And I agree with you about the frizz. I think it makes the style look that much better. Fresh twists and braids look nice when they’re glossy, but even without extensions, my frizz doesn’t take away from the glossiness of this style because my hair is still (somewhat) stretched. It’s also a great style for showcasing shrinkage-it just makes it look even better.
I’ve been washing mine every week. Like full blown rinse, shampoo w/ applicator bottle, then conditioning w/ an Ayurvedic tea rinse. Dry it in a shirt before adding a twist butter on top. I don’t have extensions so I just pull my bubbles to tighten the roots (not too tight of course) and done. The longest part of that wash day is the tea rinse, which determines how long the entire process is. When I’m in a hurry I can be done within an hour.
This style can be kept indefinitely, yes? If your hair grows out then you could just do what you did to maintain it and then just keep growing it out. Seems like a style I would keep until I reach my hair length goal and don't have to use extensions anymore.
well.. maybe not indefinitely. you dont want your hair to lock up underneath the style. but keeping it in for a few months then redoing for however long you want to keep them in, yes 🤍
