Honestly i would stay in Fiji. They seem to care for yachties in general vs the rest of the world. You have a normalized living situation, which is the biggest perk. Everywhere else you go you are going to get into a bureaucratic hell.
This episode made me feel sad to realise that living in a Covid19 free environment with sunshine, azure blue waters and welcoming people is not quite good enough...
And I get that they want to see their family, but here in the middle of the country I can't see my family, I have kids living in dense covid hotspots and they will not come home for the holidays because they don't want to risk their parents and grandmother's lives.
Sadly, I have to agree. People everywhere cannot say goodbye to their loved ones when they’re dying, COVID or not, the hospitals will not allow visitors under any circumstances. So to say you are willing to risk it to see a family member just because you miss them isn’t justified in my opinion. If Anna were ill, I could understand. But everyone is safe, happy, and healthy. And they’re even better in Fiji where there’s no COVID, no masks, no lockdowns, no social distancing. Just stay in Fiji! They are superficial reasons to want to leave.

Honestly, I was amazed yesterday. I got into a conversation with someone with opposite political views than me, and we had the best political discussion. It was polite and respectful! She thanked me as I walked away for recognizing who she was and respecting her as a human, and I appreciated having that conversation with her and her respect. It gave me hope for the Country.

The COVID situation is so fluid as well. You could leave for a destination only to have it lock down enroute...... It's a much better bet to stay where you are for now. We all want new adventures, and we'd like to come along with you on yours, but the world has changed, so it's time to adapt, and make the best of it....Cheers.
Your not seeing the big picture you’re in paradise in a Covid free country stay where you are this isn’t going to end anytime soon governments don’t have a clue how to deal with this but Fiji did shut your borders straight away I stay in the UK an island we should have been able to do the same as Fiji but we were too slow to act and close our borders probably because we didn’t want to offend anyone stay in Fiji keep your family safe no need to risk your health

I do not often comment but have really enjoyed watching your life unfold. I've sustained a significant loss in my life this past week that finds me enjoying sitting by the fire here in my home as a November Autumn moves in. I am well, blessed and so very greatful for so many things in my life. Recently, you posted -- speaking that you sometimes feel guilt for not being stateside for the 'fight' we here are going through. I've watched as you and your wife grow and mature as a team and, mastering ocean going life. It is beautiful but more beautiful (if possible) is a seemingly hasty decision to adjust course in life...to break from the 'rat race' in order to save yourselves. Seeing that decision Actually 'flower' and see your decision manifest itself as hoped. As a fellow parent... watching your 'spunky liter' grow to become svelte young adults and even now, more than capable of 'navigating' this crazy world from a (imo) much healthier-values referance point, gives me courage. Again ( in my openion) , if more people would choose more brave and deliberate decisions toward healthy life decisions (sailing the world is not the only option) we here would not be 'bailing political waters in order to save ourselves from a sinking ship'. The loss of my amazing service dog (this past week) shows me just how much stronger I've become. Watching your beautiful family grow, and knowing/trusting the skills you all bring with you as you will one day rejoin 'this ship at sea' --which you've Never really left-- also gives me Great encouragement for our collective future. Growing up on a world class river rated as arctic diving (the McKenzie R here in Oregon) I'm fond of comparing life to the unexpected bends and turns a river will make. When one finds self in the midst and risking going under, if one will relax and keep head above water, while trusting the river that threatens life itself, the river will finally set ones feet on a sandy place where one walks to safety. I would not that you regret or, even, second guess you choice of path. How can we help others lest we first help ourself. hi guys luv the videos. I'm a solo sailor myself and the longest I've done is 1400 miles with a tiller and no autopilot. lets just say i now have an autopilot lol. I noticed when you put gas into your dinghy that you just pour from the can. I discovered on my trip last year and great little invention called a shaker siphon hose. You just put the end in the can and give it a few shakes and it siphons all by itself with no sucking or swallowing gas. even in rough weather you can pour gas with no spills. Just thought i would mention that. I never leave port without it :) Safe sailing out there.
KEITH MY MAN it sounds like you have a very beautiful and SAFE anchorage that you are blessed with having access too!!!! I know you have been away from the US for quite some time now and I don't think you can get the enormity of what's going on here in the US and other parts of the world for that matter but really I know your a very smart person and so is your wife.I just don't want to see you make a hasty decision to leave Fiji the covid numbers are going up and are going to continue going up for quite some time and no one really knows what's going to happen right now so coming from a man who dearly loves his country and will do anything for her I think you are very blessed to be where you and your family are right now. Cases are surging everywhere and unfortunately travel is not a choice or luxury for most of us! Just find the blessings to be in such a beautiful place and Covid free! Most of us haven’t seen their family’s that live afar and it’s incredibly hard ! But until it’s all under control we need to stay safe ! ❤️🇨🇦

