I still can't get over the fact that enemies scale with your power. I hate this lazy approach to balancing so much it completely ruins the game for me. This is the main reason why PoE2 will put D4 into a garbage disposal the day it comes out, which in one hand breaks my heart because I love Diablo universe. PoE2 handles difficulty the same way Diablo 2 did and that's awesome.
They scale to your level, not your actual power and it could make for an inconsistent experience levelling based on your class, your build, and your luck with gear. I liked D3s torment system as it gave the player an option as to how scaled the game was with better rewards given to harder difficulties. I think D4 could have combatted its scaling problems as well by having more power built into the skill trees so even if your gear is crap you still have a chance of staying ahead of the curb. I still think basic skills need more built in damage so they can feel chunkier as you often have to spam them until you can core cast. I think basics felt better in d3 than d4
Is that how it is now? I remeber Nightmare dungeons past 100 will spawn mobs 110 and on. What are you talking about? Strong holds are not capped either at your level as well as some location in early game. Are you saying that you don't feel a sense of progression in end game? because at that point if you haven't felt progression it's probably a bad build.
@@kaom4713 It's more about the lack of enemies movesets and appearance mainly movesets. A lot of games will have multiple variations of an enemy that let you know what you're going up against and they fight different or have new or faster moves. They way D4 is handling it. The same mobs you see at the beginning are the same ones in endgame and it makes you feel like you didn't really do much due to repetitive mobs and no variety your just smacking the same mob and it comes back with more health.... yay. No distinction between them you just hit them harder now. It feels like a cop out.
as a bald guy ... I felt relief when I finally accepted my hair was falling out and shaved it all off (many years ago) - was scary at first but liberating. I recommend you do this asmon - just let it go
@@Ontarianmm Nah balding is incredibly common with us males. If a balding person really wants hair they might as well get a wig after shaving their head.
@@DarkenedAndrew For sure. Make your character, do the Helltide and Iron Wolves stuff. Leveling feels good, the loot mechanics are way better. Give it a try.
D4 bad (yes I’m wasting my time trying to bring others down because I’m lonely and miserable. Therefore no one else may enjoy what I cannot.) D4 bad (So I tried s4 out it’s actually pretty fun, but I enjoy trolling online for free far more) D4 bad *This is a deep dive into the psychology of an inceI. Viewers discretion is advised. The new season is legitimately good, tempering and the new approach to affixes is exactly what the game needed. Drop rates are significantly improved for better gear. Helltides from level 1 are a great idea, means there’s fun content to start levelling from the start of the game. I just can’t believe we still don’t have a paladin.
Honestly Diablo 4 isn’t as bad as everyone says. Each season it’s gotten better and they’re at least making changes. If u play every other season then it’s usually fun.
It's amazing how well Asmon has mastered his facial expressions. When he says "This is Diablo 4 last chance" he doesn't even look like he's smiling, meanwhile everyone bursts into laughter.
Well I like it but I am also a casual gamer. I couldn't care less about the end game, etc. I enjoy the story and the typical hack n' slash ARPG looting. It's fun for now and when I am done with the campaign I'll move on and forget.
Bro, he is a fkin influencer, not a gamer.. He is doing this for ad revenue, not to enjoy the content.. WHEN will you people realize, I swear, its actually funny at this point..
Finally, lots of good changes. I'm really enjoying this season. The gear affixes and crafting is a big step in the right direction. I'm lvl 91 now and very close to starting to push the Pit. For the future, I'd like some more variety of things to do. Helltides are very good early. NMD into Pit and bosses is a nice base. Now, I hope they bring some more fun activities to break away from the dungeon grinding. PoE is great at this, giving you so many choices of stuff to do. Hope they draw more inspiration from them.
The tempering system will allow heaps of new random builds in future, like they took barb bash and made it a legit cleave main attack with new animation just by adding one affix on weapon.
