@@longsleevethong1457 WHY? BTW, Tony Stewart didn't kill anybody. The kid got out of his car, after the wreck, and wandered out to the middle of the track. That was extremely stupid, dangerous, and cost him his life. The rule is stay in the car until a safety team arrives unless the car is on fire.
I remember seeing Frank Hawley in those old "...And They Walked Away" Diamond P Sports videos back in the day. He had a fire or two in that funny car and I remember Steve Evans interviewing him afterwards.
If you were to compete you’d join Danny Ongias and John Andretti as drivers that have done it in Indy, Cup, Sprint, and drag racing. Pretty cool company.
Did Kurt Busch ever race sprint cars? If so, he would be in that list.. and I did ‘t know that Ongias drag raced.. was it in one of the professional categories (Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock)?
@@srsykes49 the “43” in my tag is for Richard...lol And I do remember him racing those Plymouth’s on the drag strip way back when...😁 But I’m sure it wasn’t in Pro Stock. I think he was running in a Modified or Super Stock eliminator class. (Wasn’t going to embarrass himself running up against the big boys.. Sox and Martin, Mopar Missle and all the other Top Guns...Grumpy, Dyno...etc....lol)
OMG that was pure eye crack!!! I couldn't look away and replayed it several times! LOVE watching you behind the wheel of any racing vehicle! You and speed go together so well!
Hey Smoke, I like to relate myself to you and have a variation of racing disciplines. Although I have never made it big time, and will never have the money to do it myself, I still enjoy racing my dirt modified, asphalt street stock, and the BMW M3 I race in the ChampCar Endurance Series. Ultimately, you're my childhood hero dude. Can't wait for what the premier is all about!
Way to go Tony! Living it up! Still the same guy you were when I stood behind you in line to get in at Williams Grove. I believe you are the best racing steward alive! Your quick to acknowledge who was before you and quick to recognize who is current, even your competitors. Thank you for all you do
Tony You Tha Man.... A True Wheel Man. AJ Foyt, Tony Stewart & Kyle Larson 3 different generations but so similar in many ways. Raw Talent a person that can get into anything and drive the wheels off and be competitive. I was hoping somehow sponsorship would have come around and KL would have been in your stable for 2021, I truly believe the two of you together could have something something special and a bright future for the next decade for SHR. I’m not saying anything negative about Hendricks great organization however you and Kyle speak the same language and are better suited to coach this young man to Greatness in a stock car. Great Video Tony have a Great Christmas & Happy New Year !
He’s one of the most versatile drivers of his era. Not afraid to try something new and humble enough to let the experts show him how. Would be cool to see him in an NHRA event.
so cool man!! never stop pushing and learning something new.. things you o and have done for the racing community using your platform to push the sport forward buy example.. from watchin you run sprint cars at my home town track brewerton speedway in new york. traveling to your eldora track to watch big block modifieds and the truck series slinging dirt.. or the time i spent in college at UNOH...your name and legacy have touched every aspect. iv realized that if tony is going to touch a track it will always be left better. or a race will always be raced at a higher level.. and the fire it puts into some of these younger guys to be on the track with a legend.. and youre never to big to mingle with the grass roots...youre the man tony!!
Holy smokes Smoke !!! My favorite motor sport and you're one of my all time hero's ...holy crap Leah Pruitt and all ...Frank Hawley is the best ...new subscriber and looking forward to your videos !!!!
Seems like yesterday you were driving for Beast chassis 😁 First time I met you we were listening to Jack Hewitt telling stories during a rain out at Eldora. Doug Kalitta had set fast time, now here you are chasing the 1/4 mile.
The names and faces that are in this video... Leah Pruett and Frank Hawley... if you wanna learn how to drag race, these are the people to learn from. Frank's been running his Drag Racing school for over 2 decades, just... ugh, this is so cool!
No matter what you race it all comes back to Drag Racing. Nice to see Tony not chickening out and actually learning to drive something that takes some skill to do. Most of his circle track counterparts opt for something a little easier.
