well explain the she ra reboot from netflix and dreamworks literally the characther have some extra designs and some of the characters aren’t even in the reboot and how come? *IT’S THEIR CHOICE*
BBQCTX: They're just animal-looking emoticons that became extremely viral. 'owo' looks curious, cheerful and friendly, 'uwu' has its eyes closed sweetly so it's associated with extreme tenderness, and many people connect it with the kind of feeling you get when you see something very pure and innocent.
My mom LOVED this show when she was a kid. She had all the merch and even a diary in which she'd write down when every episode aired and a short description of it. If she missed an episode she'd get extremly upset. (They aired on weekdays only.) She had a She-Ra OC and shipped Adora and Bow together. Calling her obsessed is an understatement.
Now if you want really creepy you need to watch Inhumanoids. One of the bad guys is a giant rotting corpse named D.Compose. And he had Starscream's voice actor.
We talking the reboot or the original, here? Because the same-face syndrome is present in both series, it's just that it's Tumblr-tier in the reboot + body mods.
@@aromardu This thread was talking more on the body shape than face; even with it, the new she ra is still better at distinguishing its characters from design alone.
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3CWTWos4RFQ.html I especially like the 8 bit cover or vocal-less version so that it doesn't get stuck in my head later.
No hate, but the the show was revolutionary for its time. It taught me i could be feminine and tough and strong, the two were not exclusive. It was a strong woman lead character when we didnt have many other strong women characters to look up to. Sure its corny now and the animation is what it is, but we wouldnt have what we have now without things like this. To understand it in its historical context instead of mocking it from a modrn standpoint might be a better and more open-minded angle.
Artbug Ok but regardless of having a strong female character, the voice acting and animation should be fair game for laughing at, same as any cartoon from any time period with the same low quality in those aspects. A good script shouldn't make every other part of the show untouchable.
@@zapheil adults "laughing" at the script to a childrens show is kinda pathetic imo. And no, criticizing the animation is not "fair game" if youre just comparing it to todays animation decades later; The animation was on par for an american childrens cartoon for its time.
@@Artbug these aren't adults tho, I'd lay 10 bucks down to say the person who made this video is a teenager hahaha. What you're saying is completely right. Not to mention these shows weren't made to be pieces of art, they were made to sell children toys just like most american children's cartoons in this vein. They were made to sell a product and it was done cheap and quick just like the toys.
Artbug lol dont blame "the times", filmation was just genuinely shitty and never interested in making animation any good. any animator working there will confirm just how dull and boring a chore it was. they just wanted the cheapest possible product, obviously it looks like shit.
i mean to be fair, now that we have the new she-ra it’s understandable that people are going to make fun of the old one. sure, she-ra was evolutionary in the sense that you can be feminine and strong, but the new one brings light to the idea that you can be happy and expressive and be a man, that healthy gay relationships exist, that women aren’t sexual objects, that they don’t need to wear revealing clothing. ESPECIALLY in combat situations. yes, 80’s she-ra is the foundation of our modern show but no one’s going to respect it when it still sexualized she-ra for no reason other than that’s how society saw independent women. as sex symbols. you wouldn’t kiss your husband’s grandpa passionately because without his DNA you wouldn’t have the man you love today. sure you’d acknowledge his part in your happiness, but if he’s a gross, perverted man you’d likely avoid him because that’s not what you want to be surrounded by. old she-ra is the perverted grandpa you avoid.
This show taught me so much about being a strong woman and not really giving a fuck. Looking back of course it's cringey and it doesn't serve the purpose now, but I gotta mention how much it meant to me. The sound engineering too, the lead engineers daughter did the entire song (we have the power) and she sang as she ra, what an absolute legend! No credit for a long time too. I want to be like her and her dad for skills and sound design. On the funny side, you should find the episode where they do the anti drug episode with he man. Apart from the tension ™ between he man/Adam and Bow, the episode is ironically hilarious. It should be around episode 30 iirc
@@ohno8398 Im glad! Bow sometimes pines for Adam and the tension ™ is so strong, but those aren't always episodes that have he man in them. It was probably unintentional, but I think if it was, it'd be very cute thay the twins both fell for the ginger dudes with similar fighting ethics to themselves. (since she ra has captain seahawk) Have fun with the show :D
@@broseidon1658 Y E S XD Catra looked so good in that suit like oh my gawd and Scorpia looked so cute in that dress just the new version is adorable X3
Zaorm Storm, looking back at things, especially with nostalgia is always surprising because you wonder how you enjoyed that content, I loved dog movies back then, no matter the quality, even though it was Rough ( unintentional pun), a younger you was just different and enjoyed different things, if you can realize that the quality was bad then good, you've changed and grown as a person, some people don't...
Chad farmer omg, clearly his personality won the wife over Cannon to the chest dang, love how he was just done Love how Hordak was so nerdy with snorting and such
Am I the only one who is just annoyed of the fact that Glimmer’s mum looks like she is the same age as Glimmer. The only thing that makes them not seem like the same age is Glimmer’s voice
Who said it was a great written show? It's just nice background noise with bright colors. I don't expect anything else from it. New one looks alright, but I'm getting some serious Tumblr fanart vibes from it, and I'm not too sure about that.
@@mray4784 in the original he turned himself into a rocket and flew away, he was the one that got his ass kicked every episode, nobody even considered him a treat, in the new one at least he is not a clown
0:27 this could be an intro to the smurfs lmao 0:38 that's why I don't like kids 1:00 me after pulling three all nighters 1:10 Coran?! BUSHES AND FREEZE CANONS 3:53 never have I been more terrified
I remember coming down from a trip at a hotel after watching the sunrise in the hot tub, to come. Inside and watch someone freak out on the phone over the fact that she ra was on tv
My mum had a she-ra doll...and one time she walked in my room while I was watching she-ra and the princesses of power as soon as I told her what it was she immediately told me to continue watching it
lol everyone keeps forgetting that the original she-ra was made in the 80s so they expect it to be up to today’s standards honestly, most of the comparisons between the two shows are shit because the reboot has an entirely new story and it was made like three decades later
no hate pls i’m trying my best :) Edit: I made a community post regarding this video. If you have any thoughts about this one or the reboot, please read it before commenting!!
Okay, I know everyone is talking about the animation, and the main reason why it looked like that was because back the TV shows mainly profited off of toy sales, so they based the animation off of the toy molds. That’s why all the men and women mainly look the same. Edit: just know I DO NOT hate the animation or the look of the show. It’s actually very beautiful and colorful, and I am impressed.
Glimmer is just as unlikable here as she is in the reboot. It is wonderful that both new generations and old get to experience suffering from this character through out the ages. Beautiful. Truly a time to be alive.
i feel like the first she ra design is just so powerful. it's feminine but also strong and elegant. as much as i liked the reboot, the original has it's quirks
Omg do y’all realize this was kids show I. The 80s? I think you guys seem to be forgetting that THIS was literally all successful cartoons back then, we are judging it by TODAYS perspective, which is kinda not really possible you know
This was probably made because people keep shitting on the new shera's animation/character design/voice acting and viewing the old one with rose colored glasses. Like the old one was enjoyable for it's time sure but in the end it's just nostalgia
