Yeah Gavin enjoy what you get to witness while you are photographing landscapes. You could have to go into hospital laboratories everyday like I have to and only get out on the weekends. Btw most laboratories are windowless 😕.

Gavin, enjoyed your video (as always). That first comp you set up in the video, you discounted it because the light wasn't "se magnificque"...you gotta make lemonade when life gives you lemons! That image, if converted to black and white would be a marvelous image, a study of texture, shape and form. That flat lightning allows the details to come through, which if there was a direct light source in the sky, there would be blotchy shadows. Go ask Amanda...you know she would tell you the same! (Take that fine young lady to see some whales, would ya!😁)
You're video's are so fun to watch and always have ideas and tips. I always struggle with compositions but man you've hot a gift for it! You Said that there were no epic shots for a while now but he that second shot with the moon in it is absutely briljant! Grt guido

I visited mayne years ago, before any serious photography ability was even considered (!), beautiful place. I can recommend kayaking around it. It's small enough to do pretty easily. Also if I recall there are crazy tides between some of the small islands creating some cool whirlpools which could be interesting, awesome part of the world with so much to explore 👍
I liked the seagull bit about the keys. Reminds me of when I went to Norfolk England photographing waves. One big wave came in and I ran backwards not realising I had dropped aa car key out of my pocket. Luckily we had the spare key with us. It cost us £150 for a replacement.
Soooo ... I ordered "The Book" on Jan 4 and it's still not here. But I ordered Thomas Heatons book on March 22 and it will arrive on the 29th. I guess I'll have to put his book in my camera bag :p

Speaking of helicopters, what is stopping engineers to install mufflers in them to lower noise? It is really annoying especially with police ones flying around in middle of the night, waking up working class people. After all why not come up with police drones to control cities?
I might have to just stop watching your videos, the best we do where i am is a pigeon , a buzzrd or two and a rat swimming up the river. In all seriousness glad you have in part taken the pressure of yourself a little, You still have bills to pay, but just enjoy it,
So now we know what seagulls are talking about 🤣 I had no great sky last time out so I changed lens to 70-300 and started to taking close up abstract photos of waves wich I quite happy with. You can always find something to shoot even a grey or to sunny day.

Brilliant shots. Devil's Pulpit is only a handful of miles from are house, I haven't been but are little one went with her fiancé...husband now, wiped out my gear fund 🥴
It says a lot about a community where you can set up your wares and count on the honesty and integrity of the people around you. Here in the lower 48 that "honor" stand would last about 1/2 an hour before the whole thing was trashed and everything was stolen. That being said, you got a couple of decent shots. Hope Amanda was able to glimpse an orca or two.

I stayed in Vienna for most of last year and they have Gladiola fields with the same 'honesty' system as your Jam Stalls. The prices weren't any cheaper than the shops though so from what I saw people just gave what they felt they could afford. That's what I did too. I doubt the grower was disappointed!

Not every image needs epic epic light to be a success. I love shapes and textures more than that epic light that so many others use in every sunrise/sunset image. I know that is rather the point of sunrise/sunset but still I love the shapes and textures too. Also please include more Amanda giggling footage. 4 or 5 minutes would seem to be about right to me.
I saw jam stalls only in Bornholm, a very small island in Denmark. I didn't think they were a common thing around the world and they are absurd and very nice at the same time to me (a guy from a big city).