If one of your family members die of covid you might look at it differently? Your lucky to be in country that took it seriously and has no cases, you have very little restrictions where your at because of the precautions they took, the only thing your worried about is your restricted travel and the storms you might go through,, why worry about storms? treat it like you do Covid... Dont let the storms restrict your play.... Maybe if you treated the storm search you did with COVID research you might have a different view..
Stay where the virus is in control I was very blase about it until I got it. I wished I was dead more than once in the past few weeks. This thing is no joke and I don't even have the symptoms that hospitalize you. Safe is better than sorry, this illness is no joke. Stay safe.
We stayed on an island near Fiji main. Our beautiful hut had a ceiling fan but no air. I would get up in the night to cool off in the tempid shower. The day time had beautiful breezes.
We will be thrilled to see you guys here in the Philippines . Its pretty normal here especially the ones that are far from the city .. no tourists just plain beauty of nature ❤❤❤❤

Come to Guam. I've been watching you're sailing travels for years. I'm retired military (USAF) and I"m from Texas. Our covid situation is not nearly as bad as you've been led to believe and I'd be happy to let you use one of my two vehicles while you're here. Plus I'm a certified dive instructor and would be happy to take you on some of our better dive locations around the island.
Lived in Cuba for a few years on Naval Station GTMO. Lobster diving was a lot like that, except we didn't have a limit. But we only took what we could eat. No need to over fish.

Fiji is covid-free because it locked down. Just like NZ, where Keith moaned about the loss of freedom. And unlike Guam, where the covid infection rate has recently been the highest in the world. Sometimes short-term sacrifices of freedoms lead to greater freedom. Keith, you are benefitting from the choices made by people smarter than you.

On COVID. You probably don’t have to be scared you die from it. That chance is quite small. But there’s more than death. I have some friends male and female that had it. Some recovered quite fast. Others still suffer quite severe consequences for 5, 6 month now. Without knowing if, or when they’ll be their old self. For what I saw, I decided it’s better not to attract it and live by a few very simple rules. That really is no problem and also protects the more vulnerable people around us. We will find a way to live with Covid wether there’ll be a vaccine or cure/treatment, but science needs a little time there. Just bridge that time and try to stay save, without stopping to live. It’s just common sense. If Fiji is Corona free, it’s the place to be!

Those showers and restrooms look fantastic. The Kiting montage at the beginning was mesmerizing watching the guys "Floating" in air and the speed going across the water, I just hope everyone had a great time! The Lobsters were so beautiful in the crevice, then I'm certain they were even Better on the Table! Stay where you are, I'm sure you can explore more in that area. You guys are free at the moment. I live in Massachusetts and they are rolling out more restrictions like all restaurants and bars will close at 9:30. We have to wear a mask everywhere in public.
Burglers! There are strict laws prohibiting the use of underwater breathing apparatus to collect, take or dive for fish throughout Fiji. If you plan on using fishing nets, there are mesh size restrictions - again, enquire with the Fisheries Department for these regulations. The following information has been taken from the Fisheries Act Cap 58.
My husband is in Guam now for work and basically hates it haha Easy to fly back to states, they have a daily flight to/from mainland on United. BUT if you come back to Guam I believe you have to do a 2 week quarantine in a Govt facility if you are not an 'essential worker', even with a negative COVID test. This could change of course. As of today, everything is basically closed except for essential things. Masks required everywhere. He can't wait to get out of there.

