>Picks Barbarian >Refuses to Rage >Refuses to throw the intellect devours around and at each other >Why is melee so boring? Edit: There is a bit of hate going on in the videos comments, so for that reason, this is not meant as hate just pure a bit of satire. Enjoy the game man!
Yeah, it was evident that he didn't even try to give it a fair chance, obviously the game is objectively good, but not for everyone, tho he went in trying to nitpick and make everything look bad
It just means you have a bad opinion and don’t play the game properly Also going into a game not liking it isn’t exactly gonna be a good playthrough lol
@@ethanbloodworth619 Eh, if you don't like basketball, you don't like basketball. Though I'm sure repeatedly telling him he's not playing the game properly will make him see the error of his ways if you 're condescending enough.
i love your editting and i know how you feel, im more into elden ring or dragons dogma type of games not turn based, so i got bg3 with a bunch of friends and 3 of us never touched it again and i refunded but one friend stuck with it and convinced me to come back if he bought it for me, took me around 30 hours until it clicked but when it did i was hooked, 8 weeks later i have 600 hours on it
im the same haha, never was into turn based or that sorta zoomed out point and click style. i made a bunch of characters and did the first area a bunch of times before things clicked for me as well in terms of how things worked and once i understood that more i was free to love all the other stuff like the characters stories and personalities, its odd but every choice having different outcomes has put me also hundreds of hours in and still learning new things about the game there is so much to it. Yet, i still cant stop creating characters, i think 200 hrs alone is probably character creator i love making characters lol
I hated turn based combat, but i love rpg's so I gave baldurs gate a chance. Now im in my 20 hrs playthrough, and i fckin love it. The world, dialogues (Im playing with bard so pretty much all the dialogue options are open. I can trick them, lie to them, I can make them do something they won't do normally with persuasion), npcs, spells, tons of things to interact with in the environment, i mean you can even talk with a mouse. I recommend you give it a chance and play some more, at least till level 4-5 you will love it, it's an amazing game. After this im gonna play dos2
Paladin is also a good bet. It's got the charisma to do most of the bard things and you get to drop some absolutely COLD lines standing up for the cause of justice and righteousness.
at 50 seconds i could already tell you what the problem is. going into this game first run with one of the magic classes is one of the worst things you can do. besides maybe warlock, the magic classes and how magic works in DnD is complicated if you dont know what your doing. and this game tries to get as close to the actual Dnd ruleset as possible. So early game caster (again besides warlock) is extreamly hard to use. Those classes really tend the shine in mid to late game. Your first run and for ease of use in combat should stick with barbarian, fighter, or paladin. I would recommend those especially for someone who plays COD as you dont need to really read and figure out what stuff does with those classes. you just run in and smash stuff.
You don't have to feel bad for not enjoying it more. I actually gave it a ton of time, making it all the way to the last quarter of the game, but I realized I wasn't having fun anymore. It was boring and tedious, and the randomized D&D mechanics and limited skill usage that requires constant rest, or dancing around whether or not to use a skill in case I need it later, made me start to despise the combat. I'd take Divinity Original Sin 2 over this hands down.
