Tfw the GNR mod by Bethesda is put to shame and misery by 4 people that cobbled together a mod in 4 months and is just a fraction of what to expect from the final product.

tfw People still forget that NV was trash on launch and took months of patches just to make it playable, and years of modding to make it great.

@@Oatmealism It isn’t the point that which game is buggier on launch, both FNV and FO4 required months of patching to get the major bugs fixed. It’s the fact that at the end of the day FNV feels more like a Fallout game and has a more compelling story than FO4 ever did.

From what they have said the only settlement feature use will be in player homes.

If it’s completed there’ll be mods for the mod so you’ll have your settlements

If you look at some of their previous announcements, weapon and armor mods will be a thing. It seems like a lot of their armor is like some of the full-outfit armor that was in Fallout 4 and not as much modular piecemeal stuff. I would prefer the latter, but I understand it's much harder to design for. Weapon mods look just as varied as Fallout 4. They showed off the Plasma Defender with mods and it included multiple rifle configurations. Very cool.

Weapon and armor customization that doesn't directly increase damage/armor values should stay. Endlessly scaling armor and damage is one of FO4's weakest aspects. I don't want the DAM/DPS/AP vs DT system broken.

This mod doesn't have thr NV story though? It has no voiced NPCs. It's just an updated version of the setting.

@@nek6730 I've been playing NV again for thr first time in years, and the animations were not ever good. NV has two things going for it, story, and the setting is cool. Everything else Fo4 does better. Everything.

@@VanityOfEliCLee I think they were planning on doing the story and adding all the voice acting, but a couple of years ago - Bethesda made a rule that you couldn't transfer files (not sure if just audio/voice lines or any files) from different games into another game's mod, which really threw the development for F4NV at the time because they were already planning on using those NV voice lines.

@@mfbloc9549 honestly i wouldnt mind voice acting for free in this case. heck if people want to get into it this wouldnt be a bad start because its not official work so the expectations wouldnt be so large and if many people offered to do it for free as a community, or like said for the experience and something to put onto their resume it would help add diversity in the voices so that NCR troopers dont have only 5 voice actors. about 100 people would be enough to add plenty of dialogue to the game. again i wouldnt mind throwing my hat into the ring if they just wanted voices for now and im fairly certain alot of fans of new vegas would love to contribute in a manner that would cost them nothing but their own time and effort which i feel would make the game even more alive with the heart and soul put into it by fans.

Probably a mod needed to change the dialogue wheel. I think they have one already in fallout 4.

There's a mod to expand the dialogue choice amount for fallout 4 (so mods can have more options) and when paired with the whole typed out response selection mod (I forget the name of it), it's exactly like the old dialogue menu

@deathmaker2580 same systems same gameplay same looting same basic combat system except F4 is much smoother the only thing that is different from NV from to F4 is its story which both are very subpar and the major improvement in graphics

I really damn hope the mod also makes the Deathclaws far more dangerous. The commonwealth Deathclaws are far too slow and easy to deal with compared to the Mojave ones. Hell I am more afraid of the Assaultrons in FO4.

Bethesda and Remastering are words that never belong in a sentence together. Bethesda cant even Master.

my honest thought is, if there are indi game devs out there, why dont they remake it in something like unreal engine 5 or unity? heck even cryengine is pretty powerful if you know what youre doing. so my thought is why dont they just remake the game entirely and NOT rely on the potential limitations of the fallout 4 engine? as good as it is new vegas was limited in two ways, firstly its engine wasnt strong and secondly it was out on Xbox 360's which were not all that powerful. with the newer consoles and better PC rigs of today, if they simply would remake the entire game again say in like Unreal Engine 5 it should be better in the long run and allow them to program their own functions without much limitation. there was a guy that remade whiterun from skyrim in Unreal Engine 5 by simply taking the location from skyrim, ploping it into unreal 5 and only making his own assets like the ground, the trees, and even grass. took no time at all and the "sample" he made looked better than any mod could achieve and used code from the original skyrim game which he said is what saved alot of time.

@@moviemaker2011z okay, you get the indi game devs to get Bethesda and Obsidian to allow them to remake the game with backing to do it with all the original voice lines. Or get a team of mod devs that take time out of their lives to actually do this with that engine. It's not that easy to make something like that. Fallout 4 New Vegas is still being worked on almost two years after the trailer while using all original stuff in terms of audio and trying to avoid out right copying so they don't get sued by Bethesda and it might be easier to use Fallout 4's engine because they've made mods using that engine.

Miami and London will blow this out of the water. A lot of effort is clearly going into this but ultimately its a nostalgia project, new Vegas has probably one of the weaker maps out of the fallout games so London and Miami already have that going for them.
