As you say Rahm was already good 😜Thanks Sophie. This one is not for me, or any other new driver this year. I will stick with my driver that works perfectly for me.
Sophie, I always look forward to your reviews. They are always informative and relevant. After zeroing in on a shaft, I tested PING, TSR, Steath2 and Paradym . Like you I loved the PING 430 but got little improvement compared to my gamer TSi2. The Paradym got me ( no bull) 20 yards more carry and held the fairway. For an average Joe with a swing speed of 92mph that was huge. In spite of what strikes me as a little cheezy on the looks, the performance and the way it set up to the ball was really nice. I'll see if I don't disappoint under game pressure but I will smile dipping my bread in water while i save what I just spent. Keep up the great work!
Great review Sophie. For me, I just traded my SIM2 for a TSI3 and I am happy. I was tired of all the carbon hype and wanted a solid-sounding driver. Good luck to those who are willing to pay $599 for a driver. My TSI3 was $244 with a $100 trade-in of SIM2. I don't understand why the USGA/R&A don't end this technology bonanza. Where do manufacturers go from here, a $1000 driver? It's absolutely insane.
I like the name and the looks. Got fitted for the standard Paradym, after trying the Titleist, Ping G-430, etc, had best results with the Paradym, but the others were close behind. No problems pronouncing the name because I speak American English.I realize that English English it is harder to pronounce, I guess. You are right about the headcover. Price here is $599, price for Ping 430 is $630. Nice review. Thanks for covering each thoroughly and easy to understand, also you are willing to have an open mind about performance over looks.
Sophie, might be interesting to switch the weights in the diamond to have the 14 in the back to see if it increases, stability, launch and brings the spin up a touch. Might be a win-win.
Great review Sophie. Thank you. For me the key is the obscene price. We know it doesnt cost that much to put to market. If Cobra or Wilson Staff can produce equally good drivers for far less money then I would encourage people to boycot these overpriced clubs. I dont want to line the pockets of John Rahm or Callaway share holders any more than I have to.
HIYA Sophie, hope you well, just got fitted for new driver, The Paradym x with tense av blue shaft , shone through, distance consistent , ball speed , even compared to new smoke, just have to wait 3 weeks for it to arrive, thanks for another brilliant video, have great weekend
It is interesting that you talk about cost and it being very expensive. Over here in Canada the Ping G430 is the most expensive, then Taylormade and then Callaway./Titleist. Not saying it’s a bargain but the competition is certainly a few dollars more.
Great review as usual. I hit them and they were ok but not my cup of tea. Went with Ping g430 after seeing your review on that driver. Played 3 rounds with it and it is a fairway finder which fits me.
I continue to enjoy your content, whatever it is. Although you are a pro, your swing speeds and distances are closer to what most golfers can accomplish. BTW, I have been working on rotation, and I am encouraged by watching your tempo as you rotate thru impact. Thanks as always.
I had a fitting on Tuesday I tried the Paradym,Stealth 2, I was fitted into the Ping G430SFT driver. I didn't get on with the Paradym I didn't like the feel, I was 5 to 10 yards shorter and dispersion was not as good.I'm 70 years old I had about 83 mph club head speed. I think it probably fits a faster swing speed.
I just went to a fitting today. I didn't want to try the Paradym because of the cost. The fitter suggested I try it. It was 10-12 yards further than the Ping, Cobra and TSR.
Good review Sophie. I like the driver, forgiveness and distance really appeals. Don't mind the name. I do mind the costs, no way am I paying £600 for driver.
Great review, sophie. As a tall female golfer, who uses men’s clubs, and has a similar swing speed (if not always ball speed!) I really appreciate your reviews. The name is ok, if a bit ostentatious, and I think it looks beautiful - not as flashy as the Stealth, but more stylish than plain black . . . but the price? That’s way more than I could justify for one club, even if I was sure I could afford it, unless I could guarantee it serving me for ten years. Even then, I’m not sure it’s worth it for a relatively small gain - it’s only a hobby, after all, even if I am completely obsessed with it!😂
Probably the best I've seen you hit driver, and in cold conditions. I had the ping g425 and got rid of it after a few weeks - just something off about Ping for me. I think Jon Rahm could play any brand w/the same results as could most tour pros, men or woman.
Good review,Paradym it’s just a name who care what it means. What does epic or rogue mean.I think the price of all drivers are crazy and they are pricing the average golfer out of buying new. Honestly no driver should cost over £400 and that’s still a lot of money.
I bought the triple diamond used with the Mitsubishi shaft. I have went from a regular shaft to a stiff shaft and I did try it outdoors and seem \ed to be very consistent as well as indoors tight dispersement I had the Rouge ST Max LS driver before and I was hitting it too high so this brought my launch down and spin rate down. I live in Minnesota so I’ll have to wait to really try it out there this spring.
Entertaining review. Don't mind the name, never worried me either way. I think it looks great, the biggest downside is that at that price there will be very few around in a year or two to snap up on the used/demo market.
Well I think it looks good I like the blue and gold, but the price is stupid. I bought a PXG 0211 for £209 last year then they halved the price 😮, for me £300 is around the limit I think for one club. When getting fitted we hear so much about shafts, how about taking a 3-4year old driver head and fitting a new shaft and see what’s difference that makes. I think the manufacturers are taking golfers for mugs with the pricing.