Idk what I'm more impressed with, Stewart again adding to his diverse driving record or getting all that protective clothing the drag racers wear on Stewart's body lol
@@nealhowell9574 lol ok. This isn't "average" weekend racers and Stewart didn't drag race to wear or be used to that. NHRA doesn't have many his size. And I clearly have but since you don't know me, I live close to Ohio Valley dragway and Lucas oil raceway.
Very cool that you went to school of drag racing. That last shot of you driving the Alcohol car shows that car hooking up really good and going down the track pretty fast. Would have like to have known how fast your drag runs were. I have driven a Richard Petty Driving experience car and that was very cool for me to do that. Driving a drag car would be a nice thrill for me to do that too. It great to see you are still evolving in any automotive sport you are diving into. keep it up man..
What does a retired NASCAR Champion do after spending a lifetime going in circles at 200 mph? Well, if you have the money, or someone else’s money... obviously you decide to go 300mph in a straight line... Seriously Tony, enjoy, your getting to live what most of us just dream about... Stay safe my friend....lol
LOL.. Why? He doesn't look at all like a giraffe. Or because you think he'd like matting the gas pedal and brakes in a car with no rear brakes... sitting there until the tires popped.. An 8 year old child could do that
I took his class at woodburn drag strip in Oregon and liked it so much went to Vegas and took it again. It's an awesome experience and Frank is a great human
Wow, so cool. Im happy just to have found this channel but for this to be the first video I found is ironically cool for me personally. I've been a sprint nut for along time. I helped on a local team and have done safety-fire,push truck stuff etc. A bucket list item for me was to someday turn some hot laps in a sprint car. In April that possibility came to a end, my neck broke all on its own, no trauma!!! I didn't even have neck problems, I went to er for low back pain???? So the realization that I am gonna have to sell my Harley and no chance of hot laps(bummer). In the meantime I started following Street/drag racing and have consumed myself with it to block out the world and its ill's. Now Im fantasizing about a butler built, hanz, and 1000c.i.BBC W/ twin 'f1' ProChargered door slammer attempt at the sound barrier. Lol. So great job on the being relatable thing- you nailed it!! Im looking forward to following this channel grow. Blessings
Tony, first off I love you dude LOL ... this video had me rolling ... You can literally drive air .... like what? .... you GOTTA slap that throttle on a nitro T/F rail/car! oh yeah, Hi Leah!
You can tell that those dragsters were made to teach people and not just race, there's so much more headroom in them than a normal dragster.. almost makes me think I could fit in one. (I'm 6'10 and all torso)
I am just not so sure if Tony will let off and peddle the tires when they need it /////hence... you can drive thru it Cole.. I know it in my heart..."be safe our brother"
Hey Tony. It would be cool to see SRX at Cleetus Mcfarlands Freedom Factory. Small facility, really old 3/8 mile. I'm sure you could help Cleeter with how to run a track as we know that you own El Dora.
Trying to keep all that power straight a lot harder than you think😏. One thing about drag racing than any other Motorsports is you have to be perfect and can’t have any slight mistakes. As the race is seconds long so gotta be perfect
@@chrispile3878 Tony Schumacher was back racing in 2020. I'd love to see Tony Stewart try his hand at drag racing competitively. He is one of the few drivers i believe could make the transition. John Andretti was the only other driver i can think of that raced Indycar, Nascar and NHRA.
Hey there mr stewart, my name is nathan, I am a big fan from Colorado Springs, Colorado! I was at sonoma in 2016 to see your final win! I’m hoping one day I could meet you and have you sign the raced version diecast!
Welcome to the fastest, most competitive sport there is. Races are won and lost by .0001. Come big $ bracket racing if you got the guts. Anyone with $ can run heads up.
@@russellnotestine6436 So what's Alex Bowman Trailer Park? Where do you think all circle track racing and drag racing come from and to say that about Tony is insane. He comes to small dirt track races and talks to other "trailer park drivers" all the time. You cannot have a tree that denies its own roots. Here he even says it ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4ZBlSoM7P94.html
