Overall the new design is amazing! But one note regarding posting content: I would definitely want a way to do that without going to the Home page. Why? Because over there I start to see posts and it's easy to get distracted. But if I'm on my profile, for example, I could just post something without seeing the feed first. This is what I like about Twitter, actually. I don't have to see the feed if I'm not ready to spend some time there.
Yeah this was one of the parts of the design that I felt was a little too opinionated. Part of the problem when I'm doing this redesigns is that I have to come up with something that's significantly different from the existing UI. Otherwise it's a boring video 🤣
I never watch these videos and was recommended this randomly by RU-vid - which I'm happy for. Thought it'd be interesting for you to know about. Like you say, fonts make a huge difference - what font would you use in an ERP application to communicate reliability and seriousness?
Glad you found the channel! For something like an ERP system, my initial inclination would be to keep it totally basic with something like Roboto or Inter. There's tons of other good fonts that accomplish the "clean and simple" aesthetic though!
I am simply scrolling the frame down with my mouse! On Figma, you can set the sidebar to be fixed, your main content container to be a fixed height, but then make sure that the scroll setting is set to vertical. Now you have an infinitely scrolling content body with a fixed sidebar. Does that answer your question?
Haha we are growing slowly! I'm also still learning how to edit videos better, design better and more consistent thumbnails, and figure out how to make lighting work properly. The bar for good content on YT these days is very, very high. I also don't publish many shorts, which the YT algo doesn't like. In a nutshell, RU-vid has endless options for content to show in people's home feeds, and mine is not yet on par with the alternatives. 👍 Always learning and growing though!
@@DemystifyingDesign I think your redesigns have a lot of potentials in the YT shorts space, as a quick 40 second short, with the before and after and giving some design philosophy on why the new design is better. This would probably really help you grow, and I strongly recommend it.
Yeah I've considered this - the main problem is that most of my content is large UI redesigns that would fit well into a short...may need to revisit the idea
