Ohh guys, I forgot to give you a gardening tip ! Next time you want to dig a hole easily, in advance, generously wet the spot in which you're going to be digging. It's sooo much easier to dig into saturated dirt, than when it's rock hard. Now you tell us : )
It’s lovely to have you back with us, and thank you for creating a bit of space in my day to breathe and revel. You’re building a very special life for yourselves in Charente. Aren’t we lucky to visit you, if ever so briefly. Kitty in the gloaming is a bit of wonderful. 😘
hi guys , that is a long trip , but i think for the dog it is less stressing the on a plane 🙂 lol , just enjoy the bakery things , you will work it of with renovation works 😄 love the hat 😆 action shops got these strong rubble bags . enjoy your stay guys . Yves
Lovely to see you back…unfortunately no elderflowers here in Fuerteventura……. my daughter makes me elderflower spritzers when I’m back in Ireland while they down the champagne!
Just do a bit every day, but make sure you get some done every day. I am in love with Kitty. I am excited to see what you get up to. A good thing would be to spray the entire attic and leave it for a day. That should kill all the bugs. Eventually you might want to dig up the garden completely and start from fresh (getting a delivery of soil). You will get there and it will be beautiful I am sure. Best. ps: it might be time to offer buy me a coffee.
Thanks for your lovely comment Heather. Since we are not here full time we probably will try to keep a more dry style desert garden just for the practicality of maintenance, and we won't add too much more into it for now, although how we would love it if were easier to dig!
Such beauty in every moment even to the hand bag trash hauling with hornet seige! Ah, a life uncluttered by duties, enchanted by sun and breeze, visitors so amiable. Thank you for the small blessings that make a beautiful life.
Hi Jyrki and Robert, so good to see your update. Beautiful, mesmerising and engaging. Your picture of French rural living is absolutely wonderful. I hope you didnt buy that hat Robert, it was a bit dodgy, but the linen looked Beautiful. Hopefully we'll see you both again very soon. Gary
Just discovered your RU-vid channel today and we are enjoying your house renovation adventures. Binge watched all your videos today and we look forward to following the renovations as they progress. Bonne chance! Don & Ed
So good to see you back! I did wonder about your garden... yes, weeds grow abundantly in the Mediterranean climate. I live in Cyprus and can testify to that! And such energy you have! Wonderful.
Elderflower is called mustaselja in finnish , I've never heard of it in the years I lived in Finland but all english people know it and swear by it . I believe it's like this "sima" we make in spring time in Finland . My dream is to travel France and especially the countryside !
Wow... so nice to get a update video from you guys. Hope you guys enjoy your time in France at your home along with all the adventures y'all share. Those memories will last a lifetime and give you a great piece when you guys are over and reminiscing.
This was a peaceful lovely vlog, even with the Asian hornet! We had them here in BC, Canada, also. The elderberry tea is a good recipe. Weeds are a challenge, but home remedies do work in a spray. I love that shop with the hat, very cute. Enjoy the summer guys. I am in healing mode from recent surgery, not planned, and I have constant pain, but this was a nice escape. Cheers❤
I am so happy you are back in France! 30C already! You may have a long hot summer! We are dry in Kansas City, USA, did get a little rain and it is cooler for a few days, but am afraid we are in for a hot dry summer also.
Jyrki is aquiring an Irish accent in his way of speaking. Thats cool. Enjoy your Summer. Cool cloudy days here in California which is great for the garden. Happy Days
Bonsoir, vous voilà revenus pour les beaux jours, et avec eux les festivals !! Pour la musique , vous avez prochainement le festival de Saintes, pas trop loin d'Angoulême. A Confolens : festival de danses traditionnelles de nombreux pays. Etc, etc.
Just beautiful as always. I am hoping you find a way to live and work from Charente. With both your talents, I’m sure you can make it work. Sláinte and santé ❤️🥂
I guess it was a very difficult choice on the selection of hats : ) You both have kind faces, and any one of the hats would be fantastic for you : ) sincerely from San Diego California
Bonsoir, it is a big chance, as right now in France it's so warm. Enjoy your summer break in Charente. But don't forget to let me know if you're planning to perform 😉 🙂
It is very stoney alright. Of course we have laid the calcaire on top but digging down is very poor, so we have been careful what to select when planting. Not being here all year round, we will keep it minimal.
