Tips for new builders(I felt like writing it, no reasons) 1. Don't actually copy the tutorials. If you can, make it on your styles! 2. Don't use the same texture or color throughout the whole map. It looks quite uninteresting. 3. Don't make ceiling 2 blocks high. It will make bot stuck even more than usual 4. Don't spam soldiers. If you will, at least add a gun for it. Soldier is one of the most annoying NPCs in build mode 5. Use links actively. Links can be pretty interesting mechanics and add spice to your map. 6. Use offsets actively, too. It can add so many details on your map. 7. Don't spam ammos, too. It will make piggy stun forever if you are making escape map. 8. Don't make maps too small or too big. If it is big, the piggy won't be able to catch ANYONE. If it is too small, player will have so little opening and most likely die.
amazing! there are even more reasons for somd of these things you listed: 1. copying tutorials can look lazy and also might not look that good since it sometimes isnt an actual map and more of just a tutorial. 2. the same texture or color makes it look outdated and like you just started building 3. 2 block high ceiling feels and looks cramped, it is like having a 2 block high room in a minecraft house! you are basically just scraping your head against the roof. 4. soldiers are the most annoying npc in bm since they are not very predictable, and might just not match with the map style. make sure to add a fair amount of soldiers in one or two parts of the map instead of filling up the entire room with them! 5. links are good to use since you can make flickering lights, custom events, and some very nice puzzles! 6. offsets are important for wall designs and floor designs, and can also add some details like a puddle on the floor in maps. 7. spamming ammo is super annoying for piggy since most of the time they cant do anything if there is tons of ammo. add a fair amount of ammo and spread it around in the map! 8. imagine being piggy in a server with 20 other people, and the map is HUGE 0-0, you are prob not gonna have fun and lose. now if you are a player in a small map it is also annoying since you have little places and times to juke piggy or just bots. make sure that your map is a nice size
@@MrExofrast i learned links by using the i button and seeing the info, and offsets i learned them in a couple hours! you can use some tutorials and self learning and you will figure it out :) good luck!
Tbh, I agree entirely with this video. Listing why: 1. It’s either just spams of npcs or other things in some public maps 2. The maps are either boring or fun (the maps are really boring is prob the ones that use the popular ideas like WSD, Piggy Says, FNAF, or even Minigames. The fun ones are prob the creative ideas, anything that seems interesting, like the well-maded maps, etc.) 3. Not only, people even try to hide inappropriate things in their maps and pull it on public, + little kids play piggy, pressing those types of maps without knowing what they’re about to see. And others see it as nothing?! Like wth! 4. Even when it comes to getting kicked for the most stupidest reasons possibly, I got kicked for juking piggys in a infection map, saying “lol” when a piggy got stuck onto the door as a joke, etc. (I cant think what else). My own opinion on Piggy BM public maps: I think most of the maps are either boring possibly, it’s rare to see any good or interesting maps public. Most people go for the popular ideas nowadays, the maps get more likes then the good maps. People in BM are even sometimes toxic. That’s all so far.
You forgot certain stuff. As you said, most people that play piggy are KIDS, you know what I mean with this... Since they're kids, they cannot take criticism well, or understand how stuff like textures or links work. And for "boring maps", I blame Build Mode itself, with what we have, we can't just get "creative" and most of the times we have to follow ANYTHING that gets popular, like Piggy Says, or FNAF. We can't really do something else with what we have in Build Mode. I agree with you, but there's other things to take into consideration.
fr I made a map that took 3 days to build and it had pretty good offset walls and decent link use and I see people who made a basic bland piggy says map and people say “this is a good map” “I like ur map” while I’m putting in time and effort into my maps
this is so real. after a hard day of building good maps, i will need a break so i check out some maps by the community and they all suck. add personality!!
I was making a Halloween map it was supposed to be released in October 2023 but since it’s 2024 i’m still working on it I don’t use the same texture in every single part of the map. These public maps definitely need some working. Don’t get me started on the Fnaf maps.
It’s so sad because the good maps only have low reviews like 1-6 and the really trash ones get good ratings and plus most maps are like “auto save,” “Slot 1,” and so on so in its really disappointing and concerning.

