So I Tried Out The NEW Winston Hero Mastery Challenge In Overwatch 2

I like this game mode, after playing it for 10 hours straight and then pretending ranked is the hero mastery mode, I successfully dropped from GM to Masters.

I've personally enjoyed these hero mastery courses - the Mercy one for GA mechanics, Tracer's for blink tech to get to slightly higher ledges and promoting low health recalls, etc. - but I do agree that including PvE tech with the chain lightning doesn't make sense. A player new to Winston is going to think that's how it works in the far more prevalent PvP game modes. I can also see patch nerfs & buffs messing up these courses... Edit: realizing that the explodey containers and ult charge packs don't exist in the normal game either, but idk, those don't bother me as much for whatever reason. Difference of "random stuff to interact with in the environment" v. "character mechanics" I guess. The emblems of course are to promote exploration and suggest pathing, so those are fine

Why do the characters have the pve abilities? Seems a little strange for newer players no? I could totally see a new player thinking he has a chain lighting ability... Seems like a massive oversight they forgot about.

You can get softlocked in the third one at total random btw. The two enemies on that lower ledge in the first area sometimes just don’t spawn and you can’t progress if that happens

Hopefully they fix the PVE right click being here... Makes no sense to train on abilities that don't exist lol

Isn't PVE Winston also get it's jump pack landing damage increase based on how high he jump?

Honestly, my expectations for these hero mastery courses were low to begin with, but they continue to impress me how much lower I need to go

2 tips for everyone, in veteran the 2 low bots can be pushed down by jumping (not by landing but by jumping next to them, way faster) and between 2nd and 3rd room you can jump up to recharge primal, enjoy

Kinda low key wish the charge connected to other players like that, dealing less damage for the chain shots of course but it would be cool.

I wonder if you’re on kings row you can jump under the map and primal outta the gap near the defense spawn to surprise them. Would that be useful? Prolly not but it’d be interesting to see

the mercy hero mastery is so difficult for me, even though i always play mercy and she is super easy 😭😭 i don’t really like hero mastery that much but it’s a great idea

I honestly feel like the Winston one is bad. Abilities that aren't in the game, feels rushed, and overall doesn't really compare to the rein one

Something i wish they do is keep the hero mastery stuff and not make them a limited time mode.

Yeah these courses make absolutely no sense to me. One they aren’t fun and two, it’s not a good representation of what players do. If this was just for people who would rather not play compet or I ranked it needs way more going on to be fun

The mastery challenges are genuinely worse than user created custom games
