Here she is, my new trusty battle frigate 🤣 SD card kept switching the gopro off so I ended up with just enough scraps to upload. (D37 is the pennant number of a certain ship 🫡) #vstrom #vstrom1050
I love it Dunc. Perfect colour choice, cracking big bike, perfect time to buy it due to the now different variants of that model meaning you’d have got that cheaper. Perfect engine, perfect design, it’s a Suzuki and is solid, it sounds lovely with the standard exhaust (can hear the induction sound when on the power). Perfect bike
Wow! You've just made me doubly happy I bought it! 😁 tbh Chris it was always gonna be a strom 1050...the colour was pure luck. I couldn't the deal I wanted on a couple of black xt and this was the last strom around for miles...plus I had to get a trade in dealer. Cheers mate 💪
Actually, I wish tomorrow I was picking up your bike. Instead it's a black '24 DE. Good lookin' bike but i like the 19" front and your bike sits lower without all the electronics. I'm still elated and I'm going to ride the snot out of it. These really are great bikes. We're lucky to have them.
I changed the pipe on my 650 vstrom and hadnt got it home before regretting it. If you're touring, a quiet pipe is better, imho. If you're heading off road, good luck. Had 2 650s before going over to the dark side. Great bikes.
I agree. I'm sticking with the stock pipe, it sounds good enough for me😁Off road, nah, the odd gravel track is the most I'll do tbh. Yeah mate truly great machines 👍
Wow D., what a great looking bike! 👍 It’s a real beast! 🤘 The accessoires look great on the bike. Nice that grey/black color mix. We hope you will have a lot of fun with and many many save rides!!
Ah Duncan, I'm pleased to see you've remained in the light even although you've chosen a shadowy shade ( can't beat a bit of black). It's a Beast and it sounds quite Beastly even with the standard can. Hope you have many, many, happy safe miles on it and I'll expect to see it in Scotland sometime soon.
What a great looking bike. You make me feel bad, owned my W800 for 2 years and still no centerstand. I just don't think it's worth 250 dollars for it. It will cost me 5 dollars per time I use it. Metal and a spring, come on, 75 dollars max. Anyways, happy travels. See you on the next video sir!
hmm, I tried to get rid of as much weight off of it as I could, you seem to have went the other way around :) I also got the SW crash guards, but only the lower ones. Got rid of the center stand and slapped a lithium in it. I was looking into getting a MIVV oval, but 400 euros for -3 kilos ... I said pass for now. And either I wasn't pushing my 650 enough or smth but to me the 1050 feels more flickable ... and that front brake is miles better. And uhm ... are you in mode C? get those tires broken in so you can put it in A asap :))
As she is atm she is probably lighter than my 650 was with the hard luggage 🤠Just trying to make it my own I guess. Yeah I almost bought the mvv speed edge but only for looks and sound but both would have been minimal so nah. That was my 15 mins on her after getting it home, I did try A and B, B was nice A was nicer 🤣
Strangely enough the styling is retro inspired from an older Suzuki 🤷♂️The colour, well it never really got my juices going, I wanted the all black but now I love it!
@@GermanJobbies it has a bit of retro 90s anime like ghost in the shell or gundam. I can see where they are coming from. Cool as fk. Its the only adv bike i think about gettin. Suzuki really nailing design atm. They have a few great looking bikes.
@@GermanJobbies … too late!!! Not a chance mate!!! Now you will have time to get used to the big one…very nice bike, i like the colour a lot!!! Safe travels and don’t miss the 650 too much!!!!!😂😂😂😂😂
@@christostsikouridis7674😂you bassa! Yes mate I find this colour to be inline with my personality...dark, mood depressing 😂😂 Ok then I will just have to learn how ride her like a wee V😊
Them Vstroms are a bit like me, you get used to the weight! Think you'll find that once you do get a bit more familiar with it, you'll be chucking it into them bends like the 650. My Versys is even heavier, and I can take a bend at 30mph on that easily😉😉😜😜😁😁👌👌
Aye Nige, I guess it's all relative, coming from the wee etc. You're just well built mate...apart from the shoulder 🤣 Yeah I did think about your beasty and the size and power...a real monster 💪💪🏍
@@GermanJobbies Think I might be looking at something lighter again soon. I haven't dropped it yet, but came close yesterday 🤦 I'm retiring in July, so may look then.
The Vstrom's are heavy buggers even the 650 is quite heavy but they're great value for money.Benelli are heavy bikes too.The Tracer 700 is a light bike 198kg wet. Most Touring bikes over 650cc are 210+ kg- 240kg.My Trident 🔱 is only 189kg wet & is easy to push around & nimble as & fun but a heavy bike is good in the wind pros & cons.
@@GermanJobbiesDon't want to lift any bike.My back stuffed twisted spine at 18 then broke my T3,T6,T7 20 months ago. It'll be a back facing towards bike lift or wave🙋 someone down to help to lift bike these day's.
