike Magista Orden Pros for around 7yrs now - My feet around 25cm long, but wide and square toes! Thinking about trying these hmm - any recommendations?
That's unreal mate! Those lasted a long time! Definitely a good option, although I'd probably go for the new Puma Future Ultimate, more comfortable in my opinion
i wish i listened to you guys about boots being preference lol i ended up buying 260 usd mercurials and the lacing system didnt work for me and the toe box area had so much space vertically it got extremely annoying. I ended up going on a trip to dicks and tried out an 87 dollar pair of the 2.4s which i heard from sr4u was basically the same as the 1.4s and it fit like a glove for me and everything about it was perfect. I could have saved 200 dollars but my dumbass just bought because of the brand labels lol
@@NoahCavanaughSorry, mate. 😅 I’m a kiwi and can usually detect an Aussie accent, but I thought you were an American or possibly a Canadian who had just played some soccer in Australia.
I refunded 1.4…… the material after rains so bad….. the box toe too bad….. ,the heel box,….everything bad….. I bought because of the Color 😅puma has to improve a lot of features. The 1.4 &1.3 generation are even worse than 1.2
@@NoahCavanaugh what should i do- will it make a large difference in playing- the part connecting to the bottom and toe comes off after a few practices
Do u feel comfy while wearing true to size? I have the predcopax shoes true to size and i feel like it will squish my fingers and feet if i wore it..i’m similar to you with wide feet
@@NoahCavanaugh 1 more question tho, does the Puma Ultra Ultimate run true to size or is it also a quarter size too long as the Futures? Btw amazing reviews, so helpful !