Weren't people complaining when the minions were getting one shot constantly? Now that they don't die immediately and you're able to cast spells other than healing them constantly, people still complain that now the game is too easy? The core problem with Diablo 4 was that it was boring. I don't think Blizzard will fix that anytime soon without just turning Diablo 4 into an expanded season of Diablo 3.
@@abrahammartinez3642 no, i think it's just the truth. That's how blizzard designs games now. Leveling up is just a faceroll to appease the giga casuals and the meta slaves, then you got the brutal endgame to appease the meta slaves and the giga casuals already basically beat the game by then so they're happy. Really the games just about the loot, not about playing the game. It's a gambo sim
As a admittedly casual ARPG/Diablo/POE player, I’ve enjoyed Diablo 4. Its systems make more intuitive sense than POE. Diablo 4 is my chill on my couch and smoke a doobie and use my PS5 game. Generally I’m a Survival/MMO player. I think RU-vid has the effect of maximizing the opinions of the most diehard min-max type players. Maybe it’s because I’m just a couple years older than Asmongold, I’m just gaming for fun. When Diablo 4 ceases to be fun, I do something else. I’ve yet to reach level 100 in any season, yet I’ve had fun. Is Diablo 4 as good as the Diablo 2 I remember from early teens? No. But most games today I don’t view as great as releases from that early 2000s era.
True. Also I think if someone is young and have never played a diablo game before, they might enjoy D4 becausw ita their first and they cant compare it to anything. I just simoly hate the damn enemies scaling with your level thinf.
@@rafaelgalindo4794 that’s kind of my thought. D2 when I was 14 when it released was unbelievable. But D2 is seriously up there with best 10 PC games of all time.
@@irishbob26 Thought this video was about Diablo 4, but yeah, Diablo 1 and 2 (and 3 after some time) where all good. Diablo 4 however, has been shit from the get go and still seems super boring...
I smoked so much cope last night that I’m enjoying Diablo 4. I don’t care if it’s easy because I’m a real person who can’t play for 12 hours on a week day. Smoking cope is good. Diablo 4 is good.
Agreed, this season feels really good for casual players like me. To me, great game, could it be better? Of course, but with how the game feels now I'm much happier than season 3 and I think we will see the game slowly get better as it goes on. It happened with other diablos I've heard, they start off rough, and then get polished as it goes on. I'm happy to keep waiting and playing the game I love.
@@DarkFaynah he's right theres shields but only the necro can wield it, and most of them dont because 2h weapon better, so wheres the shield class? WHERE IS PALADIN/CRUSADER? why we getting skinny druid instead for next xpac makes no sense
Age 26, have a hard job that leaves little time for gaming, diablo is fun and good man. Does not ask for hundreds of hours from you to be fun, it is just fun from the get go. They catered to gaming vets with this one. A good step imo.
The problem is even if I liked D4 now; ain’t no way I’m paying $70-100 for an expansion. So kinda feel like it’s just a waste. And even if it’s better the class / skill diversity still looks boring
@@MadHUN PoE, a 10 year old game, still looks better artistically than D4. Not to mention PoE 2 will be out by years end so yea, im not that impatient. Waste of time and money, there are so many incredible games out right now. I don't even have a life and I can't manage to get to them all. I'm not wasting my time with this gambo sim attack on an art form and a community from activision like... the amount of convincing I'd have to have is crazy.
I beat the main game and quit as the leveling sucks. I feel pretty much as strong after beating Lilith as I did at the start. Sure I have new moves and can run faster but that is pretty much it as I don't feel OP. I don't feel stronger. I haven't felt actual progression. And no, no I am not playing for X amount of hours to get to the "End Game". Dudes saying that are coping hard. If the game only plays fun at End then make that the entire way the game plays. FYI I played D3 for around 7 seasons and maxed multiple characters each season. My Wizard was brutally efficient and racing through heaven just erasing everything felt fantastic. Thing is you could do that from the first play through before ever finishing the game via building right and it not being so meh on how the enemies get stronger. D4 is just all around worse for game play and less satisfying. Even more so with how often builds change and what you grinded for becomes worthless in D4 constantly. It is also annoying how we don't see Heaven or any of the Archangels from D3, which they should have made a showing. Also why was our character immune to her blood and corruption? No mentions of nephalems or so many other things from D3 and lore to explain and revisit for nostalgia. 5 out of 10 stars, mid at best. And no, later addons don't matter. What we have in the base game and base story matters most. If that blows the game blows.