Thanks for the review. I'll keep my Ping G425 thank you. £599 is an obscene amount to pay especially in times of crisis. I wonder if Callaway are trying to fill PXG's boots? 🤔
Our review of the Mizuno 230 STZ and STX drivers is coming sooner than you think 👀 Make sure you turn our notifications on and subscribe to our channel so you never miss a video 👍
Excellent video I shall keep my rogue st for now though I have the velecore tr coming.. I see the price for the paradym is £525 at the moment still a lot of pennies xx
I can't afford the new drivers from the Big 3. I just bought a Mizuno STZ 220 driver for only $300 and a Cobra LTDX 3 wood for $219. And I'm very happy with both of them.
Paul, QUESTION , why is it we go on about the top or underside of the driver? Well when you think about it , it's in a sheath , on the tee we only see the head top . ARE WE NIEVE.??
Soph, did you find it a bit heavy to swing? Ball speed better than club head speed as compared to other drivers tested? BTW, we all like your face. Cheers!
There are just too many drivers that are great clubs and Callaway is on par performance, but it's obscenely expensive. I have last years Cobra and I won't be changing and I certainly wouldn't spend over AUD$1060.00 for one club. You watch... brands like Wilson, Srixon, Cleveland, Yonex now have a huge opportunity. Callaway is in lala land...and I certainly don't care two hoots how the tour receives it. All I care about as an amateur golfer is... 1) Will it improve my game; If it does by how much. 2) If it does is it financially worth it to spend that money on a club or will I get more value by improving technique. More than likely I will get greater gains in coaching. There is virtually zero difference in performance with the big brands and even less difference between last year's and this year's models.
I enjoy your reviews. Now that you have reviewed an expensive driver it is time to review the new Wilson Dyna Power drivers that deliver performance at a much more reasonable price.
@@GolfBert I meant its origins... its DEFINITELY a toque... I will never forget Chris Bosh hawking Raptors promo toques one winter... it looked like he was in physical pain...
I think you missed the boat for not including the X version. If I'm good enough to swing a triple diamond, I'm probably not watching reviews or even needing a review. The X is actually a great club and not really a draw biased club.
If you’re savvy and patient, you’ll be able to buy these certified used directly from Callaway at a healthy discount. Pay the money to get fit now and then order certified used near the end of this year before the next “best driver” is announced in 2024. 😉
I don’t care about the price. I would buy one if it was better than the Rogue. But it isn’t really. I just can’t see any significant gain. And it’s shiny! Hate that.
I have a comments for you and the makers of PARA/DYM PROS GET IT FREE , PROS SWING FASTER THAN AMATURES, SO THIS MAY HELP IT MAY NOT BUT ONE THING IS THE PRICE ITS KILLING OFF PEOPLE WHO WOULD WANT TO PLAY AT A REASONABLE LEVEL, I WOULD LOVE THE ROGUE BUT AT THAT PRICE NOT A CHANCE AND NOW THIS THE SONG AND DANCE CLUB BUT !!!! WE STILL HAVE TO SWING IT. PAUL
Sophie: You've steadily become my "go to" / trusted person for golf gear reviews (as was Martin Hopley your Golfalot predecessor?). Thanks for your in-depth reviews. Any chance you'll give us an updated WITB? i.e. "what's in Sophie's Bag 2023" #SecretGiveaway2023 ...p/s: what shaft did you test with this driver? e.g. "50-ish gram shaft? R-flex?" Do you typically use 9.5* driver lofts, or 10.5*?
Dont like the name at all. Nice colours, but as you say it's pricey. Tried the three wood, and it's not as good in performance as my Stealth three wood. I'm probably a bit biased in that I'm a Ping and Taylormade guy though.
Drivers have priced themselves out of sales. I'll only buy a lightly used one from someone dumb enough to buy it new. Continuing on with my G425, that I only have because I found a used one with an RDX shaft at a great price and someone bought my used 400 at close to the same cost. I only have one club in my bag I bought new and it is a wedge.
FOMO... there are a lot of people that can afford it and also there are tradeup programs. Get rid of the stuff in your garage and put it towards a new Paradym!
answer , I do not it it with headcover . I think it's becoming a game for the rich . it's like football 120 million for a player for me he should do everything like this driver , for that money I expect to drive use as a mid iron get out of bunkers and putt . I WOULD LOVE THE ROGUE OR COBRA LAST YEARS DUE TO LOOKS FEEL ETC . BUT I AM A PENSIONER AND LOVE THIS GAME SO AT 599 QUID FORGET IT, SO I WENT FOR CALLAWAY SUB ZERO MAVRIK AT 250 POUNDS AND YES I NOW FIND EVERY FAIRWAY DO NOT LOSE BALLS EITHER NOT BAD FOR SOMEONE OFF WRONG HANDICAP IN MY OPINION, 19 . AND COMPETITIONS ARE NOW TOO DEAR TO ENTER 2.50 AT START OF LAST YEAR NOW A FIVER . NO INCENTIVE TO ENTER NOW OTHER THAN PAIRS AND TEAMS EVENTS , They say that they want to grow the SPORT from what I've heard people are leaving DUE TO PRICE.
Incomplete review, you were in the wrong loft, you didn't switch the weights or look at lighter weight higher launching shaft for the for the triple diamond....why waste everyone's time....
