The veteran musician played in both hardcore bands, Stompin’ Ground and 4-Sides. Formed in 1988, Stompin’ Ground pioneered Singapore’s hardcore music, also known as Lion City Hardcore as coined by Suhaimi. Signed to Black Sun Records, then Pony Canyon Singapore they released 4 albums in total. He was also playing in 4-Sides’ together with his brother where in 1997, the band was signed to Springroll Records. a division of by Pony Canyon and released their debut album Definition. Currently, Suhaimi plays in LC93, that plays Singapore 90s old school hardcore punk with the aim to present the legacy of Lion City Hardcore music to the current generation.
Suhaimi also started Reconstrux Records which released the pioneering Lion City Hardcore compilation, "Together At Last" in 1992, and recently released an album by hardcore band, Out For Blood. In between, Reconstrux has organised 11 well received gigs/concerts under its Bound By Honour DIY Events banner.
Suhaimi was also one of the founders of legendary skate crew Circus Of Mutants, that was formed in late 1984. They were the first group in Singapore to have their own DIY ramps, and their membership grew to nearly 70 members at it's peak in 1989.