What people need to understand is that the saying 1-3 business days when applied to blizzard it is 1-3 business YEARS to fix something in their games lol.
Went ham on Pre-season. Gave up on S1 half way... Skipped S2, S3. Came back to S4.... Never regretted. Looks like D4 is catering to responsible adults that have actual jobs out there.... Thats a great step into the future of D4 Seasons.
Enemy power scaling to your level is genius. Can't believe no other ARPG has ever done it, or why the majority of players complain about it. Lucky D4 devs know better.
Because you never feel like you are getting stronger. When they introduced this crap to WoW, I stopped playing that game. It ruins the sense of progression. What is even the point of having levels in the game then? Might as well abolish the entire leveling system, and have all players and mobs remain on level 1 and just switch out the gear once in a while. It feels like just a cheap way of reusing material instead of creating more content. Which it is.
@dontbelazy3136I Hear the game is fun when you have friends. Not that you would know or anything but still. 80 dollars is nothing, you can get gas for higher prices than that.
@@maxpain8515 bro no one said shit about Diablo 1 or 2, then they decided microtransactions can be in Diablo 3, immortal and d4 bc all the wow turd kids that bought the dumb ethereal mount. If a game that costs 70$ has microtransactions then it is GARBAGE there is no way around it
One reason PoE turns people off is because 99.95% of the drops are not an upgrade. Fps is also a problem. There is no way to tactical advance. Wealth is gated and items are flipped out of reach.
necro is so strong now that I solod tier 4 at lv 49 or so... which, if you're lucky with drops and also do some item upgrading you can do it even earlier. I wouldn't recommend t4 before lv55 though, bcause all drops are 55 so you can't use the gear you find anyway and you will level much faster in t3 and t2. Also, it felt like I was in T3 for 20 minutes tops before I moved on using some of the great items I found in t3 ... the hell areas are incredible. Everything feels nice now, the looting, the leveling the helltides etc
@@Colki12 lmao he's stating how easy the game is? How is this in any way a flex? Also this was possible even before season 4, at even lower levels which should speak volumes about how much easier it is and how you can go into t4 at a way lower level.. what is weird is how you think it's impossible.
Also you should absolutely be doing world tier 4 the moment you can due to the XP increase. You can't wear the gear but you can store it until you can? So once you hit 55 you already start min/maxing
@@Sirrako No mate, you really shouldn't. At least not in my experience. Because in helltide you end up dying too often to one shots and you can't use any of the gear you're picking up so you're stuck at the same power level until you reach 55. The chests give a ton of xp, so you're missing out on all that xp by dying. It's better to just go to 55 on tier 3, much more efficient. Then when you enter t4 you're more prepared and you can immediately use ancestral gear.
The problem with diablo at a very base level, for me, is that everything feels the same. All the classes. All the spells. All the abilities. All the enemies, all the maps, all the game modes, everything. It just feels the same. It's the exact same house, your choices are just different wallpaper. Or the same plain oatmeal with different food coloring. It's so boring. I played the campaign exactly one time on release then never could play a character past level 25 ever again. The gameplay is so offensively bland that I just can't force myself to engage in it. Without gameplay, what am I supposed to do? Grind gear? Why would I give a fuck about rare gear in an extremely easy pve game? For what? So things die .1% faster now? I just can't find a reason to play it. Last Epoch let's me build unique individual items with the buffs and stats I want, basically whenever I want, as much as I want. Granted I always quit at the end game, because end game becomes similar to diablos brain dead gameplay. I quit PoE end game for the same reason every time. Diablo just starts at a dead end instead of staving it off with challenging game modes and fun leveling and real itemization.
