Beautiful watch - especially in that light! The wave pattern and electric blue color is so classy. As you're showing the color of the dial in the sun, I'm thinking about the song by Australia's band Icehouse with one of their number one songs - Electric Blue from 1987. It's still a favorite 80's song in Australia and North America. Keep up the great content! Thoroughly enjoy it!
I agree it's always best to get a watch in as full a set as possible, and I've had many many dozens of them. But it's also super liberating to get a watch as is, as long as it's one you really really want, in great condition, from a trusted seller. And I've had a few of those too. I just bought the titanium version of this electric blue, on the Ti Bond bracelet. I searched for friggin' years to find one, got it at a great price because of no B/P's and never plan to sell it. it's perfect! And now it's just my watch, with no additional paraphernalia taking up space in my house.
Full Set for me is like having all the history of a watch, but actually none of it is particularly relevant given the warranty card is expired anyway, and boxes can be bought on eBay for a few dollars. So yes, I totally agree with you, and like the analogy of the naked watch having its baggage removed and you creating your own history with it. Maybe I've been looking at it the wrong way all this time...my 1969 King Seiko has no accessories and I like the mystery of wondering what it's history was, but also being the new custodian of such an old and well cared for watch

Thank you, yes it's in very decent condition. Been groomed absolutely as the case and bracelet is spotless, but no major dings, which is the important thing
Lovely video with the Fantail and the story about Surfer’s Paradise. I also bought that exact watch last summer in Japan (where I live). Also in excellent condition full set, but originally bought in Yokohama (where I used to live - now in Tokyo). Agree the stories behind these watches and the colour the warranty card brings to its heritage bring are part of the fun. This watch is really stunning. Agree with the caseback - I prefer it so much to the sapphire. I love also the flat profile, but that dial - my oh my ❤. Second only to the SBDC151/SPB259 Ginza Alpinist, which to me is the most stunning dial I have seen on any watch - (including Grand Seiko). They are very expensive now compared to their original retail price but if you can find a good deal, worth checking out! Love the vids - keep up the great work!
Thank you! I had a look at that Seiko dial, and it looks quite stunning! So many nice watches in Japan. I suppose it's a combination of a large fairly affluent population, and generally a culture of being very well presented. It must be a great place to live.
I did excatly the same thing just a week ago. But mine was the only in japan limited edition automatic 36mm Jacques Mayol. Got a great deal for $1300. Nearly mint condition.
Yes, the JM is limited production for Japan market. I got the green wave dial full-set when vacationing in Japan few years back at a very good price. This 41mm is a much better choice though IMHO. Congrats Mark. Great taste
Gorgeous watch, Sir! How do you like the mirror polished bezel so far? Is it too striking for casual occasion? Hows the blue dial come to play? Is it look darker most of the time while indoor? I found one complete set on sale, but have no gut to purchase mainly because of the bezel, and my watches are all black dials and bezels. I appreciate yoyr thought on this. Thank you 👍🏻
Personally I think the blue dial looks very deep and dark in all but the brightest light. The bezel doesn't reflect as much as you'd think either so in bright sunlight it's at its most vibrant but in normal light it's quite understated.
Great buy! I also recently purchased on Chrono24 a 1999 Omega 2531.80 B&P and love it. BUT I have just purchased again from Chrono24 new 2024 Omega Seamaster Railmaster co-axial on a bracelet with 5year international warranty. This forgotten watch overshadowed by the Speedy and Diver 300 is an unbeatable bargain. Check it out Guys.
Nothing screams luxury more than Instructions in a million languages, hardly comfort or elegance and it certainly doesn't provide pleasure or satisfaction finding the correct section. It can't be that hard to find out what language you need and just provide that book . Nice watch though .
Truly happy for your purchase. This era of Seamaster it's truly one of the most underrated watches ever. If Omega can recreate this version to modern standards they could charge double what the current 300 goes for. However, even then so many would want to be bribed with discounts to buy one.
@@TheRandomWatchDude I doubt it. Based on the most recent designs and movements it seems like they lean towards a bigger case. I think a happy compromise would be an awesome new bracelet that tapers and quick change feature. Maybe some better two tone options and dial colors.