The problem with piggy says is that its pretty unfair like sometimes in piggy says map the owner only makes himself piggy and gives himself power kicking anyone who kills him and sometimes they are afk or the map design could just be pretty bland with just some chairs its pretty rare to find a good piggy says map
its sad to see how the Community of piggy died, because of minitoon saying piggy is discontinued so many people frogot about build mode, now all we have is garbage maps with no creativity or anything. always when i host my maps it take me like at least 30m to get people who are not 7 year old and spamming "start". so sad.
i can heavily relate with the start thing, i fix up a bug to improve the quality and gameplay of my map and they get mad. some people say start right after we played a round of my map like what ;-; the new maps we have now are mostly just copy paste or old maps. like i said, the video is not meant to discourage anybody to stop building, but it is sad how most of the maps are these days
@@shane_taken15yeah. I hate the people who say that. I have many names,for example those I call rushers,and I hate when they just ‘advertise’ their map during my map.Build mode is going through one of the worst stages ever.
@@shane_taken15i think i am pro, i have a minigames map with 31 minigames, piggy chooses and there is a shop where you can interact with pony and if u got 5 wins you can buy them and pony sends a message to the server and the dialogue includes what you have to do with the wins.
The sad thing about Piggy Build Mode is that people barely put any effort, I'm making my own map to hopefully contrast this and actually be scary but it is still in the making rn, I'll let you know when it's done
It’s really sad how the poorly detailed maps get so many players yet when I make an actual map with effort they instantly leave. It’s like they want maps with stimulation and bright colors. (Sorry for yapping)

good job on being the only map i actually liked! it was pretty good. i recommend using more links for choosing minigames, and maybe tweaking the fighting minigame a bit! music would also help it feel a bit more lively

Im doing a map and it will be public its called "Phenna's castle" and have lore, and cutscenes, and its big with lights but a bit dark, and its pretty cool the map, hope when i finish it my map gets famous

There is a discrepancy between the quality of maps created by the top 4% of the community and their placement in the rankings. Despite investing significant effort into one of my maps, it did not receive the recognition it deserved.
(I saw the creator of Super Minigames is in the comments, nice.) My friend made a minigames thingy like that and inspired me and yours did too! To be honest using a sign would be better than a note lol
I think one of my best maps would be my Halloween one. It's not just about opening doors and using items but also solving riddles and eventually revealing who the killer is by the end. Some of my latest maps are really detailed and I like to combine older items with the new links. But if I had to choose my best work it would be the Tio chase i created for my temple map. Absolutely perfect. If anyone wants to play any of them just write me a comment!
I've always pointed this out. The server list is always filled to the brim with maps that have no names like 'auto save" and "slot 7 (free!)", and the rest of it is just backrooms, doors, piggy says, fnaf, and minigames. And whenever you join the maps with no name, it's just a map floating in the sky that's made up of white plastic blocks, and it's spamming ammo. Whenever you actuslly find a map that's actually a real map, it's garbage with really bright colors, and no move tool details. It's impossible to find a really good map
poley was around piggy’s prime and was way more easy to get and had a longer time to get it with it being out for a month, eelektra is very recent (far from prime player count) and was only around for 2 days
@@itzfaroff456 no more people got poley? piggy in book 1 was its prime so more people got it, also i am not talking about witnessing it, the only reason why you dont see it is since it is an old skin, do you see tons of people use dinopiggy? prob not. also the way you would get poley was super easy
@@shane_taken15 i do see dinopiggy alot. also getting eelektra was easier as even though getting poley was easy people weren't professional enough at the time to get it easily eelektra was easy to get as people were trained at the game I got on 1 attempt no difficulty