I always thought it was universally illegal to spearfish or collect crabs/lobsters/crayfish with scuba. Assumed you could only do it while free diving. I guess it is actually only true in some places? Good catch
Sure do gotta thank you guys for setting an example for my wife and i . Our kids are10,9,6,6 and we just bought a hunter 456 passage and we sailed her down the east coast and took our kids to see new York, Newport and Charleston museums, monuments etc, it was a great and educational journey we did together as a family. My ten year old just got her dive cert. Been following you guys for a while durting the research process of sailing . We are moving toward a similar lifestyle after the young ones get to experience school for a few more years, then we want to be out in the world on the water. I appreciate you guys and gals of Zatara

Stay where you are. Covid has exploded here on the West coast in recent days. We are outside of Carson City, NV. Restrictions are coming fast and furious. We haven't seen our daughter in almost 6 months and she only lives 3 hours away but our 11 year old granddaughter, who is very special needs, is so high risk that we can't take the chance. I understand what you are feeling but best to stay in a safe area. The holidays this year will be different for everyone.
Come to Thailand! Thailand is pretty much Covid free and there is a new exemption for sailors / boats to enter the country. Yes there is a quarantine at entry but then you're free to stay on your boat. The visa regulation currently are 'open end', means the usual 30-90 day visa cycles get extended pretty much indefinitely. No hassle. The south of Thailand is a classic tropical gorgeous tourist destination and currently very low frequented as tourists are not here. The center (incl Bangkok) is the best and should be seen once you are free to travel inside the country. The north is different, amazing on its own and best in the 'winter time', which is the same as in the West just not so hot - I (and many friends) do a motorbike trip in the mountains at this time of the year and it is breathtaking. Come to Thailand! It is possible. It is gorgeous. You will not regret it.
The Philippines may be a challenge. My in-laws are from there and they are not going back yet. It is still restricted and self quarantined on arrival. Enjoying your channel.
Why did you scuba...instead of snorkeling....for the lobsters? I believe you need to give them a fair chance as well. To me, that's the rule of not only the oceans, but hunting on land as well.

I am sorry for your loss and sickness. I and a lot of other people are well aware that covid 19 is real. We just disagree on the best approach in dealing with it, how causes of death should be attributed, and how enforcement of opinions without sufficient evidence as laws can be a slippery slope. People can have different opinions without them being categorized “alpha “. In this case, my opinion was when covid first kicked off caution was warranted. Once it became apparent that it wasn’t as virulent as other sars and that countries with vastly different approaches had similar results or even better results for the ones employing less draconian procedures then it became apparent some measures were more harmful to society than others. It definitely poses a threat to those compromised with other health issues, but so does the common cold, influenza, strep throat, pneumonia, fungal infections, etc. To provide an analogy let’s take shark attacks. Sharks do attack humans which result in loss of limbs or life. It can pretty much only happen in the ocean or in some rivers/lakes (bull sharks). However, even in areas of high shark human interaction, such attacks although deadly are very rare. It’s not any less real when it happens, it’s sad and a life changing tragedy. However shutting down the ocean long term to water sports or culling sharks is extreme reaction to the risk incurred. Just saying.
So interesting...you’re ready to move on from Fiji when ninety percent of the rest of us would love to die there. 😂 I get it...I live 50 miles from the New Orleans French quarter and it’s the LAST place I want to spend a weekend. LOL.
A LeBlanc sad, but true, especially in a COVID pandemic. We are telling friends and family to not visit for quite some time because the French Quarter, etc is not somewhere to even take a quick peek at right now. Praying she recovers quickly. We are in Covington across the Lake Ponchartrain Causeway so about 40 minutes from the French Quarter. My husband’s office is in the CBD so we brave it when we have to. Very thankful he can work from home.
The grass might be greener somewhere else, but you have to consider that it might be because of a leaking sewer/septic pipe! Stay put and realize how many of us wish we could trade places with you right now.
Although I understand your need for adventure, I would not recommend leaving Fiji. Anywhere else its going to be worse. Enjoy your freedom, no restrictions and face masks like the rest of us. You are where you are supposed to be. Take it form the ones in the cities with pathogens and quarantine. Dont move yet while the we have second Covid waves everywhere.
I will make this comment : my son who is Australian. Over seas working (is) unable to return to his home land. There are still rules for him , the added Costs of many thousands dollars and forced lock-in at state nominated hotel. He is not in a covid hot spot country at all. So I too can not see my son at Christmas, nor my baby grandchild. Only months old. There are many of people who can not see their family members. ( due to the times of xxx). So, be blessed you do not have to wear mask and have all the other restrictions, us land people have to endure every day. Good luck with the seasonal weather. Do the usual. Skype or zoom or what ever. That our only form of communications. And we are on land, but can not travel to various state in our Australia
I would stay in Fiji. Pray that one day you can explore again and give great content to us the viewers. I don’t know what it feels like to walk in a store restaurant ect without a mask or go to an event with others. We can’t in most of the world.
