It was supposed to be the toughest test of the week. And yet, this Saturday, the All Blacks took the Irish apart in a 32-point drubbing where the scoreboard still flattered Ireland. So just how good were they, and how worried should England be?

Until this World Cup I only watched the SH comp and local NZ rugby (aside from international matches of course), but I got so hyped for this WC, I felt really involved. Now I'm trying to love the Premiership as well. It's actually really good, I'm a happy guy :)

The worst part about this match, as an Irishman watching, was, as soon as I saw Rory Best waiting for the national anthems, I knew we had lost. He looked like a man who was convinced that this was his last game ever, not like someone who thought his last match could be the final.

There was no way AB was going to lose this game because of the history but i was pleased how they dominated Ireland. i was stunned and i really thought at this point, 3peat. which i didnt want another AB world cup.

As an Irish man this was hard to watch the abs did their homework and found us out using underperforming players and targeted specifically stockdale no taking away from that we were out played and kept box kicking to them.

at about 2:51 when that sequence of play came to an end was there an all black knock on when they blocked the pass? i felt like there was at the time and that was a huge loss of momentum because the ball was hacked down field and from there on they dominated. i could be wrong tho because i didnt get a chance to catch a replay.

This AB team is not the AB team of 2015. I still believe the difference was Kieran Read. As good as he was, he was no Richie McCaw. The ABs from 2011-2015 were the greatest ever. After then it was a slow downhill.

Basically the same thing right? That collectively had the rugby iq to know when to sort structure. I think the point is they didn't plan when to switch structures, they decided on the spot.

Rugby Muscle they’re actually switching structures, most teams would have a 1331 or 242 or something like that and keep it throughout the match and maybe switch a small thing up. This was completely switching of structures where the forwards all moved to not only different positions but moved to either a spot linking up with more forwards or moving and literally being a stand alone forward. switching from 1331 many different structures within minutes,

Did he deserve his spot in the abs starting XV? Yes, his ability to read the game and be present is far superior to the likes of ioane, bridge I would say is a better player overall but ioane has superior gas and reaction time

@@jlm0175 fair play, I've not seen all that much of him play outside of RWC truth be told. All I'm basing my (dramatic) statement on is my opinion that he never looked as dangerous/exciting as the likes of Ionae or Smith

JLM 01 he isn’t as good at reading the game as well as Bridge, he is better than Ioane, but not Bridge, Bridge is just a very smart winger, and still young too

Sevu had an advantage that not many had seen him in an AB performance, so his exceptional acceleration and step put him in the same league as MilnerSkudder last RWC (who has since gone missing through injury and others learning his moves). Sevu was selected for serious xfactor. Didn’t get as many chances as I’d expected, but I have no issue with his work

John .F they did, if you watched the video, Ireland came with ideas and intensity, it’s just, they were playing NZ after having beat NZ twice this whole World Cup cycle, meaning NZ were gonna okay hard and be very smart. Ireland are legitimately just not better than NZ overall

@@DJ-ce3hq Irish players and coaches alike praised NZ the week leading up to the game. NZ is a great team, but they aren't invincible. Just like England prepared for 2 years to face NZ in the semifinal, Ireland was expecting to face the Boks in the quarterfinal. Mentally they couldn't step up for the NZ game.

John .F that’s not it though, if you watch this video, he says Ireland basically peaked too early at this WC against Scotland. They came into the NZ game looking good tbh, if NZ didn’t score so early it probably would have been a way closer game

Ireland ALLOWED them to dominate, then came the AB's turn, they ALLOWED England to dominate. NB: I'm not saying the AB's or England played badly, but both teams that lost could have done much better than they did. It's a known fact that NZ tend to loose the plot when they're losing - demonstrated perfectly in the game against England.

@@DJ-ce3hq but there were times when the AB s just stood by at loose rucks and mauls, they were so bad it looked like they were paid to loose. I believe the AB s have the power and the talent to dominate ANYONE. So its always strange to see them allow themselves to be dominated.

Dibrae I don’t agree personally. I think Richie mounga is a more well rounded ten than him. Let’s take that game against SA (34-36 to the springboks) and the all blacks are on there line. They had no idea how to set for a drop goal. Beaudun barret seemed less game manageable then a dying squid. They knock the ball on and SA win. He’s overrated