I think theres an issue with basically just using the same codex powers from like level 15 to 100. Just imprinting the same codex powers all game. It feels bad imo.
I hear people say that D4 is boring, that it is the same thing over and over. Isn't that the nature of isometric arpgs? They are hack and slash games with no focus on intricate combat....am I missing something here? I tried the great and mighty POE and that game is also the same thing over and over is it not? I will say that playing isometrics are like playing slot machines....no skill needed, but I love the sounds and the pretty flashing lights....something addictive about that.
Sure the more you progress the more the games opens up to do things that only you can do. Why level scaling is so important I really don t get it. I don t see creep level scalling as a progression
Because the game is stupid easy enough.. without the scaling the game would be WAAAAY too easy and more boring because if you are under powered things can be challenge as it should loll. maybe arpgs just aren't for you, if you think diablo is a difficult game. Because you can be a level 30-35 fighting the capstone boss for t3 then at level 35-40 you can fight the capstone boss for t4..
I think the new season is pretty fun so far. I think s2 was better in terms of the actual season but i think this season will have a longer endgame and more mechanics to interact with
One thing I’ve never understood from the community is that, how fun is it to play a rpg game based on seasonal? What happened to the grinding where you lvl up a main and try to make it as good as possible? How fun is this to get to lvl 100 within hours and within days you get the best items? Who asked for this seriously???? I still play MapleStory and I’m not close to endgame and been playing for years!
the problem was is that everyone wanted diablo 3 just with better graphics and blizzard had to overthink everything and force their bad decisions on everyone to make themselves feel good, i haven't played since launch and i doubt ill ever get back to it.
I Love the ascetic of Diablo 3 too which apparently wasn’t popular. I loved the color pallets as well and having stuff pop out. Everyone wanted a “darker” Diablo feel and their solution was greyscale. Everything looks and feels the same everywhere. It’s hard to want to play when literally everything looks and feels the same. Diablo 3 is far better imo
@@Maelthorn1337 I personally enjoyed diablo 3. It was neat. Enjoyed the campaign and later enjoyed the torment and rift system. Just grew bored over time of seasons always being the same. Wouldn't have minded getting the same with better graphics and some improvements to the game engine/skill trees.
People wanted D2 with modern graphic and modern gameplay, which D2R dont have. D3 graphic was ok but was feeling more like a kid game than a diablo game, some of the gameplay could have been integrated into D4 (not the skill rune system it suck, skill tree are way better.) We ended with a more darker game than 3 but its actually look like trash, everything look like the same color (i did the campaign once and cant even tell you wtf each act look like, all the same.) Horrible scaling that make you weaker every time you level up, skill tree is not even good and there is probably way more on why the game suck but cant tell you since i dont really plan to give it another try, ever.
Huh? Almost no one wanted D3 with better graphics. In fact that was the primary criticism the moment they started showcasing stuff for D4. That it was just D3 with a darker coat of paint. D3 sold well and then lost most of its players just like D4. Even after RoS the retention was so low Blizzard pulled the plug on the next expansion and put the game on the back burner for years. The problem is D3 and D4 are literally missing the whole point of ARPGs. It isn't just about loot and progression. It's a character building genre, which means it needs deeper and more meaningful character customization and a more interesting itemization system than the homogenized stuff one would see in an MMO.
Bro and I (lvl 64 and 51), just clocked the fastest WT4 Capstone Boss fight, all the Bone Golems bone warriors and mages just sauntering over as he coalesced so we were all in the summon circle. We pre-cast Decompose, and no shit, as soon as he solidified…. 1.75 second dog pile slaughter. Busted af
@dontbelazy3136 Absolutely. I haven't even had my hands on PoE2, just seen it at exilecon and they're 100% going for D4s throat. They've simplified a lot of core systems and worked on making the rest really intuitive, without sacrificing much of the games overall build variety. It literally LOOKS like what I imagined D4 looking like in my head lol. Oh yea, it will be a glorious day when I stop hearing about this pile of shit soulless cash grab
Yeah its great. You can afk on necro at the helltide boss and only move to not get AFK kicked and level to you're hearts content. The game is still unbelievably boring, just with more player power to make it so there is no challenge until level 100.