im not quite done with the game yet myself but honestly? in my experience you can just use your abilities whenever you need them, there really is no downside to taking a bunch of long rests (quite the contrary, you might miss out on some cutscenes if you dont longrest enough) so if a combat drained a lot of your resources... just rest lol. Now if you had any other issues thats a different thing and completely fine ofc. Maybe you didnt find the story interesting anymore or you had some other issues - absolutely fine, no game is made for everyone. However if the only issue you had was the skill economy, id advise you to just try resting a bit more and see if the game sparks more joy again :)
My guess would be, just from this comment, you actually never played DOS2 or view it through extremely rose-tinted galsses. Just gameplay/combat - no basic actions, like jumping, limited verticality, no reaction system - difference in 1 lvl is absolutely brutal and cheese tactics are needed, thus week one balancing patch for DOS2 and a balance mistake acknowledged by Swen during GDC DOS2 post mortem - speaking of randomization - randomized loot, right, which throws away build planning, some people like tho, but it is an absolute - armor system, like cmon, it is pretty much recognized fact that armor system is just not good enough (it isn't trash, but kind of warps combat around it and makes it tactically boring) - endless surface effects, which were asked to tone down during EA period for BG3 because they were soooo annoying - movement and actions tied together in the action economy - much lower reactivity and interactivity in general - ....and plenty more minor flaws don't get me wrong, DOS2 is a great game, there are couple of things it does better, like progression system/builds variety, or spells having cooldowns instead of spell slots, but that's pretty much it, other thing not only are better, but acknowledged to be strict improvement by Larian (which is fair, because true), just like with DOS2 being strict improvement over DOS1 not to mention production values, from storytelling, to perfomance capture, that is besides the point nothing wrong with liking something over something tho, as a personal preference, but there is an objectivity somewhere there
Watching someone playing a game he hates, which is by the way the best game in decades according to me and the rest of the world, isn't much fun. Especially if it's a game with deep mechanics he doesn't care to look up. So yeah, COD destroyed your brain. IMO, COD is the shittiest game series in this world, how can you have fun with shit but not with gems? I don't get it...
Baldurs gate 3 is, objectively, an extremely good game, HOWEVER, while people like me absolutely love the game and can put hundreds of hours into it, its not a game for everyone. It is absolutely okay to not like a good game. i don't remember who said it, but the phrase "A game for everyone is a game for no one" exists for a reason. Obviously this game also has flaws as no game is perfect, so overall, it is completely normal to not like this game, if you dont like these types of games. But it is also important to go in with an open mindset rather than playing it and wanting it to be bad. It is very evident you went in with a bad faith mindset, trying to be mad at everything and not even looking into the deeper mechanics of the game rather than trying to have fun in this game
Not calling you out here specifically because I’ve seen a few comments like this now, but I’m unsure how you can think I didn’t enjoy this video. I get you’re new here and might miss some of the sarcasm and in-jokes and stuff like that, but I’m confused how you can watch this video through and actually think I wasn’t having fun. In the outro I literally say I enjoyed it 😅
Maybe if you want to enjoy the game more you should try a run for Paladin. That shit is not only op but fun at the same time and it can cast multiple good spells and beat the shit out of creatures at melee range
i have come back to this comment section, and now i shall blend with the comments. YOU DON'T HAVE TO FORCE YOURSELF TO PLAY IT, IT'S NOT A GAME FOR EVERYONE, I KNOW YOU HATE IT AND HATE YOURSELF AND THINK YOU'RE A BAD PERSON BUT YOU DON'T HAVE TO MAKE THIS VIDEO, FR FR, (did i do good?)
Dropping another comment. Idk why people are hating on you in the comments, just enjoy the game and ignore those shitheads. You mentioned playing dnd before, so just see the game as dnd. Try messing around, the devs put a lot of work into the game to account for every possibility and see what happends. Of course it is not for everyone, I would say play until you are level 6 or almost 6 and see if you are having fun. If not you probably will not start liking the game any time soon.
Woah fam your going out of your way to hate on it. U didnt even play it at all like any human being ive seen play the game before lol. But on the plus side you may just go viral from being the most hated youtuber known to man .
@@prozkryptix more like cat. You can get it back as a summonable companion towards the end of act 2. In act 3, when you summon it around people, it projects itself as a cat in their minds
No, it's when is stops being fun. For me. You can mess around a lot in this game, so it lends itself well for mindless fun with friends, but the game is so good and deep that I can't play it in that way
let's not pretend you didn't create this video for the viewership. hey hey i'm gonna FORCE myself to give you a dislike and not watch the video. super easy actually.
People like you are really obtuse. You go into something claiming to be open but in reality you're forcing your own mindset to not like the game. Learn to be more open-minded and not so simple-minded