your words are right, this is the reason why they make bad maps, because they built them in 2020 but in this year there are still many people who use the maps they made in 2020, yes that's their own need, after the event link at the realese they made map for example, piggy says and fnaf like that, I hate piggy says because they make things unfair, just play gameover straight away. it is fine until it ends up on the server list, the server list is meant for the best maps to be rated in a positive light to end up higher on the server list, these maps are the opposite. it is not good to see high quality maps get pushed aside in favor for maps with the same trend, and/or being just a bad quality
The reason theres never any good build maps on the server list is 1 they leave there map on private or 2 bad player think the good map is hard and they dislike it and they instead like trash ahh maps
Bro for me it's the same thing when I'm visiting this... I don't know what to say but they kinda very sucks. It's rare to visit a really detailed map. (In a secret most hated type of maps for me is piggy says but I visit them 💀💀💀) I'm trying to build my deleted map that called "carnival remastered" I'm already got to the building the full carnival but at least it takes some days to build it. I know that no one wants to visit my maps because they are so sucks 💀💀💀
Okay I really don’t mean to be rude, but sometimes in this videos it really seems like you’re bashing on the smallest of details that don’t really make a difference, which just make it seems like you’re really trying to find a reason to call the map “bad” or “unprofessional.” I don’t mean to be rude at all, but it is quite difficult to make these maps and I would know since I have made plenty of them myself. While some of these maps definitely need improvement, it just feels like you’re desperately trying to criticise every map you join. (Sorry for the long message lol)
@@shane_taken15 Like in the first map, you pointed out that the door had a different color then the walls, which could of just been a simple error but it’s almost as if you pointed out because it makes a huge difference in the map. Another example of this is when you were commenting on how the dialogue is very off and not so good. I understand that most of this stuff is made by kids and that you want to point out every mistake, but there definitely are some good things in every map that I just don’t feel like you’re acknowledging. So yeah perhaps next video you could be a little less harass on the maps and say at least one positive on a map? Trust me there are some people on RU-vid that would say much worse things if you kept making videos like this. And while it personally doesn’t bother me, it’ll definitely bother them more. (Sorry that I worded this badly.)
@@JakeGoesBoom i think those are fair to acknowledge except for the door one since that was kinda random of me, i just noticed it while editing and found it strange. i personally think i was not too harsh on the maps but i will try to be better next time
idk why i struggle making flickering lights how do u it exactly because i made a first person creepy map wkth patrolling points and want some flickering lights because i know how to turn off lights using the NOT gate but i used timer then looper could someone pls help me
make a touch trigger at player spawn stay on forever, then connect that to a looper(s) with max loops and any interval. the looper(s) would then connect to not gates which connect to lights
i feel like minigames maps are more acceptable since they can actually be good, but piggy says is really bad. at least with minigames there can be variety
Man build mode really lost what made it special, CREATIVITY literally there use to be like chapter maps or some other creative thing now all there is are people spamming piggy farm token maps and fnaf maps💀
Can you try my map put "Elioq12" I'm making my own chapter 1-6 chapter one two and three are finish except 4 5 and 6 chapter one is mansion but my own kind chapter 2 is willows house and chapter 3 is store/walmart(don't bully me because I made a map that's really big I tried to work hard)
Today I entered a map called abandoned mansion but it wasn't even dark, it was full of decoration spam to pretend it was the "abandoned pile of objects", the map was all light
istg the server list itself id garbage too. we should be able to join your friends in a server without typing out a name and we should be able to manually reload the server list, not misclick constantly. piggy says is also a burden of modern build mode. they never work, half the server is just 3 year olds. curse you, tussygames!
yes! those features would be good, but we also need to be able to search up for maps! this would deff be useful for anybody trying to find maps they want to play. piggy says is a terrible map as it is boring and just copy paste. i do think tussy is partially to blame but he didnt know what he would cause for bm
Yeah it was Tussy’s idea, but it’s not his fault Piggy says exploded in popularity for no reason. Not like he’s done any recent videos about piggy says so…
you know hating on peoples stuff hurt them right? i mean, you have the point but, people might be kids creating this type of stuff and if you think everything is ugly, dont even play piggy build mode on the list ever again. thats all there is to say man.
it shouldnt have to be this way tho where you dont play server list maps at all. always my hating is criticism, and i actually did like a map. you guys act like i personally tell the map owner insults ;-;
