Honestly I’d actually be down for Pokémon reacts from the beginning to the current episodes it’s a really feel good series & the story connects throughout the seasons

Fun fact: Leon in the game is just Champion of Galar region. In the anime he’s a regional champion and the anime exclusive World champion(pretty much strongest trainer out of all the 8 regions).

If you want to see another battle with fantastic animation, I highly recommend Alain vs Ash Round 3 or at least Ash-Greninja vs Mega Charizard X. Before this episode, I think that fight was the most well-animated fight in the series

The Pokemon XYZ Sawyer vs. Ash Fight would be truly something for you to see. I think it has even more stellar animation then this last episode here.

I haven’t watched any Pokémon anime since XYZ, but I can tell you for sure that I loved it as a kid. I remember watching XYZ and going absolutely crazy at some of the fights.

Dude I definitely would recommend you to watch more of the anime. Aside from Black and White which was the most controversial (Black and White is still great and definitely not bad like people make it out to be, imo I just prefer the other seasons), the rest were great and there are many battles that rival this one. You’d also like it if the traveling companions that were shown in this episodes

Defenetly watch all episodes, or at least some of the best battles.

Pokemon Journeys definetly has amazing animation. In Pokemon Sun and Moon, they had a big artstyle change to focus more on fluid and expressive animation. Pokemon Journeys is basically them now getting the hang of it and combining it with more of their usual artstyle.

Leon gave himself a big disatvantage before the match, he allowed Ash to use all "gimmicks" (Mega evolution; Z-move, And Dynamax/Gigantamax) Origanally the format only allowed the use of 1.

tbh with 0 knowledge of the entire series, pokemon journeys wouldn't hit the same fam. Animation is great n all but context is really what drives a series home. That being said pokemon journeys is amazing just like the rest of the regions lol

Even though I haven't followed the anime since X and Y, I genuinely was both happy and crushed that Ash finally won after 25 years and that he RETIRED. Pokemon without Ash, Pikachu and Team Rocket is just something I never thought would happen. I don't think Pokemon will maintain it's success with the anime though. Ash and Pikachu are the mascot of Pokemon. Removing him for random new characters is going to have less viewers.

If you haven’t seen edits of the climax of the Leon v Ash battle using the original dub opening instead of the original sub opening, you are missing out. If they don’t do that for the dub release next month I will be soooooo disappointed!