Read this somewhere else in the comments as well but also just wanted to say that literally the only thing that ruins it for me is the fact that enemies scale with your power. It doesn't make the game feel more balancing, it just makes it boring.
They scale to your level not your power, if you’re clearing tier 4 cap at lvl 49, the enemies are lvl 49 doesn’t mean they match the output dmg you’re doing on the same level come on now bro, this is the dumbest argument, you don’t feel strong or your time rewarded when you’re 2 tapping every minion just by walking lol what are you yappin about
Do you guys remember when Brevik said that one of the main reasons that the original Diablo was so much better than other ARPGs was because you just chose your class and got right into the action and started slaying demons instead of wasting time and hours on your character creation screen?
Yeah and that's bogus. You can easily choose a premade character you don't even have to spend more than one second clicking ok start with the character given.
Necro is overpowered this season, solo'd cathedral of light at lvl 35 and it was a slaughterfest, did the same to fallen temple at lvl 53, no deaths and went fairly quick
it might be a step in the right direction but still seems like a snorefest with system after system that means nothing. Same 5 enemies through the whole game. It pretty tho
I still can't get over having a generator skill that does nothing but let me use my core skills, the loop is too repetitive combined with how easy the game is. Difficulty really takes away the reworked loot for me, I still look at the inventory and get lightheaded. I get pissed off and I just start lifting to get the pissed out of my system. Thanks Blizz for keeping me in shape.
@@Kakahshee my god. acting like time makes that better is crazy if you can dedicate an hour a day lets say. on something like PoE boom thats easily the entire campain is just like 7-10 days. depending on if your skill and that campain is 100% better than d4s and after that maps is crazy, its not even comparable to dungeons or whatever the hell d4 has now.
I might give it a chance in another 6 months if a serious gameplay/content patch drops, but loot finally being the way it should have been on launch just isn't enough. If any real addition to the game (like paladin) is gonna come paywalled behind a $70 expansion though, fuck em I'm not coming back.
@@marting.9613 the game is so lackluster. when compared to others in the genre. you guys are literally stuck with stockholm syndrome i swear d3 was fun (i mean overall bad game but fun) d2 wasnt a fan of. but i see what people see it in kinda? PoE is complicated. but its easily the best out there even if you just play it casually. last epoch is the mid child. grim dawn. is alright but not much replayability. d4 literally has nothing going for it. compared to any of the above.
The game is boring. Playing through the story once and experiencing the game for the first time is very enjoyable but other than that it is a huge ‘meh’. Getting one character to level 100 only to realize there is nothing to do with that character is lame. The talent trees and paragon boards are boring. Making a new seasonal character that is interesting for half a day is pointless. You know what isn’t pointless? Spreading democracy for super earth.
I love this season so far. I'm taking my time and having fun with my minions. If you don't like the game as it is, keep complaining, maybe they'll implement changes you like one day. I'm having fun with this season already though and Diablo 4 is probably one of my favorite games to play and chill and watch everything on my screen explode 😂
Sometimes I think when we look at pretty much every single blizzard release since Warlords that maybe this is just some kind of weird business strategy to release things in a state nobody likes and then slowly improve it until it's up to par...Up until the next product is ready to be released with a square shaped gameplay loop (even when it's a sequel to the game they just fixed).
Necromancer is my fave class. I have one now thats pure minion build and it DESTROYS and NOTHING can kill my minions. They slay through things I dont even have to press buttons lol.
dropped the game mid season 2 and decided to just forget about it. after they release the loot reborn and reviewing the changes, i cant stop the grind and really enjoying it. they got it right this time.
lol he's complaining about it being too easy yet using the best build in the entire game lol. Necro has been ass this entire time besides bone spear. ENJOY IT. shred everything. the game is either too easy or it's ass, it can't just be that necro is finally good with minions lol.
