@@OneGreenSeaTurtle well snow golems/snowmen dont spawn naturally. you have to make 2 blocks of snow towered, then put a pumpkin.

@@OneGreenSeaTurtle because their food sources are all gone, and therefore, they starve to death. Resorting to cannibalism isn't exactly a fullproof plan, as they will still die out eventually. Evolving to be able to survive off of the snow/dirt/whatever is left and nothing else is not exactly an option, as that takes generations and generations to evolve even a tiny bit. They don't have enough time for that.
