Ocean Villa and Lagoon Villa have different room directions. Ocean villas face outward from the resort, while lagoon villas face inward from the resort.
To go there without your girlfriend seems a rather lonely affair. That would be the perfect place to lounge around and be intimate with your special someone. Such a quiet and lovely place.

Based on other resorts that I have seen in the Maldives, I think that you can get a significantly better overall experience for similar prices. This place is definitely NOT on my list of possible resorts to visit in the Maldives.
It's near the airport so you'll be hearing flights take off and land every 15 minutes from 6am till midnight. Stay off any island near Male international airport. Even Taj exotica has that problem. Too much airport noise since these islands are right next to the airport
Was the 4 glass bottles of drinking water complimentary? Did they refill it daily for you? Do you recall if they provided you with a water canteen/water bottle to use around the resort, bug spray, and sunblock? Did you use the boat transfer to the Marina?
Four glass bottles of drinking water are complimentary. They didn't provide insect repellent spray or water bottles, but if you ask the staff, they might be able to lend you one.
Personally, I don't think it's that different, but you can see a more beautiful sunrise or sunset with an ocean overwater villa. Also, ocean overwater villas are more expensive than lagoon overwater villas.

I have a question what’s the difference in view of a lagoon over water vs ocean. Also is the full board worth the price of going half board and buying lunch here and there
Ocean villas basically have a view of only the ocean in front of the deck of the room, while lagoon villas have a view of the land of the island. However, even at the ocean villa location, you may see other resorts diagonally in front. I'm a picky eater so half board was enough for me. If you're a big eater, a full board might be better.
From what I saw on the website, SO/ seems to be better for villas and restaurants. On the other hand, house reefs appear to be more abundant in Cinnamon Velifushi. Overall, it's hard to say which one is better, depending on what your purpose is for your stay.
I made a reservation for the half board plan (breakfast included) from SO/ Maldives' official website. After completing my reservation, the resort sent me a payment link. I don't remember if Amex can be used for payment. VISA was accepted.

Je ne comprend méme pas comment on a pu faire du mauvais contemporain aux Maldives ; quelle horreur que cet hotel De toutes façons quand on est aux Maldives c est pas pour passer ses journées dans sa chambre et donc le luxe intérieur .... On l a partout méme à Paris ! Quand je vois cet hotel je me dis les Maldives c est PAS çà !!!
